124: Wang Baoqiang: I give lectures to students at the Beijing Film Academy?
In the classroom.
The chatter continued. Zhang Songwen was just about to ask everyone to be quiet and prepare to start the class when a student suddenly raised their hand.
Seeing this, Zhang Songwen gestured for him to stand up.
"Teacher, I have a question," the student asked somewhat nervously.
"Go ahead," Zhang Songwen nodded.
"It's like this: since everyone is so curious about how Baoqiang improved so quickly, could you invite him over to give us a talk? He could tell us about real acting and how it differs from what we learn in class." The student looked at Zhang Songwen with an expectant expression.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Songwen was momentarily stunned, but then he felt that it actually seemed feasible.
Thinking this, he nodded and immediately agreed. "Alright, I'll ask Baoqiang later and see if he has time."
Hearing his words, the group of students immediately cried out in surprise.
They hadn't expected Zhang Songwen to actually agree.
Seeing this, Zhang Songwen immediately waved his hand.
"Quiet, quiet. I still have to ask Dean Wang if he agrees, and then I have to ask Baoqiang. It's not even certain if it can happen yet."
"We should start class now; we've already wasted so much time!"
Hearing this, the students immediately quieted down.
But in their hearts, they had already begun to look forward to it.
After all, Wang Baoqiang had just been auditing Zhang Songwen's classes with them last year, and now he had suddenly become a big star whose acting skills rivaled those of a Film Emperor.
They were all fairly familiar with Wang Baoqiang, and none of them had expected that in such a short time, his transformation would be so earth-shattering.
Soon after class ended, Zhang Songwen went to find Dean Wang to discuss the matter with him.
Arriving at Dean Wang's office, he knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Dean Wang's voice rang out, and Zhang Songwen walked inside.
Dean Wang instinctively looked up and was somewhat surprised to see it was Songwen. He immediately smiled and said, "It's Songwen! What brings you here? Is something the matter?"
Hearing this, Zhang Songwen smiled and said, "It's like this, Dean. The students in my class said they want me to invite Baoqiang to give them a lecture. They want to know the difference between real acting and what we teach in class, so I thought I'd come and ask you."
Hearing his words, Dean Wang immediately nodded and said, "That's a good thing. These students really shouldn't just stick to book learning; they need to see what real acting is like."
"Let Baoqiang give them a lesson to show them that there's always someone better out there. They shouldn't think that just because they got into the Beijing Film Academy, they're invincible."
"I support you in this. Go ahead and invite Baoqiang. It's best if Baoqiang humbles them a bit, so this bunch of students doesn't end up with such high expectations but low abilities."
Hearing Dean Wang's words, a smile appeared on Zhang Songwen's face.
With Dean Wang's support, it was basically a sure thing.
Just then, there was another knock on Dean Wang's office door.
Both Zhang Songwen and Dean Wang were momentarily surprised.
Then Dean Wang called out, "Come in."
A familiar figure pushed open the door and walked in.
"Teacher Cui?" Zhang Songwen was stunned.
"Xinqin, what brings you here?" Dean Wang was also surprised and asked.
"I heard Teacher Zhang wanted to invite Baoqiang to give a lecture, so I came to take a look. Are you two finished talking?" Cui Xinqin said with a smile.
"Yes, we're finished. Xinqin, is there something else?" Dean Wang nodded.
"It's like this: I was wondering if Teacher Zhang could have Baoqiang give a lecture to my class as well."
"This...?" Dean Wang looked at Zhang Songwen.
Seeing this, Zhang Songwen immediately smiled and nodded. "I'll go ask. We'll see if Baoqiang agrees first."
"Alright, go ahead and ask then," Cui Xinqin nodded.
"Okay, I'll go contact Baoqiang right now." After saying that, Zhang Songwen left Dean Wang's office.
Cui Xinqin did the same.
After the two left, Dean Wang took out his phone.
He opened his phone, found Chen Le's number, and dialed it.
On the other end, Chen Le was somewhat puzzled when he received the call from Dean Wang.
Normally, Dean Wang rarely called him, except for when the first-day box office results of a movie were released. He almost never called at any other time.
If he was calling, there was definitely something he needed.
Thinking of this, he immediately answered the call.
"Hello! Old Wang, what's up?" Chen Le asked.
Hearing Chen Le's voice, Dean Wang was momentarily surprised, then smiled and said, "I actually have some serious business to discuss this time."
"It's like this: the students in Songwen's class said they wanted Baoqiang to give them a lecture..." Dean Wang said, recounting his previous conversation with Zhang Songwen to Chen Le.
After listening, a smile appeared on Chen Le's face.
"That's a good idea. I think these students should be humbled a bit. Otherwise, they stay in school too long and end up with high expectations but low abilities. Once they graduate and receive a harsh beating from society, they'll learn to be more grounded," Chen Le said with a smile.
"Well said. In that case, you should talk to Baoqiang and arrange a time for him to give them a lecture," Dean Wang said with a smile after hearing Chen Le's words.
Afterward, the two hung up.
Chen Le sat for a while and then called Wang Baoqiang.
Wang Baoqiang was very curious when he received the call. "Hello, Boss, is there something you need?"
"Baoqiang, it's like this: Dean Wang wants to invite you to the Beijing Film Academy to give a lecture to the students," Chen Le said.
"Me, giving a lecture to students at the Beijing Film Academy?" Wang Baoqiang was instantly stunned upon hearing this.
Him, giving a lecture?
He didn't even have confidence in himself.
"I don't think I can do it, Boss," Wang Baoqiang said immediately.
"I don't know how to teach people, Boss."
His expression looked a bit troubled.
He was afraid that by teaching the students at the Beijing Film Academy, he would mislead them.
"Baoqiang, it's fine. You can give it a try. Don't lack confidence. Everyone can see your acting skills now; they're not inferior to those Film Emperors. What's there to be afraid of?" Chen Le persuaded.
"Boss, I really can't do it. I've never taught anyone before. I'm afraid if I go there to teach them, I'll make a fool of myself," Wang Baoqiang said, still lacking confidence.
"It's okay. If you don't know how, you can learn! Teachers aren't experts at teaching the very first time, either. You can give it a try."
"Dean Wang said he wants you to help give them a lesson to correct the students' habit of having high expectations but low abilities," Chen Le continued.
Hearing this, Wang Baoqiang grit his teeth and said, "Well, alright then. I'll go teach them, but I still need to do some preparation."
Hearing this, Chen Le immediately smiled and said, "No problem. Take your time to prepare. It's not like you're teaching right away; you can take a few days."
Wang Baoqiang nodded.
After hanging up, he began to think about how to teach those Beijing Film Academy students.
