62: Zhang Songwen burst out laughing!
At 10:00 PM, the Film Crew finished today's shooting.
The lights on the set gradually dimmed, leaving only a few scattered ones that added a touch of tranquility to the night.
Chen Le took a car back to the hotel, and just as he sat down, he received a phone call from Yang Mi.
On the other end of the line, Yang Mi's voice carried a hint of relaxation after exhaustion: "Hey, Old Chen, I'm finally done here. I just finished a meal with Director Yu and the others. These past few days, I've really been dog-tired."
Hearing this, the corners of Chen Le's mouth curled up involuntarily: "You've worked hard, Mi Mi. You've really been pushing yourself too hard lately for the promotional activities of 'Palace'."
"Yeah, but I think it's all worth it. You know what? At today's promotional event, the fans were so enthusiastic; I was actually a bit moved." Yang Mi's tone was full of a sense of accomplishment.
At the same time, she also had some faint expectations for her new drama in her heart.
Chen Le smiled and said, "Yeah, your new drama will definitely be a huge hit. Mi Mi, you're so beautiful and your acting is good; if you don't become popular, who will?"
"Haha, Old Chen, you're exaggerating too much. But still, thank you for your blessings, Old Chen." Yang Mi couldn't help but laugh when she heard Chen Le's praise.
Then, she changed the subject. "By the way, Old Chen, I have some things to do next. I have to go back to Yanjing for a few days to handle some personal matters and company arrangements. Once those are settled, I can fly over to see you immediately."
"It's fine, go ahead with your business. You can come and see me whenever." Chen Le waved his hand.
"That's good. By the way, Old Chen, how long have you guys been filming now? Are you filming domestically, or have you already gone over there?" Yang Mi suddenly asked.
Chen Le explained, "Mi Mi, we've already been filming for a week. We're currently still filming some early scenes domestically, mainly at the airport and some urban streetscapes."
"The Thailand part is still a while away. After we finish the domestic part, we'll be in Thailand for the rest. The time for going to Thailand hasn't been set yet; I reckon we still have to wait a while."
"Hehe, I thought you had already gone to Thailand. It's good that you haven't, otherwise I wouldn't be able to go see you. Going to Thailand is a big hassle." Yang Mi laughed.
The two chatted until the early hours of the morning before reluctantly ending the call... The next day, all the Film Crew members gathered at the new filming location.
This filming location was also in Shancheng, but it was a different place—an office building.
The shooting site had been set up in advance, just waiting for the Film Crew to enter.
This scene was filming the opening of 'lost in thailand'.
Chen Le looked at the monitor; Zhang Songwen and Huang Bo were ready.
After Chen Le shouted "Action!", the filming officially began.
Zhang Songwen stood in the office. A woman was sitting by the desk; she was Zhang Songwen's wife.
He looked at his wife and said, "Youba is a success. Do you know what it means once renewable energy hits the market?"
"What does it mean?"
"It means..." Zhang Songwen stopped halfway, stuck.
Then he let out a "pfft" and burst out laughing.
"Stop, stop!"
"Cut! Teacher Songwen, why did you break character?" Chen Le quickly called for a stop.
"She stunned me with that question, and I didn't react in time. I don't remember this line being in the script, right?" Songwen shook his head quickly.
"There isn't. She just improvised a line."
"I couldn't follow that. It totally confused me." Songwen scratched his head.
"It's fine, let's keep filming." Chen Le waved his hand.
Then, filming continued.
Zhang Songwen's wife spoke: "Xu Lang, we've been together for twelve years... Is this marriage completely meaningless to you?"
"You also know how much I've sacrificed for this project."
"I want Xiaodi."
..."I can't sign the divorce agreement right now." Zhang Songwen walked over to his wife, flipping through flight tickets in his hand. "I'm going to miss my flight. I can't sign it, I really can't sign it, I won't explain anymore..."
"I want Xiaodi."
"Do you want me to get down on my knees and beg you?" Zhang Songwen looked at his wife, his eyes full of helplessness.
"Then kneel!" his wife shouted.
Zhang Songwen was taken aback, and he actually slid down and knelt.
"Cut!" Chen Le called a stop, then he looked at Zhang Songwen and said:
"Uh, Teacher Songwen, you knelt too early. That's not how it is in the script. Let's take a break and reshoot in a bit."
Nearby, Huang Bo stepped forward and said with a smile, "Old Zhang, what's the situation? Why did you kneel so fast?"
"I'm not in a good state today." Songwen rolled his eyes.
"It's okay, I'll be on stage in a bit. Watch me; I won't let you lose face alone." Huang Bo raised an eyebrow and patted Songwen's shoulder.
The two rested for over ten minutes, and after getting into the right state, they continued with the filming.
Zhang Songwen knelt on the ground, looking at his wife with eyes full of helplessness and entreaty.
His wife sneered, her face filled with silent mockery. "The last time you knelt was when you proposed to me. How humorous!"
Just then, Huang Bo walked in from outside the office.
Zhang Songwen saw his wife turn her head and subconsciously looked back, discovering Huang Bo.
"Yoho, President Xu, what are you doing?" Huang Bo said while smiling.
Zhang Songwen shouted somewhat impatiently, "Get out!"
Huang Bo ignored him and continued to tease with a smile, "What's this? Proposing to your wife again?"
Zhang Songwen didn't take offense at his words but frowned and looked at him in surprise: "Aren't you on your honeymoon in Paris? Why are you back?"
...Chen Le looked at the monitor. This take went quite smoothly, with no character-breaking laughter or other accidents.
"Cut, this segment is finished. Brother Bo, your performance was very good."
Seeing Huang Bo and the others walking over, Chen Le offered a word of praise.
"Teacher Songwen, this one was good; it's a pass."
Hearing this, Songwen nodded.
"Old Huang, that's not right. Didn't we agree on making a fool of ourselves? How did you pass in one go?" Songwen said, looking at Huang Bo.
"Sigh, Brother Zhang, isn't it good to pass in one go? Do you really want to see me make a fool of myself?" Huang Bo laughed somewhat helplessly.
"You rascal, Old Huang. You're just letting me be the only one to make a fool of myself?" Songwen said with a laugh.
Chen Le saw the two and said with a smile, "Brother Bo, Teacher Songwen, we'll eat in a bit. The morning scenes are finished."
"OK, Director Chen, we'll be right there." Songwen and Huang Bo nodded.
"Let's call Baoqiang and go out for a meal today. We've been in Shancheng for two days and haven't tasted the local food yet," Chen Le suggested.
"Alright, Director Chen." Songwen nodded, and then he went to call Wang Baoqiang.
Wang Baoqiang was still working hard on memorizing his lines when he was called over.
The group went to the snack street near the Film Crew's location, which was filled with local delicacies.
Chen Le led them to a Shancheng Hotpot restaurant, which is a specialty of Shancheng.
