4: Chapter 4: Participating in the All-Army Military Skills Competition?!

Cold sweat trickled down the Regimental Commander's forehead and along his cheeks.

He quickly walked to Su Han's side and whispered, "Kid, can you really do this? Now is not the time to show off!"

Su Han's lips curled up slightly. "Don't worry, Commander. I promise not to disgrace our regiment."

He stared into Su Han's eyes for two seconds before gritting his teeth. "Fine! If you perform well, I'll apply for a Third-Class Merit for you!"

"Yes! Thank you, Commander!"

In the army, achieving great results in front of such a high-ranking leader definitely qualified one for a Third-Class Merit.

In his previous life, when Su Han was in the New Recruit Company, a leader from Headquarters came for an inspection and merely praised a certain recruit for performing well in a specific subject.

The next day, that recruit received a Regimental Commendation.

Furthermore, he was listed as a priority candidate for officer promotion within the regiment!

Because a word of affirmation from a chief was not just an endorsement of the soldier's strength, but an endorsement of the entire regiment and division!

As a Divisional or Regimental Commander, one naturally had to show some appreciation!

Not far away, Zhou Haitao grabbed Squad Leader Liu Yong, his voice trembling. "Old Liu, when did this kid practice sniping? How come I didn't know anything about it?"

Liu Yong was also bewildered. "Company Commander, I spend every day with him, and I've never seen him touch a sniper rifle! When the company organized sniper selection last time, he didn't even sign up!"

Zhou Haitao's face turned ashen. "It's over, it's all over... The Divisional Commander is going to skin me alive..."

At that moment, Zhao Jianguo looked around and announced loudly, "Snipers of the 3rd Battalion, step forward! Let me see the sniping level of your regiment!"

The Regimental Commander quickly winked at the Battalion Commander.

Soon, three snipers ran out and stood next to Su Han.

Zhao Jianguo looked at the shooting range in the distance. "Considering you are snipers from a regular unit, let's aim for targets at 600 meters."

The three snipers visibly breathed a sigh of relief—600 meters was not easy, but it was within their capabilities.

The range was quickly prepared.

Four targets at 600 meters were set up, swaying slightly under the scorching sun.

"Commence firing!"

The three snipers immediately lay prone and began adjusting their scopes, calculating parameters like wind speed and humidity.

Su Han, however, remained standing at target position four. He simply supported the sniper rifle with one hand, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"What is he doing?" Divisional Commander Zhang Zhenguo frowned.

The next second—

Bang!

Su Han pulled the trigger, the gunshot deafening.

The entire crowd broke into an uproar!

"Here we go again!" Wang Hao covered his face. "Brother Han is just acting recklessly!"

Zhou Haitao's legs went weak, and he almost knelt on the ground. "Oh, my ancestors..."

Zhao Jianguo's eyes lit up, and he immediately raised his binoculars to look at the target.

The other three snipers were also startled by the sudden gunshot; one of them even flinched, causing his bullet to miss.

After the three snipers finished, the target markers also began reporting the scores.

"Target 1, 7 rings!"

"Target 2, 8 rings!"

"Target 3, 7 rings!"

"Target 4, 10 rings!" the target marker's excited voice crackled over the radio.

"What?!" The Regimental Commander snatched the binoculars. "He actually hit it?!"

Zhao Jianguo lowered his binoculars, a satisfied smile appearing on his face. "Not bad. Interesting."

The scene erupted once again!

"Holy crap! A 10-ring hit on the first shot at 600 meters?!"

"Is this a damn fluke?!"

"A fluke? Why don't you try fluking one for me!"

Zhou Haitao and Liu Yong looked at each other, both seeing disbelief in the other's eyes.

Zhao Jianguo walked up to Su Han and asked with interest, "Young man, is 600 meters too easy for you?"

Su Han straightened his back. "Reporting to the Chief, it's alright!"

"Good!" Zhao Jianguo laughed. "Then let's increase the difficulty! 800 meters, moving target!"

As soon as this order was given, the scene fell silent.

An 800-meter moving target was already the assessment standard for Special Forces!

It was simply impossible for snipers in a regular unit to complete!

The faces of the three snipers turned pale instantly; one of them even started shaking.

The Regimental Commander hurried forward. "Chief, this... they haven't had professional training..."

Zhao Jianguo waved his hand. "Then forget about them. Let Su Han do it alone."

Hearing this, the three snipers breathed a massive sigh of relief.

The range was quickly adjusted.

At 800 meters, a human-shaped target began moving left and right.

Su Han took a deep breath and raised his sniper rifle.

This time, he was a bit more serious and aimed for about two seconds.

Bang!

The gun fired, and the target fell!

"Hit! 10 rings!" The voice on the radio was slightly distorted with excitement.

