42: Chapter 42: Since there's oil, building some Gundams makes perfect sense, right?
"Fertilizer?"
Colonel Mike on the other end of the communicator was clearly stunned for a moment, then burst into ear-piercing, wild laughter.
"Good! You've got guts!"
"I hope that in three minutes, when my tank crushes your skull, your mouth can still be this tough!"
The communication cut off.
Only the dial tone echoed in the air.
Chen Yuan casually tossed the walkie-talkie to Victor behind him, the cynical expression on his face instantly vanishing, replaced by a sense of absolute calm and madness.
"Zola!"
He barked into the microphone on his collar, "Stop messing around with those bottles and jars in the lab; is the thing I wanted ready?"
A burst of static came through the earpiece, followed by a shrill, neurotic, yet fanatically excited voice:
"Boss! You are practically forcing art! Three days! You only gave me three days!"
"However... hehehe, a genius can always create miracles under extreme pressure."
Dr. Zola's voice sounded like he had just taken drugs, "Come down, Boss, to the underground assembly workshop No. 2; let me show you my... 'little baby'."
Chen Yuan didn't waste words and turned toward the elevator.
Underground level two.
This place was originally a garage for parking heavy trucks, but it had now been transformed into a massive Shura field, with flying sparks, the pungent smell of solder, and... the thick scent of blood everywhere.
Dozens of T-103 Mass-Produced Tyrants were busy at work.
They held industrial welding torches in their hands, performing the final assembly on a behemoth.
When Chen Yuan stepped out of the elevator, even though he was mentally prepared, his breathing involuntarily paused for a second.
It was a monster.
A nightmare stitched together from steel, flesh, pipes, and heavy weaponry.
It was fully five meters tall, standing quietly on a support frame.
Its torso was the chassis of a scrapped armored vehicle, but it had been stood upright and modified into a breastplate.
Its limbs were outrageously thick hydraulic mechanical arms, but if you looked closely, you would find those gaps in the mechanical arms were stuffed with writhing, grayish-white muscle fibers.
That was the muscle tissue of the T-103 Mass-Produced Tyrant.
It had no head, or rather, its "head" was hidden within the heavy armor, revealing only a row of flickering red electronic eyes.
The left arm was a dismantled six-barrel aviation machine gun, and the right arm was a three-meter-long chainsaw sword still dripping with lubricating oil.
Violence.
Barbarism.
There was no aerodynamic beauty, only the hideousness piled up purely for slaughter.
"How is it, Boss?"
Dr. Zola, wearing a lab coat stained with machine oil and blood, with messy white hair, jumped down from the scaffolding like a monkey.
He stroked the monster's leg armor, his eyes dazed as if looking at his lover:
"This is the limit of what I can do for now. Utilizing the energy provided by the type-z ore, driving the biological activity of the T-103 Mass-Produced Tyrant, and combining it with the hydraulic system of an exoskeleton..."
"I call it—【bio-mecha · Avenger Type 1】."
"Although it's a bit ugly."
Chen Yuan stepped forward and reached out to knock on the armor plate, which was still radiating heat, producing a dull echo.
"But as long as it can kill, it's a good thing."
"Not just kill, Boss."
Dr. Zola rubbed his hands excitedly, "Its output is ten times that of a T-103 Mass-Produced Tyrant! That chainsaw sword is made of high-strength titanium alloy; never mind a person, it can even slice through the frontal armor of an m1a2 main battle tank!"
"The only drawback is..."
Zola pointed to the huge cooling grille on the back of the mecha, "This thing is a 'premature baby'. Its biological core is extremely unstable; it can only maintain full power for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes, its heart will overheat and explode."
"Fifteen minutes?"
Chen Yuan glanced at the patek philippe on his wrist.
That arrogant Colonel Mike had given him a three-minute evacuation window, and now there was one minute left.
"Enough."
Chen Yuan turned around, looking at the sleeping steel behemoth, his ambition burning in his eyes.
"Fifteen minutes is enough to send those Yankees back home."
He snapped his fingers.
"Start it."
"Yes!"
Dr. Zola slammed down the knife switch on the wall.
"Hum—!!!"
A tooth-aching low-frequency vibration instantly swept through the entire basement.
The cooling grille behind the mecha suddenly spewed out a stream of scorching white steam.
The originally dim biological core, the moment it was injected with the energy of the type-z ore, erupted with blinding blue light.
Those exposed muscle fibers began to writhe violently, expanding as if alive, stretching the loose armor until it was taut.
"Roar—"
A low mechanical roar, mixed with the growl of a beast, came from inside the mecha.
It moved.
That huge mechanical foot stepped heavily on the ground, and the concrete floor instantly cracked.
"How does it feel?"
Chen Yuan looked up at this monster he had created with his own hands.
Although it was still rough, one could even say it was crude.
No cockpit, no neural link, it could only rely on the built-in Tyrant brain for simple friend-or-foe identification.
But this was just the beginning.
With the oil under his feet and those glowing blue ores, one day in the future, he would eventually create a real bio-mecha capable of flying into space.
"Since there is oil at home, and that blue ore..."
Chen Yuan lit a cigarette, took a deep breath, and the exhaled smoke curled in the blue light:
"Then it's reasonable for me to build a Gundam in the backyard to guard the mine, right?"
"Rumble—"
A dull thunder came from overhead.
No, that wasn't thunder.
That was the sound of tracks crushing the ground, the friction of a 120mm smoothbore cannon rotating its turret.
Colonel Mike's "Warhammer Squad" had arrived.
"Boss, the guests have entered the door."
Red Queen's voice rang out at the right time, carrying a hint of indifferent warning, "The m1a2 main battle tank is two hundred meters away from the defense perimeter. They are not slowing down; it seems they intend to roll directly over our walls."
"How rude."
Chen Yuan threw away the cigarette butt and crushed it fiercely with his toe.
He looked up at the bio-mecha that had fully awakened and was exuding terrifying killing intent, a cruel smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
"Open the door."
"Let it out."
"Let our American friends see what is called... a man's romance."
With a hiss of the hydraulic system, the elevator platform leading to the surface slowly started.
The huge black figure rose into the night, like a moving iron tower, blocking the path of the charging main battle tank.
And opposite it.
Colonel Mike was sitting on the tank turret, chewing gum, his face full of disdain.
"Three minutes are up."
He ordered into the walkie-talkie, "Fire! Blow that broken factory into slag for me!"
However, the next second.
His order stuck in his throat.
Because he saw that monster rising from the ground, equipped with a six-barrel machine gun and a chainsaw sword.
Those red electronic eyes were staring fixedly at him.
It was as if Death itself was gazing at an ant.
