236: Let's go to Yang Mi's house to celebrate the New Year!

If she bought too many clothes for Chen Le, he probably wouldn't get new ones for several years; it was better to buy a few sets now, and then continue buying him new ones after he'd worn these for a few months.

"Alright then." Yang Mi finally nodded.

Seeing Yang Mi agree, Chen Le breathed a sigh of relief.

Every time he went shopping with Yang Mi, this was what he feared most.

There were too many things, and carrying them all the way was a real struggle.

"Let's find a place to eat; it's getting late now," Chen Le continued.

"Okay, Old Chen. I remember there's a hotpot restaurant nearby that's very good. Since it's so cold, let's go have hotpot," Yang Mi looked at Chen Le and asked with a smile.

"Sure, let's head over," Chen Le nodded.

The two of them then walked towards the hotpot restaurant.

The hotpot restaurant was some distance from their current location, and it took them over ten minutes to arrive.

They soon reached the restaurant and got a private room.

After ordering the restaurant's most classic hotpot...

They ate hotpot until nine in the evening, and after Yang Mi bought a few more sets of clothes for herself, the two finally headed back.

After being apart for over a month, the moment they returned, it was like dry wood meeting a flame—one spark and they were ablaze.

The next day arrived, and Chen Le woke up; he had enjoyed himself quite thoroughly yesterday.

The two hadn't even used any safety measures, but fortunately, it wasn't Yang Mi's danger period, so it wasn't a big deal.

Yang Mi woke up at this time as well. Seeing Chen Le up so early, she was still a bit bleary-eyed.

"Old Chen, aren't you tired? Why are you up so early?" Yang Mi originally wanted to keep sleeping, but after Chen Le got out of bed, he started acting a bit restless.

"I've had enough sleep; I'm not tired," Chen Le shook his head, playing around as he spoke.

Mi Mi truly lived up to the name Da Mi Mi; her capital was indeed substantial.

"I'm a bit tired," Yang Mi said, her beautiful eyes shooting a glare at Chen Le.

"Alright, you go back to sleep for a while. I'll go make breakfast," Chen Le stopped his movements upon hearing this.

He then got out of bed to go make breakfast.

Seeing Chen Le leave, Yang Mi lay back down to catch up on some sleep.

By the time she woke up again, Chen Le had already finished making breakfast.

Chen Le woke Yang Mi up. She rubbed her eyes and then got out of bed somewhat reluctantly.

She went to the bathroom to wash up, the marks from last night still lingering on her body.

After a quick wash, Yang Mi walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a bath towel.

Fortunately, there was heating in the room, otherwise the sub-zero temperatures outside would have been freezing.

While eating breakfast, Yang Mi suddenly said, "Old Chen, let's go to my house this afternoon first, and then we'll go out for New Year's Eve."

Chen Le was stunned for a moment upon hearing her words, then he nodded.

Although he didn't know why Yang Mi suddenly changed the itinerary, it didn't matter to him either way.

A little after ten in the morning, the two finished breakfast and began to dress. Yang Mi had the foresight to put the clothes they bought yesterday into the washing machine.

With the high temperature in the room, they had dried after being left out overnight.

Now they were ready for Chen Le to change into.

Yang Mi dressed Chen Le up. Looking at the refreshed Chen Le, she felt very satisfied.

Even though with Chen Le's looks, he looked good in anything...

...Yang Mi felt a sense of accomplishment from dressing him herself.

"Old Chen, my taste is pretty good, right? Look how handsome you are in this outfit," Yang Mi said, looking at Chen Le with a grin.

"Yeah, Mi Mi, your taste is really great. If it were up to me, I wouldn't even know how to choose," Chen Le went right along with Yang Mi's words.

This made Yang Mi beam with joy and feel completely satisfied.

"Mm, Old Chen, come help me see which outfit would be better for me to wear?"

After finishing with Chen Le, it was her turn. She looked at the wardrobe at her dazzling array of clothes, and Yang Mi suffered a bit of choice paralysis.

When dressing Chen Le, she chose what she thought looked best.

But when it came to herself, she liked all these clothes. She couldn't wear them all, so she had to pick just one.

Hearing this, Chen Le looked at Yang Mi's clothes in the wardrobe. He didn't know what to choose either, so he just pointed randomly.

"This one? I guess that works too."

"But I think that one is better," Yang Mi said, looking at another outfit.

And so, the two dawdled for over an hour. It was nearly noon by the time Yang Mi finally selected an outfit she was satisfied with.

As it turned out, this outfit wasn't much different from what she wore yesterday.

She had merely changed a few pieces.

Once dressed, the two headed out.

Chen Le had originally wanted to cook himself, but Yang Mi felt that since they were already in new clothes, cooking would easily make them smell like oil and smoke.

It was better to just eat out and then head to Yang Mi's house.

Thus, the two went to a restaurant outside. After eating, they rushed to Yang Mi's house without stopping.

On the way, Chen Le wanted to buy gifts for Yang Father and Mother.

Hearing Chen Le's idea, Yang Mi quickly said, "Mm, buying gifts is fine, but let's not buy anything too expensive. My parents won't bear to use gifts that are too pricey. Let's buy something practical."

Chen Le nodded upon hearing this. "Alright, let's buy some practical things."

Afterward, the two went to a large mall. Chen Le went to the general merchandise section, intending to buy some practical items as gifts.

"This Massage Chair is good; it's not very expensive and seems quite practical," Chen Le said immediately upon seeing a Massage Chair.

"That works. My dad is getting older too, and his health isn't as good as it used to be," Yang Mi said, nodding as she suddenly remembered something.

Afterward, Chen Le walked around the general merchandise section and bought many more things, all of which were practical.

Unlike the maotai he bought last time, which wasn't practical and could only be kept for its value.

As for drinking it, they wouldn't be able to bring themselves to do so.

After buying all these things, Chen Le realized there was quite a lot.

He wasn't sure if it would all fit in the car's trunk.

Fortunately, the trunk of the car Chen Le was driving was quite spacious, and even if it couldn't fit everything, there was still plenty of room in the back seat.

Once all the purchases were stuffed into the car, they drove toward Yang Mi's house.

They arrived at Yang Mi's house a little after three in the afternoon.

This time, they hadn't told Yang Father and Mother in advance. As a result, when they reached the door, they found it tightly shut.

Seeing this, Chen Le looked at Yang Mi somewhat helplessly and said, "Mi Mi, I told you we should have informed Uncle and Aunt."

Yang Mi didn't get angry at his words; instead, she gave Chen Le a playful roll of her eyes and said with a smile, "What are you afraid of? Are you afraid you won't be able to get into the house?"

Saying that, Yang Mi suddenly pulled a ring of keys from her pocket and looked at Chen Le with a grin. "Look, what's this?"

Yang Mi dangled the keys in front of Chen Le.

Chen Le was stunned for a moment when he saw the keys, then he smiled inexplicably.

This was Yang Mi's house; how could she possibly not have a key?

Yang Mi used the key to open the main door, and then the two of them moved everything from the car into Yang Mi's home.
