25: Is this kid two-timing?
On the filming set, Zhang Songwen, who had just finished his scene, walked back and spotted Naza at a glance.
Naza was a bit surprised to see Zhang Songwen. Recovering quickly, she immediately greeted him with a smile, "Hello, Teacher Zhang. I didn't expect you to be here too."
"Hello, Naza. Are you here to see Director Chen?" Zhang Songwen asked curiously.
He naturally knew Naza. During the art exams back then, she had caused quite a stir with just a single photo. As a teacher at the Beijing Film Academy, it was impossible for him not to know her.
"Yes, my scenes just wrapped up, so I came to visit Brother Le," Naza nodded with a smile.
Hearing Naza's words, Zhang Songwen nodded and then looked at Chen Le with some suspicion.
Last time it was Yang Mi, and now it's Naza. What's going on here?
Don't tell me Chen Le is also involved with Naza.
If that's the case, wouldn't Chen Le be two-timing?
Unaware of what Zhang Songwen was thinking, Chen Le said with a smile, "Naza, I still have to film right now, so I can't entertain you for the moment. Wait until I'm finished."
Naza nodded at his words.
She then had her assistant take her luggage back to the hotel while she stayed behind to watch Chen Le film.
"Teacher Songwen, let's continue. The expression in this shot is still missing something; it doesn't quite have the right feel," Chen Le said, looking at Songwen.
Seeing this, Zhang Songwen nodded. After adjusting his state, he continued filming.
To the side, Naza watched Chen Le film seriously, her eyes sparkling with light.
Chen Le filmed until evening, and Naza stayed by his side watching until then.
After the shoot, Chen Le saw Naza, who had been waiting the whole time. He walked up and said with a smile, "Naza, thanks for your hard work. You've been standing here with me for so long; let me treat you to a good meal."
Since Naza had come from so far away and waited for so long, Chen Le felt bad about just offering her a boxed lunch.
If it were just him, it wouldn't matter, but since Naza had come to see him, he couldn't be too casual.
Afterwards, Chen Le found Gang Zi, patted him, and said, "I'm taking Naza out for dinner. I'll have to trouble you tonight."
Seeing this, Gang Zi immediately nodded and then wore an \"I understand, I understand\" expression.
"Old Chen, no problem. Go ahead and accompany the girl; I'll keep an eye on things here," Gang Zi said with a grin.
Hearing Gang Zi's teasing tone, Chen Le rolled his eyes.
"Don't get any ideas, kid. Naza is just a junior schoolmate who came to visit."
"Ah, right, right, right!"
Gang Zi's face was full of disbelief. He also knew Naza—after all, the stir caused by the art exams was huge. He hadn't expected Chen Le to know Naza, let alone seem so close to her.
Seeing this, Chen Le didn't press the matter. Instead, he waved his hand and took Naza to a nice nearby restaurant for dinner.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Chen Le took out the menu, handed it to Naza, and asked with a smile, "What do you like to eat? Order whatever you want; it's my treat today."
Hearing Chen Le say this, Naza also replied with a smile, "Brother Le, since you said so, I'll just order whatever I want and give your wallet a good workout."
After saying that, Naza took the menu and ordered several dishes.
However, because there were only two of them, Naza was afraid of wasting food if they couldn't finish, so she stopped after ordering those few dishes.
"Is that all?" Chen Le thought Naza really intended to splurge on his dime, but it turned out she didn't.
"Yeah, if we order too much, the two of us won't be able to finish it. It would be too wasteful," Naza nodded; she wasn't someone who liked to waste things.
While waiting for the food, Chen Le started chatting with Naza about her filming experience.
"Naza, how did you feel about your first time filming? You didn't face any unfair treatment in the Film Crew, did you?" Chen Le asked.
Hearing Chen Le's question, Naza shook her head and said:
"I didn't receive any unfair treatment. On the contrary, Sister Shishi, Brother Hu, and the rest of the Film Crew were all very nice to me. If I did something wrong in my acting, they would point it out and teach me how to do it."
"And I think acting is quite interesting, especially after getting into character—it feels like I am that character."
Seeing this, Chen Le smiled and said, "That's good. I was worried you wouldn't be used to it, but I didn't expect you to adapt so quickly."
"Hmph, of course! Brother Le, you have no idea how fun the Film Crew is..." Naza said, sharing various fresh and fun stories from the set with Chen Le.
Chen Le listened and offered a few comments here and there.
Now that it was just her and Chen Le, Naza's chatterbox opened up. Like a child sharing gifts, she told Chen Le everything that happened while she was filming with the Film Crew.
As they chatted, the dishes they ordered were gradually served.
Within ten minutes, all the dishes had arrived.
Looking at the table full of food, Naza, who hadn't eaten much all day, her eyes lit up.
"Brother Le, I'm digging in!" Seeing the delicious food on the table, Naza abandoned her ladylike image and began to eat heartily.
Seeing this, Chen Le was quite surprised; he hadn't expected Naza to have such a side to her.
He then started eating as well.
After dinner, Chen Le escorted Naza back to her hotel.
On the way, he looked at Naza and said in a teasing tone, "Naza, I didn't expect you to have such a big appetite? You've almost caught up to me."
Hearing Chen Le's words, Naza's face flushed. She quickly explained, "This is the first time I've eaten this much! I didn't eat much all day today, so I was just a bit hungry."
"Mhm, I see," Chen Le nodded.
But Naza felt that Chen Le didn't believe her. Her face was bright red, and she secretly scolded herself for being so embarrassing.
After seeing Naza back to the hotel, Chen Le returned to the Film Crew.
After all, he couldn't really leave everything for Gang Zi to do; even if they were good brothers, he couldn't boss him around like that.
Back at the Film Crew, Chen Le saw Gang Zi filming seriously.
Seeing this, Chen Le didn't make a sound to disturb him but stood behind Gang Zi to watch.
Chen Le wanted to see if Gang Zi had learned anything from him during this time and how his directing skills were.
He had signed Gang Zi with the intention of grooming him into a veteran director.
After all, a company couldn't have only one director. If something happened to him and there was no one to take over, they would be finished.
So, training Gang Zi was also a way to plan for the future.
At the same time, it would allow him to slack off.
At this moment, Gang Zi's attention was entirely focused on the monitor. He didn't notice any movement behind him at all, nor did he realize Chen Le was right beside him.
It wasn't until he shouted \"Cut!\" and turned around that he spotted Chen Le, giving him a huge fright.
"Holy crap, Old Chen, you scared the life out of me! Do you always stand next to people without making a sound?" Gang Zi cursed. Chen Le had nearly given him a heart attack.
"When did you get back? Why aren't you accompanying your little sister anymore?" Gang Zi asked after catching his breath.
Chen Le rolled his eyes. "You were too focused on filming to notice. How can you blame me?"
"But your skill level has improved. You've indeed learned a few things from being by my side these past few days."
Hearing this, Gang Zi also rolled his eyes back.
