55: Chapter 55 Madam Congresswoman, only my "needle" can cure your illness.

"Oh my god! It's Ms. Strange!"

"Quick, call an ambulance! She's having a heart attack!"

"Doctor! Is there a doctor here?!"

The charity banquet scene instantly descended into chaos.

The impeccably dressed guests panicked and formed a circle, watching Ivanka, who had collapsed on the carpet with a purple face and weak breathing, yet no one dared to step forward to help.

Her bodyguards had already rushed over, roughly pushing through the crowd, frantically calling for support into their headsets while attempting CPR, but it was clearly to no avail.

Ivanka's body was twitching slightly, and her pupils were beginning to dilate.

Death was closing in step by step.

Right in the midst of this chaos and despair, a voice, calm to the point of being jarring, rang out.

"Move aside."

Chen Yuan, holding a wine glass, strolled leisurely through the crowd and arrived at Ivanka's side.

He didn't even look down at the woman whose life was hanging by a thread; instead, he used the toe of his shoe to kick a shattered champagne glass nearby a bit further away, so as not to scratch his expensive leather shoes.

"Who are you? Stand back!"

A Black bodyguard nearly two meters tall immediately blocked Chen Yuan's path, his eyes as fierce as a pit bull ready to bite.

"The person who will save her."

Chen Yuan calmly spat out those four words.

"Get lost! This is none of your business!" The bodyguard didn't believe him at all and reached out to push Chen Yuan.

However, before his hand could even touch the corner of Chen Yuan's clothes, it was grabbed by another fair, slender hand.

It was Alice.

She had appeared at Chen Yuan's side without anyone noticing, a professional smile on her face, but the strength in her hand was astonishing.

"Crack."

A slight sound of bone fracturing.

The bull-like bodyguard let out a muffled groan, his face instantly turning the color of pig liver. His wrist had been crushed into a twist by this seemingly frail woman.

"My boss doesn't like it when others touch him."

Alice released her hand and said with a smile, as if she had just brushed off a bit of dust.

This action completely subdued the scene.

The remaining bodyguards looked at their companion's deformed wrist and didn't dare to take another step forward.

Chen Yuan ignored these interludes.

He crouched down, looked at Ivanka, who was about to lose consciousness, and extended two fingers to gently probe her carotid artery.

"Tachycardia, myocardial ischemia. In another thirty seconds, her brain will suffer irreversible damage due to hypoxia."

He made the diagnosis calmly, like an experienced old doctor.

"You have a way?"

Another slightly calmer bodyguard asked urgently.

"Of course."

Chen Yuan stood up and took an exquisite metal box from his suit's inner pocket.

The box opened.

Inside lay a syringe that had been prepared in advance, filled with a pale blue liquid.

"This is a 'cardiac stimulant' newly developed by our company, specifically for dealing with this kind of sudden heart failure."

"What are you doing?!"

The bodyguard became instantly tense upon seeing that long needle. "You don't have a medical license! If something goes wrong, we..."

"Then let her die."

Chen Yuan shrugged and made a move to put the syringe away. "Or, you can wait twenty minutes for the ambulance to arrive, and then take her straight to the morgue."

"I..." The bodyguard was speechless.

He looked at Ivanka, whose breathing was getting weaker, then looked at Chen Yuan's confident demeanor, and finally gritted his teeth and made a decision.

"Save her! If anything goes wrong, I'll take responsibility!"

"Very good, a wise choice."

Chen Yuan smiled.

He removed the needle cap, and under the horrified gaze of the crowd, he did not choose to inject her arm or thigh.

Instead, he lifted Ivanka's expensive evening gown and aimed the cold, sharp needle at the position below her left chest, where her heart was beating.

"He's crazy! He's crazy! He's going to inject her heart directly!"

"This is murder! Stop him!"

A gasp went through the crowd.

Even Victor and Sophia were dumbfounded, and they quietly tugged at Chen Yuan's sleeve: "Boss, are you serious? This is a future senator. If you accidentally kill her..."