The entire audience was silent, everyone's eyes wide as if they had seen something unbelievable.

The smile on Zhao Jianguo's face gradually faded, replaced by a serious expression. "900 meters."

Without a word, Su Han raised his gun again.

Bang!

"Hit! 10 rings!"

"1000 meters."

Bang!

"Hit! 10 rings!"

By the time Su Han finished the 1000-meter shot, the entire range was in a frenzy.

Disregarding discipline, the soldiers began to cheer.

This time, Su Han didn't wait for Zhao Jianguo to speak and shouted, "Report!"

"Chief, don't you just want to know my true sniping level?"

"Then let's get straight to the point!"

Saying so, Su Han pointed at a pole with a red flag 1200 meters away. "I request a simple target pit be set up there, with someone throwing glass bottles into the sky!"

"1200 meters? Glass bottles?"

Zhao Jianguo's eyebrows shot up, his wrinkles smoothing out in surprise.

The scene instantly became so quiet you could hear a pin drop, everyone's eyes focused on the young soldier.

Divisional Commander Zhang Zhenguo rushed forward and barked in a low voice, "Su Han! Are you crazy? Shooting glass bottles at 1200 meters—do you know what that entails?"

Su Han remained unfazed. "Reporting to the Divisional Commander, I know."

"You know, and yet you—"

"Let him try," Zhao Jianguo suddenly spoke, a strange light flickering in his eyes. "I want to see if our Military Region has truly produced a sniping genius."

The Regimental Commander quickly arranged for the preparations.

Zhou Haitao was numb by now. He walked mechanically to Su Han's side and said hoarsely, "Su Han... no, Third Grandpa... just how many skills are you hiding?"

At this point, Zhou Haitao didn't care about the hierarchy anymore.

With Su Han's performance today, he would be willing to call Su Han "Grandpa" in front of the entire regiment!

Even if Su Han missed the targets later, in Zhou Haitao's heart, he had already surpassed the status of a "Grandpa"!

This was a huge treasure!

And he was recognized by a Military Region Chief!

If he took him out, the company commanders of the entire regiment would drool with envy.

Su Han grinned. "Grandson-in-law, this is just the beginning."

"Don't worry, your Third Grandpa won't let you down."

Zhou Haitao slapped Su Han's shoulder hard. "Good! Shoot well! Tonight, I'll give your 3rd Squad an extra meal! Ten extra dishes!"

Su Han glanced at Zhou Haitao's hand on his shoulder. "Grandson, show some respect for your elders."

Zhou Haitao: "..."

Soon, a red flag was raised at the range 1200 meters away.

A soldier stood there holding ten beer bottles, waiting for the command.

Zhao Jianguo picked up the radio. "Are you ready?"

"Reporting to the Chief, we are ready!"

The old general turned to Su Han. "The longest distance in the national Special Forces sniping competition is 1200 meters. If you can hit three bottles, I will make an exception and recommend you for the All-Army Special Forces Competition in three months."

Su Han shook his head. "Chief, I want all ten."

"What?!" Zhao Jianguo's eyes widened.

The crowd erupted again!

"Holy crap! Ten out of ten at 1200 meters? Is he a damn god?"

"He's bragging without even thinking!"

"This time he's blown it..."

Even the three snipers couldn't help but shake their heads—hitting one bottle at 1200 meters would be a miracle; hitting all ten? He was dreaming!

Zhao Jianguo stared at Su Han for a few seconds and suddenly laughed. "Good! You've got spirit! Begin!"

Su Han took a deep breath and slowly lay down.

This time, his movements were exceptionally serious.

Adjusting his breathing, feeling the wind direction, calculating the trajectory...

Everyone held their breath.

"First one!" a shout came over the radio.

Bang!

In the distance, a small black dot was tossed into the air—

Crack!

The bottle shattered in mid-air, glass shards sparkling in the sunlight!

"Hit!"

"Second one!"

Bang! Crack!

"Hit!"

"Third one!"

Bang! Crack!

"Hit!"

...

By the time the ninth bottle was tossed, the scene was in a frenzy.

The soldiers cheered and jumped, ignoring discipline.

Zhou Haitao pinched his thigh hard, fearing he was dreaming.

The hands of the Divisional and Regimental Commanders trembled slightly; they could barely hold their binoculars steady.

"Tenth one!"

Bang!

The last bottle bloomed in the air like a brilliant crystal flower.

"Ten for ten! All hits!" The target marker's voice was hoarse with excitement.

Thunderous applause and cheers erupted from the scene.

Zhao Jianguo strode up to Su Han and patted his shoulder vigorously. "Good! Good! Good!"

The old general said "good" three times, his wrinkles smoothing out. "I've been in the army for forty years, and I've never seen a sharpshooter like you!"

Su Han stood at attention and saluted. "Thank you for the praise, Chief!"

