112: Chapter 112: This female soldier has an incredibly strong will!

"Unit designation?" Su Han continued to press.

"Peoples Liberation Army of Huaxia..." Su Qingcheng squeezed out the words with difficulty.

"Not enough." Su Han suddenly leaned down and grabbed her hair, "I want your real name! How did your father die? What did he say before he died?!"

These words were like a sharp knife, stabbing ruthlessly into Su Qingcheng's heart.

Her pupils contracted violently, and the boundary between the hallucinations before her eyes and reality completely collapsed—

She saw her father lying in a pool of blood, the enemy pointing a gun at his head.

And she stood not far away, a gun in her hand, yet she couldn't pull the trigger no matter what.

"Shoot!" her father shouted at her, "Kill me! You can't let them take me alive!"

"No... I can't..." Su Qingcheng murmured unconsciously, tears blurring her vision.

Su Han's voice was like a demon's whisper: "Your father was a coward. He clearly could have escaped, but he insisted on playing the hero. He deserved to die, didn't he?"

"Shut up!!!" Su Qingcheng suddenly erupted with a heart-wrenching roar, her muscles tensing to their limit, making the restraints creak and groan.

Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared death at Su Han: "My father was a hero! He saved his teammates! He—"

Before she could finish, a sharp pain suddenly spread from her heart to her entire body.

She arched her body abruptly, a painful whimper escaping her throat.

...

Zhang Meng was tied to an iron chair, sweat dripping from her short hair.

Under the influence of the hallucinogen, the scene before her began to twist and deform.

Monkey stood before her wearing a black mask, his voice processed through a voice changer: "Number 18, tell me your real name."

"Go to hell!" Zhang Meng spat, but found her own voice sounding as if it were coming from a great distance.

Suddenly, the room turned into the adobe house of Zhang Meng's hometown. Her mother, on her sickbed, coughed violently, the blood she coughed up staining the bedding red.

"Mom?!" Zhang Meng struggled fiercely, the restraints cutting deep into her wrists.

"Daughter..." Her mother weakly reached out her hand, "Medicine... the money for medicine..."

Monkey's sinister voice rang in her ear: "As long as you tell us your unit designation, we will immediately send your mother to the best hospital."

Zhang Meng's eyes were bloodshot. She saw the empty medicine bottles by her mother's bedside—her last memory before joining the army.

"No... this is a hallucination..." She shook her head desperately, but she could smell the heavy scent of blood in the air.

"Look at your mother!" Monkey grabbed her hair, forcing her to look at the sickbed, "What use is being a soldier? You can't even scrape together the money for her treatment!"

Zhang Meng's breathing became increasingly rapid.

She saw her mother's hand drop limply, her pupils beginning to dilate...

"Mom! No!!" she screamed hysterically, her muscles tensing to the limit as the chair made an overburdened creaking sound.

The illusion shifted abruptly.

Zhang Meng found herself standing in the corridor of the Military Region hospital. The attending doctor was holding a thick stack of bills: "Ms. Zhang, your mother's condition can't be delayed any longer."

"I... I have money!" Zhang Meng reached into her pocket, only to pull out a text message showing a bank card balance of zero.

Monkey's voice came from behind: "Is a Special Forces Soldier's allowance enough? We know the price the drug dealers are offering—one piece of intel is enough for your mother to live for ten years."

Zhang Meng spun around and saw Su Han holding a briefcase full of cash.

Her gaze shifted back and forth between the cash and the hospital room, a low growl like a trapped beast coming from her throat.

"Think about why you came to be a soldier." Monkey suddenly changed his tone, his voice becoming clear, "Was it really for that bit of allowance?"

These words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Zhang Meng's head.

She vaguely remembered the day she enlisted, what her mother had said while forcing her sick body to see her off at the village entrance: "Daughter, if you're going to be a soldier, be the best one..."

"I... I am..." Zhang Meng's eyes gradually focused, "Peoples Liberation Army of Huaxia..."

Zhang Meng's teeth were already biting her tongue, the taste of blood spreading in her mouth. Her pupils contracted violently as the illusion of her mother and Monkey's figure overlapped, two completely different voices echoing in her ears—

"Daughter... Mom can't hold on..."

"One piece of intel is enough for your mother to live for ten years!"

"I am... Peoples Liberation Army of Huaxia..." Zhang Meng repeated mechanically, sharp pain coming from the tip of her tongue.

At the very moment she was about to bite down, Monkey lunged forward, his fingers like iron pincers suddenly pinching her jaw.

"Number 18! Wake up!" Monkey's roar pierced through the fog of the hallucinogen.

Zhang Meng's eyes were unfocused, a trail of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

Without hesitation, Monkey pulled a sedative from his waist and plunged the needle into her jugular vein.

"Ugh—" Zhang Meng's body convulsed violently, the restraints making a tearing sound under the strain.

Three seconds later, she slumped in the chair like a puppet with its strings cut.

Monkey wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and pressed his communicator: "Report, Number 18 showed self-harm behavior. Situation controlled."

...

In Su Qingcheng's interrogation room, Su Han was leaning down, staring into her bloodshot eyes.

"Who is your commander?" Su Han's voice was like an ice pick, "Tell us, and we'll let you see him one last time."

In Su Qingcheng's vision, her father's figure kept twisting in the pool of blood.

She saw her childhood self hiding in the wardrobe, watching through the crack as a drug dealer pressed a gun to the back of her father's head.

"Shoot..." In the hallucination, her father suddenly turned his head, his gaze piercing through time and space to look directly at her present self, "Qingcheng... shoot..."

A beast-like whimper came from Su Qingcheng's throat. The restraints cut deep into her wrists, blood dripping from them.

Just as her mind was about to break, the cup of medicinal tea from the infirmary suddenly surfaced in her memory—Zhou Mo had said it contained sedative components.

"It's... the medicine..." She struggled to focus her attention, pressing her tongue against the roof of her mouth and using an Acupoint Stimulation Method her father had taught her to stay conscious, "This isn't real..."

In the monitoring room, Zhou Mo suddenly stood up: "This girl is using her own way to fight the drug!"

The technical staff nearby immediately pulled up the data: "Her adrenaline levels are rising abnormally; her body is autonomously fighting the hallucinogen!"

"This female soldier's willpower is too strong!"

"Out of the seven female soldiers, she's the only one to reach this level!"
