161: The Mermaid King knows!
After all the Film Crew members joined the wechat work group, filming continued.
"Director Chen, this villa is quite large!"
In a certain villa district in Bin City, there was a villa where the Film Crew members were preparing to shoot.
"It's alright. It's big, but the rent is also quite expensive," Chen Le said with a smile upon hearing Yin Zheng's remark.
"What scene are we filming today?" Yin Zheng asked curiously.
"Does 'beauty emerging from the bath' count?" Chen Le joked with a smile.
"Cough, cough." Yin Zheng coughed twice, clearly not expecting Chen Le to say that.
"Alright, enough talk. Let's film first," Chen Le waved his hand.
This was a night scene, so they only arrived in the afternoon.
After dark, the Film Crew members had all arrived and prepared the filming equipment. Shen Teng and the others walked to the edge of the swimming pool.
"Wang Zhi, Shen Teng, are you ready?" Chen Le shouted.
"Ready," Wang Zhi and Shen Teng nodded.
"Alright, you get in the water first," Chen Le said, looking at Wang Zhi.
The current temperature wasn't high, so asking Wang Zhi to get into the water really required perseverance.
However, as a Northerner, she didn't find this temperature completely unbearable.
Chen Le had also arranged for warm water to be added to the pool beforehand so it wouldn't be too cold.
Furthermore, he aimed to get this scene in one take so Wang Zhi wouldn't have to stay in the water for long.
"Mm." Hearing Chen Le's instruction, Wang Zhi unbuttoned the trench coat draped over her shoulders, revealing the white bikini underneath.
It had to be said that Wang Zhi had a great figure; although everyone had professional ethics, they couldn't help but steal a few glances.
Then, Wang Zhi stepped into the pool.
Seeing this, Chen Le immediately signaled everyone to prepare for filming.
"Okay, Wang Zhi, are you ready? Filming is about to start," Chen Le asked.
"I'm ready," Wang Zhi waved her hand from the water.
"Okay! Action!"
Filming began. Wang Zhi swam a lap in the water, then came to the edge of the pool, held onto the side with both hands, and leaped out of the water.
Her hair sent splashes of water flying as she tossed it back.
Beside them, Yuan Hua, played by Yin Zheng, stared blankly.
He was playing himself here; the shock was real, and his staring eyes were real too.
Then, Wang Zhi pushed herself up from the edge and stepped out of the pool.
"Cut!" Chen Le shouted.
This segment was completed perfectly.
Nearby, a staff member immediately handed over a towel and Wang Zhi's trench coat.
After briefly drying herself, she put on the trench coat and walked over to Chen Le.
"Director Chen, how was that take?" Wang Zhi asked with a smile.
"Very good, one take. You can take a look," Chen Le nodded with a smile.
Wang Zhi was also curious about how the segment she just filmed looked.
Seeing herself on the monitor, Wang Zhi nodded.
She hadn't expected she could film such a sexy scene.
She didn't have any overly shy thoughts; since she had chosen to film this, she should naturally show it off confidently. Being bashful would just seem too affected.
"Okay, go take a break and dry your hair so you don't catch a cold," Chen Le said caringly.
"Okay, Director Chen," Wang Zhi said before heading toward the lounge.
Only after she returned did they start filming the next scene, which was Yuan Hua telling Charlotte about how Ma Dongmei was almost assaulted back then.
"Okay, continue filming!"
Sitting by the pool, Yin Zheng stared blankly at Wang Zhi. Beside him, Song Yang flicked his temple and said, "Stop looking! She's the Boss's Wife now!"
Yin Zheng tilted his head, but his eyes still couldn't help but drift back there.
"Why are you still peeking?" Song Yang flicked him again, frowning.
"Yuan Hua, I've actually always admired you. Back in school, your talent was leaking out from the sides," Shen Teng said, looking at Yin Zheng.
Having been reborn, Charlotte had already gained both fame and fortune. In contrast, Yuan Hua had become a fisherman at an estuary. Such a contrast was sigh-inducing.
"Leaking out, leaking out," Yin Zheng said somewhat awkwardly.
"Could you improvise a poem based on my current outfit?" Shen Teng said with a smile.
This sentence felt familiar; now the tables had turned.
"I'm afraid my poems are all critical," Yin Zheng said, stifling a laugh.
He didn't know why, but he felt like laughing upon hearing that.
"It's fine," Shen Teng said immediately.
"I'll try," Yin Zheng nodded.
Then, he began to improvise a poem: "Heroic and valiant in a rooster suit, flying up the branch to surpass the phoenix!"
"Good! Your talent hasn't diminished since back then!" Shen Teng clapped.
Soon, this scene was finished.
Time flew by, and April arrived.
Zhang Li sent a message to Chen Le, telling him that the Huabiao Awards were about to be held.
The Huabiao Awards are hosted by the China Film Administration and held every two years, carrying high authority in the Chinese film industry.
The most classic aspect of the Huabiao Awards is its trophy, which uses the design of the Huabiao pillars in front of the Tiananmen gate tower in Yanjing.
"Boss, I have good news. The Huabiao Awards are coming up, and our company's 'Hello, Mr. Tree' has successfully been nominated for two awards: best actor and best director award."
"Are the Huabiao Awards being held so soon?" Chen Le was a bit surprised to hear this news.
"Yes, Boss. The Huabiao Awards organizers have already released the list of nominees," Zhang Li said with certainty.
"Alright, I got it. I'll be back before the Huabiao Awards are held," Chen Le replied to her with a smile.
Beside him, Shen Teng saw Chen Le's happy expression and immediately became curious.
However, he didn't dare ask, so Li Liqun finally spoke up.
"Director Chen, what good thing happened? Why so happy?" Li Liqun asked teasingly.
"Haha, Teacher Li Liqun, my previous movie received nominations for the Huabiao Awards," Chen Le told him the good news with a smile.
"Your previous movie? Is it that 'Hello, Mr. Tree'?" Li Liqun was stunned for a moment upon hearing Chen Le's words, then remembered Chen Le's previous film.
"Yes, that's the one, starring Wang Baoqiang," Chen Le nodded.
"Starring Wang Baoqiang! I've seen that one. I think his acting is very good; for an actor who didn't come from a professional background, his acting is surprisingly great," Li Liqun praised with a smile.
Regarding Wang Baoqiang, he still admired this young man.
"By the way, how many nominations did this movie get?" Li Liqun asked again.
"Two: one for best actor and one for best director award," Chen Le didn't hide it, as these were public matters that could be found with a search.
Besides, getting a nomination didn't guarantee winning an award; wasn't that the case with the Hundred Flowers Awards last time?
"Not bad. There should be great hope for both of these awards," Li Liqun nodded.
"Haha, then I'll take your word for it," Chen Le said with a smile.
He still felt somewhat confident in his heart.
