174: Bai Ke, a student at Beijing Film Academy!

After submitting the movie for review, Chen Le truly found himself with nothing to do.

He suddenly had a lot of free time on his hands.

This morning, Naza got out of bed.

Chen Le got up along with her.

She had to go to class. These days, she had been going to bed quite late every night and still had to wake up early, which had made her daily routine a bit chaotic.

"Naza, let me drive you to school," Chen Le said with a smile, walking up to Naza as she was washing up.

"Drive me to school? Won't that be too much trouble for you?" Naza was stunned for a moment, looking a bit surprised.

"It's fine. The movie is finished editing and has been sent for review. I don't need to go to the company during the day, so I might as well take you to school," Chen Le explained.

"Okay!" Naza's eyes lit up upon hearing Chen Le's explanation, and she immediately nodded.

Afterward, the two of them finished washing up.

They had a simple breakfast and then headed to the school.

Upon arriving at the school and dropping Naza off at the teaching building, Chen Le turned and walked toward Dean Wang's office.

He hadn't visited Dean Wang in a long time, so he decided to drop by while he was there.

When he reached Dean Wang's office, the old man was currently looking over some documents on his desk.

He reflexively looked up and saw Chen Le.

"Chen Le, what are you doing here? How long has it been since I last saw you? Is your movie finished?" Dean Wang was first quite surprised, then threw out a string of questions.

Chen Le smiled and nodded upon hearing this.

Then he answered Dean Wang's questions one by one. "The movie is finished and has been sent for review. I thought of you, old man, so I came to visit."

"Then where's your gift? We haven't met in so long, and you come empty-handed? You didn't just come to see me on a whim, did you?" Seeing Chen Le's empty hands, Dean Wang couldn't help but shoot him a look of disdain.

"Hey, how could that be? I just felt that you have so much tea, Old Wang, that you wouldn't care for the little bit I'd bring," Chen Le made up an excuse.

Hearing this shameless statement, Dean Wang didn't even bother to argue.

"Fine, if you didn't bring anything, you didn't bring anything. When did you get back to Yanjing? You only come to see me after the movie is already edited."

"About half a month ago," Chen Le replied.

"Half a month ago? Your post-production speed is that fast?" Dean Wang was stunned, finding it somewhat unbelievable.

"Yeah, it's standard procedure," Chen Le nodded with a smile.

"Holy crap, that's just too exaggerated," Dean Wang couldn't help but blurt out a curse.

Although Chen Le's post-production speed was fast before, it usually took about a month. Now it was even faster.

"Your talent is so good it makes me a bit jealous. Did the heavens not close a single window for you?" Dean Wang couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

"Haha, right, Old Wang, I remember Bai Ke is also at the Beijing Film Academy. How is he doing?" Chen Le suddenly remembered Bai Ke.

Earlier, Bai Ke said he wanted to pursue further studies, and then used some connections to get into the Beijing Film Academy as an auditor.

Zhang Songwen had told him about this at the time. Chen Le naturally had no reason to oppose Bai Ke's idea.

"Bai Ke, huh? I arranged for him to audit classes in the Acting Department. He's performing quite well, very hardworking, and has decent talent. While he might not compare to Wang Baoqiang, he's still much better than most people," Dean Wang said with a smile, his words full of appreciation for Bai Ke.

"Honestly, how do you find so many good prospects? They didn't pass the entrance exams for the Beijing Film Academy, but their talent is excellent. It's just a pity that there are still many good actors like them who remain buried," Dean Wang sighed lightly, his tone full of regret for those talented actors who never get discovered.

But while swift horses are common, a talent scout is rare.

"Old Wang, which classroom does Bai Ke usually audit in? I'll go find him and stop bothering you here."

"Sure!" Dean Wang nodded.

He then told Chen Le which classroom Bai Ke was currently in.

Chen Le soon arrived outside the classroom where Bai Ke was auditing.

With one glance, he spotted Bai Ke sitting inside.

At that moment, Bai Ke was listening intently to the lecture and hadn't noticed Chen Le.

Soon, the bell rang for the end of class.

Just as Bai Ke walked out of the classroom, someone tapped him on the back.

He turned around but saw no one.

Turning back again, he discovered Chen Le.

"Boss! What are you doing at the Beijing Film Academy?" A look of immense surprise appeared on Bai Ke's face, his eyes filled with joy.

"I had some business here and decided to see how your studies have been going," Chen Le said with a smile.

"Boss, come, let's go talk over there," Bai Ke said immediately, noticing the gazes of the people around them.

Quite a few of the surrounding students recognized Chen Le when they saw him.

After all, Chen Le was a celebrity at the Beijing Film Academy, a figure on the campus rankings; many people in the school knew him.

"Whoa, is that Senior Chen Le?"

"It looks like him! Why is he back at school?"

"I heard his new movie, Goodbye Mr. Loser, is finished filming."

The people around them whispered amongst themselves, but they didn't dare approach.

The current Chen Le was a Great Director with his own aura, which made these students who hadn't yet entered society feel very intimidated.

On the other side, Bai Ke and Chen Le arrived at a less crowded spot.

Seeing this, Chen Le felt a bit strange.

They weren't talking about anything private, so why the need for such secrecy?

"Boss, weren't you off filming your new movie? Why did you suddenly come to the Beijing Film Academy?" Bai Ke asked curiously.

"The movie is finished. How are your studies going here? Have you learned much?" Chen Le asked.

The two of them spoke like friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time.

"Yeah, I've learned quite a lot. I only realize now that my previous acting wasn't really acting at all; anyone could have done it. I had no acting skills to speak of," Bai Ke shared his realizations from his time studying at the Beijing Film Academy.

"That's the truth. I only looked for you back then because your image was right, it had nothing to do with acting skills."

"Also, you have a good grasp of internet memes, which makes you suitable for that kind of nonsensical comedy."

"So, do you feel like your acting has improved now?" Chen Le continued to ask.

"There's some improvement, but I haven't actually performed yet, so I'm not entirely sure." Bai Ke had studied so hard during this period that he had almost reached the point of forgetting to eat and sleep.

He felt that since Wang Baoqiang could go from being an Extra to a powerhouse actor, he certainly could as well.

He didn't want to just play nonsensical characters; he wanted to advance further.

Chen Le nodded upon hearing this. "Well, I believe in you. Your acting still has a lot of room for improvement."

He remembered that Bai Ke's acting in the future was actually quite good, having appeared in many works.

For example, 'Buddies in India', 'The Founding of an Army', and so on.

Of course, at this point in time, Bai Ke's acting was indeed lacking.

So he still needed to work hard on his studies and polish his craft for a few more years.

Hearing Chen Le's words, a smile appeared on Bai Ke's face. "Boss, I won't let you down."
