153: Chapter 153: Put the licker in a cage and label it "Husky".

"A retired Husky?"

Chen Nuo was stunned.

In an instant, a fanatical light comparable to that of a gossip reporter flickered in those clear, large eyes; her entire face was written with the words: "You're trying to fool me."

What kind of goddamn Husky could make such an earth-shattering, ghost-weeping noise!

That hoarse, broken low growl felt as if it had been squeezed out from the cracks of hell, carrying a bloody scent that made one's hair stand on end.

"Brother, do you think I'm stupid?"

Chen Nuo wasn't scared off.

Instead, she shook off Chen Yuan's hand as he tried to stop her, holding up her long selfie stick and rushing toward the backyard.

"Family! My brother is definitely hiding something shady and good!"

"We're going to catch him red-handed today and see just how many heads this legendary 'retired Husky' actually has!"

The bullet chat was instantly ignited, the screen filled with cheering shouts of "Go, go, go!"

Chen Yuan's hand froze in mid-air.

Watching that white silhouette dash out like a Wild Dog off its leash, he felt his temples throbbing violently, his blood vessels nearly ready to burst.

"Nuo Nuo! Come back! There's construction over there, it's dangerous!"

Chen Yuan roared, completely disregarding his image as a CEO as he quickly strode forward to give chase.

Meanwhile, in a corner of the backyard.

It was a scene of total chaos and turmoil.

Victor was experiencing the longest and darkest ten minutes of his life.

His expensive, custom-made Armani suit was completely soaked in cold sweat, clinging tightly to his stout body and squeezing him so hard he could barely breathe.

"Get in! You damned beast! Get the hell in there!"

Victor roared, dripping with sweat.

He was death-gripping a large broom he'd snatched from some janitor.

With all his might, he used the wooden handle of the broom to brace against the gap of a reinforced, explosion-proof steel cage.

"Roar—Hiss!!!"

A hair-raising, shrill screech echoed from within the iron cage.

That was absolutely not a normal carbon-based organism from Earth.

It was a nightmare kneaded together from pure killing intent and mutated genes.

It had no skin.

Dark red, thick muscle fibers were exposed directly to the scorching sunlight.

Every bundle of muscle writhed and contracted violently, emitting a nauseating, bloody stench that smelled like fermented internal organs.

That massive head didn't even have eyes.

There was only a half-exposed, pale brain that pulsed with its rapid breathing, and a terrifying maw that split open all the way to its ears.

This was precisely the mutated Licker that had to be temporarily detained because it was too large to fit into the ventilation ducts.

"Screeech—"

A sharp claw with pitch-black bone spurs suddenly thrust out from a gap in the iron bars, frantically scratching at the air.

Sparks flew as it clawed the steel bars, leaving behind several deep, pale gouges.

Victor was scared out of his wits.

He desperately poked the broom handle at the claw trying to tear him apart, his fat body trembling as he leaned against the cage.

"Hurry up! Tape! Stick that damn label on for me!"

Victor roared frantically at the two nearby security guards, who were also shaking with weak knees; his voice had completely distorted due to extreme terror.

The two burly men, wearing ill-fitting suits, tremblingly held up a large piece of hard cardboard.

On the cardboard.

Four highly ironic large characters were written crookedly with a thick black marker—

【Purebred Husky】.

To add a sense of realism, they had even used a red pen to draw an incredibly ridiculous, tongue-lolling smiley face of a dog's head next to it.

"Stick it on straight! Don't let that beast scratch the sign to pieces!"

Victor felt like his heart was about to leap out of his throat.

Those lunatics in the lab!

They only thought about increasing lethality when they created these monsters; didn't they ever consider the storage issues in an emergency like this?!

At this life-and-death moment of concealment.

A flurry of rapid footsteps accompanied by a young girl's crisp voice came over like a bolt from the blue.

"Wow! There really is a cage!"

Chen Nuo held up her selfie stick like an explorer who had discovered a new continent.

She excitedly rounded a cluster of expensive ornamental shrubs and barged directly into this utterly absurd "crime scene" without any defenses.

The air.

Completely froze at that moment.

The wind stopped, and the rustling of the leaves vanished.

Victor remained in a ridiculous posture, gripping the broom with both hands and pressing his buttocks firmly against the iron cage.

The expression on his face was ten thousand times more spectacular than if he had swallowed ten dead flies at once; cold sweat dripped from his chin.

The two burly men sticking the label also froze like stone statues, still holding the wide tape they hadn't finished tearing.

And the mutated Licker inside the cage.

It seemed to have sensed the presence of a strange and fresh living person, and it actually stopped its frantic struggling abruptly.

"Splat."

A wet, soft sound.

A crimson long tongue, as thick as an adult's arm and covered in sharp barbs and disgusting slime.

Slid out from a gap in the iron bars without any warning.

It dangled limply in mid-air, dripping green acid that was highly corrosive, making the lawn on the ground sizzle.

Chen Nuo held up her phone.

The high-definition camera was aimed perfectly, right at the flesh-and-blood monster hanging the 【Purebred Husky】 sign.

She even gave an extreme close-up of that long tongue dripping with acid.

In the livestream room.

The phone screens of millions of netizens were instantly filled with this visually impactful and terrifying scene.

Silence.

A suffocating silence that lasted for ten seconds.

Then.

The entire livestream platform welcomed the most violent and terrifying explosion of bullet chat in its history.

The server's data indicator lights instantly turned red, nearly on the verge of collapse.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!!! My eyes!"

"Is this a fucking Husky?! Since when do Huskies have exposed brains!"

"What kind of goddamn purebred Husky is that! Is that hand-drawn dog smiley face meant to insult my intelligence!"

"I was eating spicy hot pot just now, but when I saw that tongue, I puked the soup and noodles all over my screen!"

"Call the police! Make an international police report! They are definitely researching biochemical weapons!"

"This isn't a creature from Earth! It's an Alien! It's a zombie!"

"Streamer, run! That monster has no skin! It doesn't even have eyes, it'll eat people!"

"It's over, it's over, the Streamer's brother really is a great demon king! The basement of this Pharmaceutical Factory is definitely hell!"

The bullet chat scrolled frantically at a rate of tens of thousands per second, vividly displaying the public's panic and shock.

Chen Nuo stood in place, as if she had grown roots.

The excitement and curiosity on her face had long since vanished without a trace.

In its place was an extreme paleness and a terror that reached deep into her bones.

She stared blankly at that nauseating dark red lump of flesh in the cage, at that crimson tongue still twitching slightly in mid-air.

Her brain had gone into a complete state of shutdown.

Chen Yuan finally caught up at this moment.

He grabbed Chen Nuo's arm and pulled her sharply behind him.

"Nuo Nuo, this dog has a bad temper. Don't get too close, be careful not to get bitten."

Chen Yuan forced an explanation without changing his expression, meanwhile shooting Victor a cold, murderous glare.

That look was clearly roaring: Couldn't you have found a larger tarp to cover it up tightly?!

Victor was so aggrieved he was about to cry, and could only desperately use the broom to block that tongue.

Chen Nuo turned her head stiffly.

She looked at her brother, who was dressed in a suit and had an extraordinary temperament, like a business elite.

Then she looked at the terrifying flesh-and-blood monster with the ridiculous 【Purebred Husky】 sign.

Her small face was so pale there wasn't a hint of color.

Her voice trembled like a broken, old violin being played in the cold wind.

"Brother..."

Chen Nuo swallowed with extreme difficulty, her finger trembling as she pointed at the tongue that was thicker than her own arm.

"This dog..."

"Does it have some kind of serious skin disease?"