Zhao Jianguo turned to the Divisional and Regimental Commanders. "I want this soldier!"

"A soldier this talented is wasted in your regiment!"

"He should go to the Special Forces!"

"He should be on the front lines killing enemies!"

The Divisional and Regimental Commanders looked at each other, unsure how to respond.

"Chief, this..."

"What? You don't want to let him go?" Zhao Jianguo glared.

The Regimental Commander quickly waved his hands. "No, no, it's just... Comrade Su Han is still a recruit after all; he hasn't finished much of his basic training..."

"Basic training?" Zhao Jianguo laughed. "With his level, he's more than qualified to be your instructor!"

Just then, Su Han spoke up, "Report, Chief, I have a request."

"Speak!"

"I want to stay in my original unit for now," Su Han said seriously. "This is my home, and I want to grow together with my comrades."

These words stunned everyone.

To be able to go with the Deputy Commander of the Military Region—how many people dreamed of such an opportunity!

But Su Han had his own ideas.

Luckily, the Chief's random inspection today was on shooting; if it had been a physical fitness subject, he really wouldn't have been able to pull it off.

He was a top special operations Soldier King in his previous life, but that was only in his memories.

The physical quality of this body's original owner was far too poor.

It was like an exam: you might have the knowledge, but if you don't have a hand to write, wouldn't you still get a zero?

So, his plan was to stay in a regular unit first and build a solid foundation.

Moreover, with his ancestral "cultivation technique," he needed to lay a comprehensive foundation.

That way, in the future, his physical potential would reach an unprecedented height!

Zhao Jianguo took a long look at Su Han and suddenly smiled. "Good! You've got backbone! However..."

The old general changed the subject. "You must participate in the Special Forces Competition in three months! At that time, I will give you a spot in our Military Region's Falcon Special Forces!"

Su Han asked curiously, "Chief, does this national Special Forces competition only involve sniping?"

"Of course not."

Zhao Jianguo said, "It covers over a dozen special skills subjects. Of course, that's fine; if you have to participate in other subjects, it doesn't matter if you come in last. But for the shooting subjects—whether rifle or sniper—you must take first place for me!"

"In the All-Army Grand Competition, as long as you take first in one subject, no one will dare look down on you even if you're last in everything else!"

"As long as you get a good ranking, I will personally come back and award you your military merit with my own hands!!!"

"Yes! I guarantee the mission will be accomplished!" Su Han straightened his back, his voice resounding.

Zhao Jianguo nodded with satisfaction and said to the Divisional Commander, "You must focus on training this soldier. If necessary, I can have the Falcon Special Operations Brigade send an instructor to give him individual special training."

"Report, Chief."

Hearing this, Su Han quickly said, "I have a small request."

Zhao Jianguo smiled. "Go ahead."

Su Han said, "I don't want any guidance from the Special Operations Brigade; I can train myself."

"In addition, I don't want the Special Operations Brigade to know about my performance today."

"Oh? Why?" Zhao Jianguo was slightly stunned, not understanding. "Do you think the Special Operations Brigade isn't qualified to teach you?"

Su Han said proudly, "Yes! I believe my individual training won't be any worse than that of the Special Operations Brigade instructors!"

"This shooting is the best proof!"

"I hope the Chief will grant my request!"

Zhao Jianguo: "..."

Divisional Commander, Regimental Commander: "..."

Zhou Haitao: "..."

All soldiers of the 3rd Battalion: "..."

They had seen arrogant people, but never someone this arrogant!

He actually looked down on the Special Forces of a major Military Region.

Seeing Zhao Jianguo hesitating, Su Han continued, "Chief, let's set a limit of three months."

"In the All-Army Special Forces Competition, if I fail to take first place in any of the shooting subjects I participate in, I will follow all your arrangements."

"It's only three months anyway; please give me this chance, Chief."

Hearing this, Zhao Jianguo didn't push further but asked in confusion, "Then what is the reason for not letting the Falcon Special Operations Brigade know about today?"

Su Han smiled. "Chief, if you were the commander of the Special Operations Brigade and saw a promising talent like me, wouldn't you try everything to poach me?"

"I just want to train peacefully in the regiment first and don't want to be disturbed."

Hearing this, Zhao Jianguo couldn't help but laugh and scold him, "You kid certainly think ahead."

"Fine! I promise you!"

Saying so, Zhao Jianguo said to the Divisional and Regimental Commanders, "You two, make sure the confidentiality work is done. Today's events must stay buried in your hearts."

"Furthermore, during these three months, you must fully cooperate with Comrade Su Han on how he trains and what logistical assistance he needs!"

"If you let our Military Region's shooting genius go to waste, I'll skin you alive!"

The Divisional and Regimental Commanders quickly stood at attention and said solemnly, "Yes! Chief!"
