28: Chapter 28: Su Han is surrounded and attacked!!
“Rustle—”
The sound of combat boots crushing dry leaves came from the southeast; Su Han's ears twitched slightly.
He remained motionless in a sniping position, his pupils locked onto the shadows of the bushes like a hawk beneath eye sockets outlined by camouflage paint.
As the corners of his mouth curled up, a dangerous aura almost materialized: "Three o'clock direction, distance one hundred and fifty meters, pace interval 0.7 seconds... Wild Wolf's 'Butcher'."
Almost simultaneously, a splash lighter than a fish's tail flicking came from the direction of the stream to the Northwest.
Su Han's Adam's apple rolled imperceptibly—that was the friction of a wetsuit cutting through the water's surface, carrying a rhythm unique to the Navy.
“Water Ghost tactics... at least two.”
The technician suddenly enlarged the 3D map of Area 11 into a holographic projection: “Report! Five contestants are forming an encirclement around Su Han!”
On the big screen, five red dots stalked like leopards, compressing toward Su Han's blue dot from the east, south, west, and north.
The Captain of Wild Wolf slammed the table, making the steel surface hum: “Good! Five against one, I want to see what tricks this greenhorn can pull off!”
Wang Yuanchao's knuckles turned white against the armrest: “Five teams joining forces to besiege a single private? Do you treat the special operations regulations as toilet paper? On a real battlefield, is it even possible for five opposing enemy forces to unite?”
“There is, didn't the Six Kingdoms besiege the Qin State in ancient times?” one Captain chuckled.
Wang Yuanchao: “Go to hell!”
The Captain of Desert Wolf smiled sinisterly, cigar ash falling onto his camouflage uniform: “On the battlefield, there is only life and death, no fairness. It's your Falcon's treasure's own fault for being too eye-catching; he deserves to be used as a live target.”
The side screen suddenly lit up, and information on the five besiegers sliced through the air like blades:
[Northeast 200m] Divine Sword · Iron Hand (Combat Expert/Tactical Commander, once broke an opponent's femur with a cross-armbar in an MMA league)
[Southeast 150m] Wild Wolf · Butcher (Dual specialist in close combat and demolition, excels at creating booby traps with C4 plastic explosives)
[Northwest 180m] Dragon Shark · Sea Snake (Underwater combat expert, capable of completing a 30-meter underwater snipe while holding his breath)
[Southwest 220m] Desert Wolf · Sand Scorpion (Sniper, set a record for hitting a coin at a distance of 800 meters)
[Direct North 100m] Snow Leopard · Night Owl (Scout, able to track targets through thermal imaging in pitch-black environments)
Long Zhan of the Marine Corps stared at the sand table and sucked in a breath of cold air: “Combat commander, demolitions expert, water ghost, sniper, scout... this is a damn configuration for a raid on an enemy headquarters being used to hunt Su Han!”
...
Under everyone's gaze, Su Han suddenly put away his Type 88 sniper rifle.
In the image Iron Hand saw through his binoculars, the besieged private actually slowly stood up straight, his muscle lines under the camouflage uniform like a taut bowstring against the backlight.
“Is he crazy?” The Captain of Snow Leopard's coffee cup smashed onto the floor. “Isn't this just handing his head to Sand Scorpion?”
What made everyone's blood freeze even more was that Su Han began to organize his gear.
As he slung the sniper rifle behind his back, his movements were as composed as if he were tidying his quarters in the barracks;
The type 95 rifle was slung at his waist, and he repeatedly adjusted the webbing of his tactical vest, the metal buckles making a light "click" sound.
“Butcher” heard the low growl of a comrade from the same unit through his tactical headset: “He's provoking us! This bastard is using the way he organizes his gear to provoke all five of us at the same time!”
“Bang!”
A gunshot suddenly erupted from the dense forest to the Northwest. Sand Scorpion's probing bullet grazed Su Han's ankle and struck a rock, sparks splashing onto his combat boots.
But Su Han in the binoculars didn't even blink. Even as the bullet whistled past, he was looking down to check his pistol magazine.
“Clack.”
The metallic impact of pulling the pistol slide was clearly transmitted back to the observation room through the drone's microphone.
Su Han suddenly turned around, the Type 92 pistol tracing a silver arc in his palm, the muzzle steadily aimed at the seemingly impenetrable canopy to the Northwest.
Iron Hand's binoculars jerked—he saw that there was not the slightest hesitation in Su Han's pupils, as if he could see through the leaves to the Sea Snake hidden in the ten-meter pine tree.
“Impossible... how could the naked eye...” Before he could finish his sentence, the pistol had already fired.
Hidden in the canopy, Sea Snake was locking onto Su Han's chest through his scope, a snorkel clenched between his teeth, cold stream water dripping onto his shoulder from his wetsuit.
Just as he was about to pull the trigger of his underwater rifle, he suddenly saw Su Han turn around, those eyes seemingly looking directly into his pupils.
“An illusion...” He wanted to adjust his angle, but heard a muffled “Bang.”
A cold sensation made him think it was stream water splashing in—until the current from the elimination sensor stung his neck and smoke rose from his body. Only then did he roar out: “Fuck! How did he find...?”
“Butcher” gripped the demolition knife at his waist, the soles of his boots crushing shallow pits into the dry leaves.
He was calculating the gap in Su Han's reload and was about to charge from the flank, when he saw that figure suddenly pounce toward the southeast like a released spring!
The speed was so fast that the motion capture system of his tactical goggles lagged.
He simultaneously blocked with his blade—but Su Han's movements exceeded the scope of all combat manuals: his knee struck Butcher's ribs the moment he landed, his left hand clamped onto the knife-wielding wrist like an iron vise, and his right fist smashed into the funny bone of the elbow.
“Crack”—the crisp sound of bone dislocation mixed with the muffled thud of flesh colliding erupted in the forest.
“Butcher” felt the knife slip from his hand, and his whole body was slammed onto the ground like a broken sack. When the red light of the elimination sensor lit up on his chest, he only saw Su Han's retreating back; there wasn't even mud on his trouser legs.
[Wild Wolf · Butcher Eliminated]
Long Zhan stared at the timer, his Adam's apple rolling: “From the charge to the kill... three seconds.”
...
The next chapter will be a bit later.
