47: Chapter 47 Kill

Under Nie Ning's onslaught, wounds began to appear on the Frenzied Giant Bear's body.

Relying on Shadow Gliding Steps, Nie Ning was always able to dodge attacks and then counterattack.

As time passed, the Frenzied Giant Bear was bleeding all over, and a deep wound, exposing bone, had appeared next to its only remaining eye.

However, Nie Ning frowned.

Because he discovered that the Frenzied Giant Bear's movements were becoming increasingly agile; clearly, the spirit fusing liquid had started to lose its effect.

In the split second Nie Ning was distracted, the Frenzied Giant Bear's massive paw swiped toward his head.

Facing this attack, with nowhere to dodge, Nie Ning could only grit his teeth and raise his arms, preparing to take the Frenzied Giant Bear's attack head-on.

Yet when they made contact, Nie Ning's body sank abruptly, but the giant bear's strength was not as powerful as he had imagined.

At this moment, the Frenzied Giant Bear's body began to shrink, quickly reverting to its original size.

The Frenzy effect had worn off!

"My turn!"

Dou Qi surged out from within Nie Ning, and immediately after, his Strange Beast Body began to exert force.

As Nie Ning grabbed the giant bear's paw with a backhand grip, he turned and threw it over his shoulder.

The giant bear's body was lifted by Nie Ning's immense strength and then slammed heavily onto the ground.

The impact caused the ground to crack, creating a large crater, and blood sprayed continuously from the giant bear's wounds.

The Frenzied Giant Bear let out a mournful cry; clearly, this throw had caused it significant injury.

Facing the Frenzied Giant Bear now in a weakened state, Nie Ning did not give it a chance to catch its breath.

If he couldn't take the opportunity to kill it, hunting it next time wouldn't be as easy.

After all, strange beasts possessed decent intelligence and rarely fell into the same trap twice. Trying to interfere with spirit fusing liquid would become much more difficult, or even completely ineffective.

After a great battle, the injured and weakened Frenzied Giant Bear was ultimately no match for Nie Ning.

After failed attempts to escape, it was forced to engage in a life-or-death struggle with Nie Ning.

But as it was a ferocious beast, Nie Ning had to exhaust all his strength, ultimately killing it at the cost of having his chest torn open by the giant bear.

Thus, the Frenzied Giant Bear was dead!

...

"What incredible vitality."

Nie Ning sat down on the ground with a thud, panting as he looked at the massive bear corpse beside him.

The Frenzied Giant Bear's size was so massive that it seemed easy to attack its weak points, but in reality, the giant bear's physical body was simply too strong.

His longsword lacked sufficient piercing power; the deeper it went, the harder it was to penetrate.

Once he couldn't directly strike a vital point, he would have to face the Frenzied Giant Bear's paw next.

It was precisely for this reason that, facing the already weakened and heavily injured giant bear, Nie Ning, who had intended to pierce its heart, was slapped directly and almost had his soul knocked out of him.

In the end, he had no choice but to target the giant bear's eyes.

And even then, it was only by relying on that already blinded eye and stabbing in from the blind spot that he managed to kill it.

Nie Ning looked down at his armor, which had been torn open in several places by the Frenzied Giant Bear's sharp claws.

"That old guy Borton kept nagging about this set of armor last time, and hogging other people's things is indeed not right. I should return it to him later."

Mumbling a few words to himself, Nie Ning stood up and began to process the Frenzied Giant Bear's head.

After spending a quarter of an hour, Nie Ning finally extracted the giant bear's crystal core.

The Frenzied Giant Bear's crystal core was earthy yellow and about the size of two fingers.

With the item now in hand, Nie Ning was troubled as he looked at the Frenzied Giant Bear's massive body.

He definitely couldn't just discard it; after all, this was a strange beast, and an existence even stronger than a High-Tier Knight.

Almost everything on its body was a treasure; just its fur alone could be made into a leather jacket capable of defending against an Elementary Knight's attacks, not to mention the other parts.

But at four meters in size, it was truly a bit too large; just carrying it would be exhausting.

It wouldn't be good if he were seen, as it would easily attract the attention of those with ulterior motives.

"Looks like I'll have to ask that old guy Borton for help."

Nie Ning shook his head slightly and couldn't help but sigh.

Processing a corpse was very troublesome; damaging the materials would affect their value.

And the last time, Borton had processed the Crimson Fire Ape very efficiently, so he must have done this kind of thing often.

But leaving it here made Nie Ning uneasy; if it were discovered by others, it would inevitably cause some unnecessary trouble.

However, there was clearly no better way. Unless he dragged it directly into the city, nothing else would work, as he was only one person after all.

"Leave it to fate."

Immediately, Nie Ning dragged the giant bear's corpse into a cave and buried the entrance with stones.

After finishing all this, Nie Ning finally ran toward Ska City.

At his speed, a round trip would take about an hour. He only hoped that no one else would come looking for the Frenzied Giant Bear during this time.

...

After about half an hour, Nie Ning arrived at the tavern.

However, Borton was not in the tavern; only Quis was sitting there, resting with his eyes closed.

"Where is your teacher?"

Nie Ning asked.

"Teacher is not here. I'm on duty today. What happened to you?"

Looking at Nie Ning's wounds and torn armor, Quis asked in astonishment.

One had to know that Nie Ning was an Intermediate Knight; even if injured, he wasn't someone an ordinary person could handle. How could he have ended up like this?

"Go call your teacher and have him come over quickly. We need to go out of the city."

Nie Ning said straightforwardly.

After all, time was limited, and he had to hurry back.

Quis thought about the relationship between Nie Ning and Borton, and seeing Nie Ning's hurried appearance, it was clear that there was something important to discuss.

Although he found Nie Ning annoying, he still knew what was important.

"Wait."

With that, Quis left the tavern directly.

Nie Ning poured himself a glass of water and then sat quietly on the sofa to wait.

About ten minutes later, Borton arrived, disheveled.

Seeing Nie Ning's miserable state, even Borton was a bit unsettled. Thinking Nie Ning had encountered some major event, he hurriedly asked.

"What's wrong? Did you encounter something?"

"Bring those tools of yours from last time. Let's get out of the city quickly; we'll talk on the way."

Nie Ning didn't say much more, but had Borton pack his things and come with him; even Quis was brought along.

After all, an extra person meant an extra pair of hands, and he could take it easier himself.

...

About forty minutes later, the three of them arrived at the canyon.

Seeing the cave entrance blocked by stones, Nie Ning couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

If someone had snuck in and stolen it, he really would have died with regrets.

As the giant stones were moved away, the massive corpse of the Frenzied Giant Bear was revealed.

Borton and Quis couldn't help but widen their eyes.

Although they had heard what Nie Ning said on the way, actually seeing this ferocious beast was still astonishing.

Because of this giant bear, Ska City had lost at least seven or eight Intermediate Knights in the last few months; they hadn't expected Nie Ning to have solved it alone.

"Stop staring. Let's get started quickly; I still need to go back and sleep later."

Seeing the two of them dazed, Nie Ning urged them quickly.

After all, he still had to go to work; he didn't have that much time to stay here.
