171: Post-production editing!

Not long after Chen Le got out of bed, Naza also woke up.

Seeing that Chen Le wasn't beside her, she knew he was already up.

She then got up, glanced at the mess in the room, and feeling a bit uncomfortable, ran to the bathroom to take a shower.

To her surprise, she saw Chen Le already in the bathroom.

"Brother Le, what a coincidence, you're here too!" Seeing this, Naza turned to run, but he grabbed her and pulled her back.

An hour later, it was three o'clock in the afternoon.

Chen Le headed out.

Upon arriving at the company, the head of post-production editing immediately sought out Chen Le.

"Boss, when will the post-production editing for the new movie begin?" the person in charge asked.

"Have you all seen the raw footage?" Chen Le asked.

"We've all seen it," the person in charge nodded immediately.

"Alright, we can start now. I'll give you some guidance on how to do it," Chen Le said before heading to the post-production work area.

Several staff members were busy categorizing the raw footage to facilitate the upcoming editing process.

They only stopped what they were doing and greeted Chen Le when they saw him approaching.

"Carry on with your work; I'm here to guide you on how to produce it."

...Chen Le stayed busy at the company until around nine or ten o'clock at night before returning to Naza's place, where she was already getting ready for bed.

"Brother Le, why are you back so late?" Naza asked with concern.

She knew Chen Le had gone to the company to work on the movie's post-production; after all, wrapping up filming didn't mean the work was over.

Post-production was even more important.

"It's fine, it's just late today. In a couple of days, once they get the hang of it, they won't have to work this late," Chen Le said with a smile, patting Naza on the shoulder.

"Have you eaten yet?" Naza asked again.

"I ate a long time ago. You should go to sleep; don't you have class tomorrow? Don't be late again," Chen Le said, waving his hand.

Hearing his words, Naza's face flushed. She grumbled shyly, "The reason I was late today was because of you."

But she was also afraid Chen Le might want another round, which would make it really hard to explain to her teacher.

So she went back to her room and went straight to sleep.

The next day, when Chen Le woke up, Naza had prepared breakfast.

Conveniently, Naza went to class while he went to work.

At the company, he continued to be busy with the movie's post-production.

Today, Zhao Sheng also returned.

When he arrived at the company and saw the rapid progress of the post-production work, he couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement.

"Director Chen, is your post-production work always this fast?"

Even though he had seen it once before, seeing it again still left him somewhat in disbelief.

Chen Le not only filmed movies quickly but also handled post-production with incredible speed.

While others might not even finish one movie a year, Chen Le managed to release two and still had plenty of time to rest.

Not only that, the quality of the movies was high; despite the short time spent, every release was a masterpiece and an instant hit.

"It's alright, the progress is just beginning," Chen Le said with a smile upon seeing Zhao Sheng.

"Boss, can I watch how you edit the film?" Zhao Sheng asked.

"Sure, come take a look," Chen Le agreed.

Joy spread across Zhao Sheng's face when he heard Chen Le agree.

There was no helping it; Chen Le's editing speed was simply too fast. He had only been back for a few days and had already finished editing over ten minutes of the film.

When they reached the post-production room, the team members immediately gathered around upon seeing Chen Le.

"Boss, could you check if this segment meets your requirements?" a member named Li Zheng walked over and asked, pointing at his computer.

"Let me see," Chen Le nodded and went to his computer.

Seeing this, Zhao Sheng also leaned in to take a look.

"Overall, this is not bad, but the details still need work. For instance, this part is cut too short; there should be another segment after the raw footage. Just extend it by three or four seconds," Chen Le pointed out to Li Zheng.

"I understand, Boss," Li Zheng nodded.

Afterward, Chen Le discussed some other issues with him.

Just then, another member approached; he was the colorist.

He pointed at the color bars on the screen: "Director Chen, how is my segment?"

Hearing this, Chen Le walked over.

After glancing at the screen, he said, "I think the colors for this night scene could be slightly darkened, with some blue tones added."

"OK, I've got it, Director Chen," the colorist nodded.

Zhao Sheng watched from the side, completely stunned.

Only after resolving the issues for the post-production team members did Chen Le leave the studio.

In Chen Le's office, Zhao Sheng couldn't help but remark, "Director Chen, the company's post-production team is quite impressive!"

"They are indeed good," Chen Le nodded with a smile.

He also thought they were good, mainly because they were obedient; they would change whatever he told them to without a word and didn't have too many ideas of their own.

After chatting a bit more with Zhao Sheng, the latter took his leave.

In the afternoon, after finishing his guidance on the post-production work, Chen Le suddenly received a message from Naza.

"Brother Le, I'm done with class. Are you busy right now?"

"Not busy. Is something up, Naza?" Chen Le replied.

"I want to go to the mall and buy some new clothes. Can you come with me?" After sending the message, Naza felt a bit nervous, not knowing if Brother Le would have the time.

"Sure! Where are you? I'll come pick you up."

Seeing this message, a happy smile appeared on Naza's face.

"I'm at school. I'll wait for you."

Chen Le put away his phone after seeing the message.

Soon, he drove to the entrance of the Beijing Film Academy.

Naza recognized Chen Le's car at a glance and ran over with a skip in her step.

Once she was in the car, Chen Le spoke: "Naza, where do you want to go? I'll take you there."

"This place." Naza took out her phone and showed the location on the map to Chen Le.

"Alright, I got it," Chen Le nodded.

He then drove her to that location.

"Brother Le, how is the post-production for your new movie going?" Naza asked with concern.

"It's going quite smoothly," Chen Le replied with a smile.

"Mhm, that's good."

They chatted idly and soon arrived at the place Naza wanted to go.

It was a commercial plaza with a large shopping center.

After parking, Chen Le led her into the shopping center.

Many businesses were gathered here, offering everything for dining, drinking, and entertainment.

"Naza, what made you want to come here?" Chen Le asked curiously, looking at the bustling shopping center.

"I found it online. It said there's a clothing store here that sells really nice clothes. I saw an outfit I want to buy," Naza told the truth.

Of course, she didn't tell him everything.
