112: Zhang Songwen visited the set after filming wrapped.

"That's right, don't underestimate Baoqiang," Chen Le explained with a smile.

"Did you write the script for this movie too?" Yang Mi suddenly remembered something and asked.

"Yeah, I wrote it. It was custom-made for Baoqiang," Chen Le shamelessly took the credit.

As he spoke, he introduced the movie to Yang Mi in more detail.

Time passed quickly, and 'Hello, Mr. Tree' had already been filming for a week.

Chen Le was looking at the monitor when he suddenly noticed someone walking up behind him.

Chen Le turned around to look, and it was actually Zhang Songwen.

"Oh, Teacher Songwen? What are you doing here?"

Chen Le hadn't expected Zhang Songwen to actually come over.

"Haha, I'm here for a set visit. Boss, you've already been filming for a week," he said with a laugh.

"You didn't bring us anything to eat for your visit?" Chen Le raised an eyebrow and teased with a smile.

"I did! How could I not?" Zhang Songwen said, pulling a bag from behind him filled with snacks and fruit.

"Is Baoqiang filming right now?" He looked toward the nearby filming site and asked curiously.

"Yes, do you want to take a look?" Chen Le asked.

Zhang Songwen nodded and then watched from the side.

Chen Le continued to watch the monitor.

Baoqiang was currently filming the scene where he goes to the hospital.

He was repairing a car in a repair shop, and while welding, his eyes were injured, so he was admitted to the hospital.

His younger brother sat on another bed next to him, looking at Wang Baoqiang with a face full of disappointment. "Tell me, what else can you do? Every day you just go looking for trouble?"

"What's the big deal? Go mind your own business."

Lying on the hospital bed with an eye patch, Wang Baoqiang had completely immersed himself in the character.

He was Mr. Tree, and at this moment, his younger brother was complaining about him.

"Here's a thousand yuan. You'll have to figure out the rest yourself."

The brother took a puff of his cigarette, pulled a stack of red bills from his pocket, stuffed them into his hand, gave him a helpless look, and left the ward.

"Cut!"

The scene ended.

Nearby, after watching Wang Baoqiang's performance in this segment, Zhang Songwen was instantly blown away.

He hadn't expected Wang Baoqiang's acting skills to be this good.

This was something he hadn't seen back when they were filming 'lost on journey'.

When Wang Baoqiang heard Chen Le call cut, he still hadn't snapped out of it.

Zhang Songwen walked over to find Wang Baoqiang.

"Baoqiang, your acting is just too good," Zhang Songwen praised with a smile.

Wang Baoqiang sat up from the hospital bed in the room and lit another cigarette.

Seeing this, Zhang Songwen was stunned for a moment.

"Baoqiang, you've even learned how to smoke?" Zhang Songwen frowned slightly, looking at him in surprise.

He remembered that Wang Baoqiang didn't know how to smoke.

When he filmed with Wang Baoqiang before, many people in the Film Crew smoked, but Wang Baoqiang didn't.

Why was it different now? What on earth had happened?

Only then did Wang Baoqiang snap back to reality, forcing a faint smile onto his face. "The role needed it, so I learned."

"The role needed it?" Zhang Songwen was startled for a moment, then nodded.

"This character is quite a tragic one. I was just a bit too deep in character just now." Wang Baoqiang's smile finally returned to normal.

Seeing the familiar Wang Baoqiang, Zhang Songwen felt a sense of relief.

This was the Baoqiang he was used to seeing.

At that moment, Chen Le walked over.

"What's up with you two?" Chen Le looked at them and asked with a smile.

"Nothing, just chatting," Zhang Songwen explained.

Chen Le nodded upon hearing this, then looked at Zhang Songwen and asked, "Teacher Songwen, do you want to play a cameo role in this new movie? I happen to have a role that hasn't been cast yet. It doesn't have many scenes and can be finished in a few days."

Zhang Songwen nodded at Chen Le's words.

"Okay."

...In the blink of an eye, the movie was about to wrap up.

This movie took a few days longer than Chen Le had anticipated, totaling nearly twenty-one days.

On the day of the wrap-up, in the final scene, Wang Baoqiang stood under a tree as Xiao Mei arrived by car.

After she got out of the car, Wang Baoqiang looked at the heavily pregnant Xiao Mei, a smile and uncontrollable excitement appearing on his face.

The two walked along the road as the distant setting sun illuminated the earth.

While the chill bit at their hands, they held them together.

With a shout of "Cut!"

The filming of this movie was truly finished.

"Wuhu! Baoqiang, it's finished!" An actor who got along well with Baoqiang jumped up, his face full of joy.

"That's a wrap! Everyone, pack up," Chen Le called out to the group.

Then, he walked over to Wang Baoqiang.

"Baoqiang, why are you just standing there?" Chen Le went up and saw that Wang Baoqiang was still holding the actress's hand.

At that moment, Wang Baoqiang snapped back to his senses.

Releasing the actress's hand, he looked around somewhat awkwardly.

Seeing Wang Baoqiang let go, the actress's face turned slightly red, and she left.

"Sorry, Director Chen, I hadn't snapped out of it just now," Wang Baoqiang said with a somewhat forced smile.

Chen Le looked at him and felt as if he were still in character, unable to step out of it.

"It's fine, Baoqiang. It's a wrap. Let's go celebrate properly tonight," Chen Le patted his shoulder and consoled him.

Wang Baoqiang's expression was somewhat melancholy. "It's a wrap. It really is a wrap."

Chen Le watched him, feeling that Wang Baoqiang was too deep in character. If he didn't give him some proper guidance, he might stay stuck in it for a long time.

After all, the filming for this movie only took twenty-one days in total. It was indeed quite short, so it was normal that Wang Baoqiang couldn't snap out of it immediately.

"Let's go, Baoqiang. Why are you still standing there? Once this movie is released, you'll definitely win an award. You acted so well!" Chen Le gave Wang Baoqiang a pull, leading him back to the Film Crew's lounge.

Only after letting Wang Baoqiang change back into his own clothes did he seem much more alert.

"Boss, sorry. I was a bit too deep in character just now and didn't recover," Wang Baoqiang said, his alert face showing a hint of exhaustion.

Playing this role was too mentally draining.

This character required him to inject his emotions to play it well.

"Have you recovered now?" Chen Le asked with a smile, seeing that Wang Baoqiang looked much better.

"I've recovered, but I'll probably need a few more days to fully get over it."

As the movie wrapped up, Mr. Tree wrapped up too. Wang Baoqiang felt a strange emptiness in his heart; this was the aftereffect of finishing a role.

At the wrap-up banquet, a group of actors sat around the dining table.

The table was covered with Northeast Chinese specialties in generous portions.

"Today is the wrap-up banquet for 'Hello, Mr. Tree'. Everyone has worked hard during this time. Let's all eat and drink well!" Chen Le stood up and greeted the main creative team in the private room with a smile.

The other members of the creative team all responded in agreement.

Wang Baoqiang sat to the side, silently drinking.

Before filming this movie, he didn't even know how to drink.

"Baoqiang, you need to be careful with the smoking and drinking. Don't ruin your health just for the sake of acting," Chen Le reminded him from the side.

Wang Baoqiang nodded upon hearing this.

After the wrap-up banquet ended, the next day, the Film Crew prepared to return to Yanjing.

This movie needed to be edited quickly and then released to try and compete for several awards.
