45: An interview from the journal *Film Art*.
The Palace Film Crew.
Yang Mi had just arrived in film studio location. She found the RV she had left there for many days and drove it to the set.
When she arrived at the set, many people were already there.
Among them was Tong Liya.
As soon as she saw Yang Mi's RV, she knew immediately that Yang Mi had arrived.
She then hurriedly walked over.
Inside the vehicle, Yang Mi had just parked when she saw Tong Liya.
So she opened the car door, and a figure suddenly darted inside.
“Mi Mi, long time no see!” Tong Liya hugged Yang Mi tightly, her face full of joy.
With a helpless expression on her face, Yang Mi patted the girl in her arms and said, “Yaya, don't hug me so tight, I'm going to run out of breath.”
Hearing this, Tong Liya let go and gave a slightly sheepish smile. “Hehe, isn't it just because I haven't seen you in so long, Mi Mi!”
A smile also appeared on Yang Mi's face. “Me too. Yaya, you seem to have gained quite a bit of weight over the New Year; your face is looking fuller.”
“I did not!” Tong Liya's face flushed red. Then she suddenly remembered something and asked, “Mi Mi, has your boyfriend's movie box office share come in yet? I saw the box office earlier; it was seventy million!”
There was a hint of envy in Tong Liya's tone because that was truly a lot of money.
Hearing this, Yang Mi shook her head and smiled. “Not yet. And even if it does come in, Old Chen will definitely use it to film a new movie.”
“Film a new movie? Is your boyfriend that diligent?”
“Haha, he really is quite hardworking.”
After Yang Mi finished speaking, she glanced at the time.
Looking at Tong Liya, she said:
“Yaya, it's getting late. We should head inside.”
They had stayed outside the set for quite a while, and they had a meeting to attend shortly.
Subsequently, the two women walked toward the set.
The staff members at the entrance saw Yang Mi and Tong Liya and nodded to greet them.
“Hello, Sister Mi. Hello, Sister Yaya,” the staff members greeted them one after another.
Although some staff members were older than Yang Mi and the others, this was a place where seniority and ability mattered, so it wasn't surprising.
Yang Mi and Tong Liya continued walking inside and soon arrived at the lounge.
Seeing the other lead actors, Yang Mi went up to greet them with a smile.
“Mi Mi, Yaya, you're here.” Feng Shaofeng greeted Yang Mi and Yaya with a smile.
“Brother Feng, you're here so early.” Yaya looked at Feng Shaofeng and said with a playful smile.
“It's alright. Our Director Yu is the one who arrived the earliest.” Saying that, Feng Shaofeng looked toward the door. At the entrance, Director Yu was currently carrying quite a few things.
Director Yu walked in, saw Yang Mi and the others, and said with a smile, “Is everyone here? Come, these are some local specialties I brought back from my hometown. Take some and try them.”
After speaking, Director Yu distributed the local specialties to the Film Crew.
After distributing the specialties, Director Yu announced that the filming for the new year had officially begun... Meanwhile, Chen Le was in his rental apartment.
A phone call suddenly came in. Chen Le checked his phone and saw it was a call from Manager Zhang.
“Hello, Manager Zhang, what's the matter?” Chen Le's voice carried a hint of fatigue.
“President Chen, Film Art magazine wants to interview you. Do you want to accept?” Manager Zhang's slightly neutral voice sounded.
“Film Art?” Hearing this, Chen Le immediately remembered something.
This magazine was quite famous in the industry and had a high level of recognition.
“I'll accept the interview. Go and tell them.” Chen Le accepted the interview immediately.
After all, this was an opportunity to increase his fame; he certainly couldn't miss it.
“Alright, President Chen.”
Afterward, Manager Zhang hung up the phone and communicated with the people from Film Art regarding the interview details.
Once Manager Zhang had communicated and agreed on a time and place with them, she called Chen Le again.
“Saturday? That works... Mingyuan Cafe, it's not far from here, that's fine too.” Upon learning the time and location, Chen Le agreed directly.
The appointed day soon arrived. Chen Le reached the interview location early—a cafe full of modern and artistic atmosphere.
The interview was to take place in a private room within the cafe, which was relatively quiet and free from outside interference.
When Chen Le walked into the private room, he saw several people already waiting inside.
In the room, the interview equipment had already been set up, just waiting for Chen Le to arrive.
The host was a gentle and elegant middle-aged man.
At his first glance of Chen Le, he felt that Chen Le was very young.
Previously, he had only learned about Chen Le through some entertainment news. Now that they had met, he realized that this youthfulness was real.
He was dazed for a moment but quickly regained his professional attitude and warmly extended his hand:
“Hello, I am Li Yang from Film Art. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you Director Chen of lost on journey?”
“Hello, Teacher Li. I am Chen Le, the Director and screenwriter of lost on journey. It is an honor to be interviewed by you,” Chen Le responded politely.
After confirming each other's identities, the two smiled at each other, and the atmosphere instantly became relaxed.
Subsequently, Chen Le underwent the pre-interview preparations.
Simple makeup was applied so that Chen Le could face the camera in his best state.
As the camera started, the formal interview began.
“First of all, Director Chen, I would like to congratulate you on the huge success of your movie. The box office result of 70 million is very impressive. Could you share with us what your original intention was when you created this film?” Li Yang was the first to ask.
“Thank you. I created lost on journey because I wanted to bring joy to everyone. My first movie, nightclub, was a low-budget comedy...” Chen Le spoke eloquently, handling Li Yang's questions with ease.
As the topic deepened, Li Yang asked curiously:
“Director Chen, regarding the movie lost on journey, in terms of casting, I heard you discovered a very promising newcomer named Wang Baoqiang. How did you find him?”
Hearing this, Chen Le couldn't help but laugh:
“Haha, well, it's actually quite interesting. That day, I happened to be eating at a roadside food stall, and Baoqiang just happened to be sitting next to me.
Among the few of them, I spotted him at a glance. Although he was dressed plainly, there was a streak of stubbornness in his eyes that refused to admit defeat. I thought to myself, isn't this the Niu Geng I'm looking for! So, I got his contact information. At that time, his friends saw how young I was and were worried I was a scammer!”
Chen Le's humorous response made everyone present laugh, and the interview atmosphere became even more harmonious.
During the rest of the interview, they discussed the film's script creation and interesting anecdotes during the filming process.
As the interview ended, Li Yang sighed sincerely, “Director Chen, you are truly talented, and your understanding of film is very deep. I look forward to you bringing more excellent works in the future.”
“Thank you for the affirmation, Teacher Li. I will continue to work hard,” Chen Le responded modestly.
Afterward, the interview concluded.
“Thank you, Director Chen, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to participate in our interview. Take care on your way out.”