"Shut up."

Chen Yuan didn't even turn his head.

He looked at Ivanka's face, which had turned purple from hypoxia, and there was not a hint of hesitation in his eyes.

"Pfft."

The needle pierced in.

The pale blue liquid was slowly pushed into the heart that was about to stop beating.

【Nano Medical Worm (repair type), injected.】

【Clearing cardiovascular blockage... Repairing damaged myocardium... Optimizing cardiac pumping function...】

Time seemed to stand still at this moment.

Everyone held their breath, staring intently at the woman lying motionless on the ground.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Ivanka's complexion not only didn't improve, but became even paler, and even her last bit of breathing disappeared.

"It's over... She's dead!"

"He's killed her! He killed Ms. Strange!"

The bodyguard's eyes turned red instantly, and he pulled out his gun, aiming it at Chen Yuan.

Just then.

"Cough, cough... cough!"

A burst of violent coughing suddenly rang out.

Ivanka suddenly opened her eyes, gasping for fresh air like a dying fish.

In just a few seconds, the purple color on her face quickly faded, replaced by a healthy flush.

That suffocating feeling of being on the verge of death vanished. In its place was an unprecedented, vibrant sense of relief. She could even clearly feel her heart beating with unprecedented strength, powerfully and rhythmically.

"I... what is this..."

Ivanka propped herself up and sat up, looking around blankly.

The whole room was dead silent.

Everyone looked as if they had seen a ghost, staring at this woman who, only seconds ago, was struggling on the line of death, but now looked as rosy as if she had just finished a spa treatment.

A miracle.

This fucking miracle!

"How do you feel? Madam Senator?"

Chen Yuan put away the empty syringe, looked down at her from above, with that devilish smile on his face.

Ivanka raised her head and looked at the man in front of her.

Handsome, elegant, mysterious, yet carrying a heart-palpitating sense of danger.

"Was it you... who saved me?" Her voice was still a bit hoarse.

"Just a small favor."

Chen Yuan reached out his hand and pulled her up from the ground, his movements impeccably gentlemanly.

He leaned into Ivanka's ear and whispered in a voice that only the two of them could hear:

"However, I can only save you this one time."

"That riddled heart of yours is like a dilapidated building that could collapse at any moment. Even the best hospitals in the world can only patch it up."

Ivanka's body stiffened suddenly, and a trace of imperceptible panic flashed in her eyes.

Her illness was the family's top secret. Except for her private doctor, it was absolutely impossible for any outsider to know.

Who on earth was this man?

"But you are lucky."

Chen Yuan's voice carried a hint of seduction. "Because I am not a doctor."

"The 'needle' in my hand is not medicine either."

He let go of her hand, stepped back, and re-established the distance between them, the smile on his face becoming inscrutable:

"Madam Senator, remember my words."

"Your illness cannot be cured by hospitals."

"Only my 'needle' can cure it."

Having said that, Chen Yuan didn't look at her again, turned around, and took Alice with him, disappearing into the crowd amidst looks of awe and terror.

Leaving only Ivanka standing there, dazed, clutching the metal business card with the Umbrella logo that Chen Yuan had quietly slipped into her palm.

The business card was cold, yet it felt like her only lifeline at this moment.

The next morning.

A black cadillac stopped silently at the entrance of the Pharmaceutical Factory.

No bodyguards, no entourage.

Ivanka got out of the car alone. She was wearing a capable professional outfit and a pair of large sunglasses, covering her complex eyes.

Victor was already waiting at the entrance.

"Ms. Strange, the boss is waiting for you in his office."

Ivanka nodded and followed Victor into the somewhat dilapidated office building.

Pushing open the door.

Chen Yuan was sitting behind the desk, holding a cup of morning coffee.

"Good morning, Madam Senator."

He looked up and asked with a smile, "Did you sleep well?"

Ivanka did not answer.

She walked straight to the desk, took off her sunglasses, stared fixedly at Chen Yuan with her sharp eyes, and got straight to the point:

"What do you want?"
