111: Chapter 111: So what if it's drugs? I've seen plenty in nightclubs.
At five in the morning, the medical room was silent.
Su Qingcheng snapped her eyes open, her pupils constricting slightly in the dim light.
Her body still felt the lingering soreness from the electric shocks, but her consciousness was exceptionally clear.
She turned her head to look out the window—it wasn't light yet, and the training base was shrouded in a hazy morning mist.
"Awake?" A low voice came from the doorway.
Su Qingcheng turned her head and saw Zhou Mo leaning against the doorframe, holding a cup of steaming hot, strong tea.
There were faint dark circles under his eyes; he had clearly stayed up all night.
"Instructor Zhou..." Su Qingcheng struggled to sit up, her voice raspy. "Where are the others?"
"They're all sleeping." Zhou Mo walked in and placed the teacup on the nightstand. "Drink this; it'll help soothe the nerve pain."
Su Qingcheng took the teacup, the scalding touch making her fingertips turn slightly red.
She lowered her head and took a sip. The bitter liquid slid down her throat, leaving a strange, sweet aftertaste.
"What is this?" she asked with a frown.
"A special medicinal tea with some sedative components added." Zhou Mo pulled over a chair and sat down, looking at her with a complex gaze. "The Chief Instructor told me to keep an eye on you all to ensure no one suffered severe nerve damage."
Su Qingcheng was silent for a moment before suddenly looking up. "How do you plan to torture us today? Given our current state, you're probably looking for that final push, aren't you?"
Zhou Mo's fingers paused for a second, then he shook his head. "I can't say."
"Hallucinogens, right?" Su Qingcheng's voice was soft, yet exceptionally certain.
Zhou Mo looked up sharply, a flash of shock in his eyes. "How did you—"
"My father was a narcotics officer."
Su Qingcheng's fingertips unconsciously rubbed the rim of the cup. "I've been on the Dark Web, researched people tortured by drugs... and I've seen POW reports where Hallucinogens were used during interrogations."
Zhou Mo's Adam's apple bobbed once, and he finally let out a sigh.
"Are you afraid?"
"No." Su Qingcheng raised her head, her gaze as sharp as a blade. "I'm just wondering what my Great-grandfather... no, what the Chief Instructor actually wants us to face in the hallucinations."
Zhou Mo didn't answer.
Because just then, the medical room door was pushed open, and Su Han walked in with steady steps.
"Awake?" His gaze fell on Su Qingcheng. "Good timing, saves me the trouble of calling you."
Su Qingcheng immediately put down the teacup and straightened her back. "Report, Chief Instructor! No. 5 requests to return to the unit!"
The corners of Su Han's mouth curled up slightly. "No rush. Eat breakfast first."
He snapped his fingers, and Monkey pushed a dining cart inside, laden with steaming buns, soy milk, and eggs.
"Eat it all," Su Han ordered. "Assemble at the training ground in one hour."
Su Qingcheng stared at the food, and a sudden pang of sharp pain shot through her stomach—she hadn't eaten a proper meal in far too long.
But she didn't move immediately; instead, she looked at Su Han warily. "Is this another kind of test?"
Su Han gave a light chuckle. "Relax, it's not poisoned."
Zhou Mo couldn't help but interject, "Chief Instructor, their nervous systems have just undergone electric shocks and sensitizers. Using Hallucinogens now, wouldn't that—"
"On the battlefield, this is exactly the move an enemy will use when they're about to break!" Su Han interrupted him, his gaze suddenly turning sharp.
Zhou Mo was left speechless.
Su Qingcheng took a deep breath, reached out to pick up a bun, and took a large bite.
The rich meat juice exploded in her mouth, and her stomach immediately spasmed with satisfaction.
On the training ground, the seven female soldiers were lined up neatly.
Their condition was much better than yesterday, but fatigue and alertness still lingered in their eyes.
No. 7 Li Xue's fingers were unconsciously tugging at the hem of her fatigue jacket, and while No. 12 Lin Yu's left leg was bandaged, it still trembled slightly as she stood.
No. 18 Zhang Meng, on the other hand, was like a she-wolf poised to strike, her eyes fixed forward.
Su Han stood before them with his hands behind his back, with members of the War Eagle Squad pushing a medical cart behind him.
"Today's content is very simple," Su Han said, getting straight to the point. "Hallucinogen-simulated interrogation."
The female soldiers' breathing visibly hitched.
"This drug will amplify your emotions and blur the line between reality and hallucination."
Su Han's voice was as calm as if he were giving a weather report. "The enemy will exploit this to make you leak information while your spirit is broken."
He walked to the medical cart and picked up a syringe filled with a pale blue liquid. "One dose each, with effects lasting about two hours. During this time, you will be held in solitary confinement and undergo 'interrogation'."
No. 18 Zhang Meng suddenly sneered. "Isn't it just doing drugs? I've seen plenty of that in nightclubs!"
Su Han raised an eyebrow at her. "Nightclub Hallucinogens only make you high, but this—"
He shook the syringe. "—will make you see what you fear most in your heart."
Zhang Meng's smile froze on her face.
"Now," Su Han's gaze swept over everyone, "I'll ask once more as a courtesy: does anyone want to quit?"
Silence.
"Very well." Su Han nodded. "Inject them."
The members of the War Eagle Squad stepped forward and injected the drug into each female soldier.
The moment the needle pierced her skin, Su Qingcheng felt a trace of cold liquid flow into her veins, followed by a strange sensation of lightheadedness.
"Take them to the Isolation Rooms," Su Han ordered.
The female soldiers were led separately into seven small, airtight rooms.
Su Qingcheng's room contained only an iron chair and a dim desk lamp.
She was strapped to the chair, her wrists and ankles secured by special restraint bands.
The drug began to take effect.
At first, it was just subtle ripples at the edge of her vision, like the distortion of air when heat rises.
But soon, the entire room began to spin, and the walls flowed like liquid.
Su Qingcheng blinked hard, trying to stay conscious, but the scene before her eyes grew more and more bizarre—
"Qingcheng."
Su Qingcheng looked up sharply, her pupils contracting abruptly.
Her father was standing in front of her.
He was wearing that crisp police uniform, but there was a gruesome bloody hole in his chest. Blood poured out continuously, dripping onto the floor with a rhythmic "drip, drip" sound.
"Dad...?" Su Qingcheng's voice trembled.
"Why didn't you come to save me?" Her father's voice carried an endless sorrow. "That day, I clearly could have survived..."
"No... that's not it..." Su Qingcheng struggled violently, the restraint bands cutting deep into her flesh. "I..."
"Do you hate me?" Her father's face suddenly became distorted. "Do you hate me for leaving you and Mom?"
The hallucination grew stronger, and her father's figure split into several, surrounding her and repeating the same questions.
Su Qingcheng's temples throbbed, and cold sweat soaked through her fatigue jacket.
Just then, the door was pushed open, and Su Han walked in.
He asked coldly, "Just tell me your unit designation, and I will bring your father back so your family can be reunited."
Su Qingcheng's vision was blurred; the Su Han before her eyes sometimes turned into her father and sometimes into a hideous enemy.
"I... I am..." Her voice was so hoarse it was barely recognizable.
