137: Chapter 137: Best Friend! And his mother's first love too?!

Evening, the sunset was sinking in the west.

Su Han stood before the full-length mirror, adjusting the collar of his suit.

The custom-made clothes fit his physique perfectly, making his shoulder line look even more upright.

The light gray shirt underneath was slightly unbuttoned at the collar, faintly revealing the scars on his collarbone.

“Great-grandfather is so handsome!” Xiao Budian circled around him, her small face full of admiration.

Xiao Nuan helped him smooth out non-existent wrinkles on his clothes, muttering, “Why dress so nicely? It's not like you're going on a blind date...”

Su Han laughed despite himself: “My other clothes are all quite old. I can't exactly wear old clothes there; it would be impolite.”

He moved his shoulders a bit; the wound was still somewhat uncomfortable, but it no longer affected his normal movements.

“Let's go.” He picked up his phone and checked the time. “It’s almost six o'clock.”

Su Wu was already waiting in the courtyard. Black Panther crouched at his feet, and upon seeing Su Han come out, it immediately wagged its tail excitedly.

“Is Little Black going too?” Su Han raised an eyebrow.

“He refuses to stay home no matter what,” Su Wu said helplessly. “As soon as he heard we were going out, he blocked the car door and wouldn't let us close it.”

Black Panther gave a “woof,” as if proving his determination.

Su Han rubbed its head: “Fine, come along, but you aren't allowed into our private room, understood?”

Black Panther immediately sat up straight, tucked its tail in properly, and put on an “I'm very obedient” look.

Su Wu smiled: “It’s fine. You guys eat yours, and we’ll eat ours in the room next door. I guarantee we won't bother you.”

The group got into the car. Su Wu drove the low-profile black Mercedes toward the Regent Hotel.

On the way, Xiao Nuan kept staring nervously at Su Han: “Brother, if the wound hurts, tell me immediately!”

“I know, little housekeeper,” Su Han said helplessly.

Xiao Budian leaned against the car window, curiously watching the neon lights flashing past: “Great-grandfather, what is a school reunion for?”

“It's just former classmates who studied together getting together for a meal and a chat,” Su Han explained.

“Oh...” Xiao Budian nodded as if she understood, “Then will they fight with Great-grandfather?”

“Pfft—” Su Wu almost burst out laughing.

Su Han didn't know whether to laugh or cry: “Of course not. We're going to reminisce about the past, not to fight.”

“But on TV...” Xiao Budian wanted to say more, but Xiao Nuan covered her mouth.

“Watch less TV!” Xiao Nuan glared.

Su Han instinctively looked at Xiao Nuan: “It seems you watch quite a lot too...”

Xiao Nuan’s pretty face turned red, and she made a face at him.

The car slowly stopped at the entrance of the Regent Hotel, where golden lights made the building look magnificent.

Just as Su Han was about to get out, Xiao Nuan suddenly grabbed his sleeve: “Brother, be careful... don't drink.”

Su Han’s heart warmed, and he pinched her cheek: “Don't worry.”

At the entrance of the Regent Hotel, the golden light spilled over Su Han, outlining his upright silhouette.

Just as Su Han stepped onto the stairs, a familiar weird shout suddenly came from behind: "Holy shit! Su Han?!"

Su Han's footsteps paused, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously curled up—

He had listened to this voice for three years. From seventh to ninth grade, it accompanied that mischievous tone every day during morning self-study when climbing over walls, during lunch breaks when sneaking to internet cafes, and after school when hiding in the bathroom to smoke.

Even though Su Han had transmigrated to occupy this body.

Those memories from the very marrow of his bones were still so natural and profound.

Before he could even turn around, a figure had already pounced over, jumping directly onto his back: "My man! It's been two years, I missed you to death!"

Su Han was knocked into a stagger, and a sharp pain shot through the wound on his back, but he didn't make a sound. Instead, he laughed and reached back, flipping the person in front of him: "Zhao Xiaodao, you're still so damn crazy!"

The teenager standing in front of him wore an oversized trendy T-shirt, an exaggerated metal chain around his neck, and his messy blue-dyed hair stood up in all directions. He looked exactly like the delinquent youth from back then.

Only his eyes held a bit more maturity, and the Patek Philippe on his wrist revealed his status as a second-generation rich kid.

"Not bad, being in the army really is different, look at those moves!" Zhao Xiaodao rubbed his butt and grimaced, then suddenly leaned in to stare at Su Han's face, "Wait... why is your face so pale?"

Su Han calmly pulled back: "I didn't sleep well last night."

"Bullshit!" Zhao Xiaodao suddenly lowered his voice, "I can see your walking posture isn't right. Are you injured?"

Su Han's heart jolted.

After three years, this guy was still so sharp.

Back when he had a cold and fever, Zhao Xiaodao was also the first to notice his complexion was off and insisted on skipping class to buy him medicine.

Zhao Xiaodao hooked an arm around his neck, his voice suddenly choking up, "You damn well went off to the army without a word back then, didn't even leave any contact info... I thought you never planned to see me again in this life!"

Su Han gave a bitter smile: “Phones aren't allowed in the unit, and the training tasks were heavy.”

“Sorry.”

"Get lost! Who wants your apology!" Zhao Xiaodao punched him hard, but his eyes were red.

Looking at this person before him, Su Han also felt a sense of closeness.

In the original owner's memory, Zhao Xiaodao was the only person in the class besides the homeroom teacher who knew about his background.

Just like Xiao Nuan, the rest of the class didn't know about his family situation.

But he got along well with Zhao Xiaodao, and Zhao Xiaodao would run off to find him during summer and winter breaks.

As they were talking, the hotel doors opened again, and Xiao Nuan walked over: “Brother! What are you guys chatting about at the door? Why haven't you gone in yet!”

Zhao Xiaodao's eyes lit up: “Yo! Who's this pretty girl?”

“My sister, Xiao Nuan,” Su Han introduced. “Xiao Nuan, this is Zhao Xiaodao, my junior high classmate.”

“Wait! I remember you guys have met before?”

“When you came to my house during summer and winter breaks, didn't Xiao Nuan tag along with us a few times?”

At those words, Zhao Xiaodao and Xiao Nuan both suddenly remembered.

“You're Brother Xiaodao?!”

“Snot-nose?!”

Xiao Nuan immediately pouted: “You're the Snot-nose!”

Zhao Xiaodao laughed heartily and reached out to pat Xiao Nuan's head: “A girl really does change as she grows up. Only two or three years and you've grown so tall!”

As Zhao Xiaodao spoke, he suddenly caught sight of Xiao Budian standing behind Xiao Nuan, and his eyes widened. “Th—this couldn't be your daughter, could it?!”

Xiao Budian tilted her head and studied Zhao Xiaodao, then suddenly asked in a crisp voice: “Uncle, are you Great-grandfather's classmate?”

“Gre—Great-grandfather?!” Zhao Xiaodao was completely bewildered.

“Holy crap! I knew you were of the grandfather generation, but I didn't expect that after just a few years, you'd become a Great-grandfather?”

Su Han said: “Back then my eldest brother lived in the city. Xiao Budian was already born, you just hadn't seen her.”

“Alright! Let’s head up.”

After Su Han waved to his family, he led Zhao Xiaodao toward the elevator.

After taking a few steps, Zhao Xiaodao suddenly remembered something and leaned in mysteriously: "By the way, your first love, Lin Ruoxue, is here too."

Su Han's footsteps paused. A slender figure with a high ponytail who always sat in the front row of the classroom appeared in his mind.

“Uh...”

There really is a damn first love?!
