9: Chapter 9 The gangsters are back? Close the door, release the tyrant!

The night was stained a bizarre dark red by blood.

This was no longer a battle, but a one-sided, foregone conclusion of a crushing defeat. It was like a group of fully armed kindergarteners trying to provoke a charging heavy tank with squirt guns.

"Bang!"

A dull, heavy thud.

Tyrant No. 1 grabbed the door of the pickup truck's cab with one hand; the sturdy steel plate felt like a thin piece of paper in its grip. With a tooth-aching sound of tearing metal, the entire door was ripped off.

Without a moment's pause, it swung this "shield" like it was swatting flies.

Before two thugs trying to spray with their AKs could pull the triggers, they were swatted into two pools of flesh by the whistling car door. Not even a scream escaped them; their entire bodies were like squashed tomatoes, red and white splattered all over the ground.

"Mon... Monster!"

Wild Dog stumbled into a Jeep that was still running, his hands trembling as he turned the key.

He had killed many people in his life and seen many ruthless characters.

But he had never seen anything that treated killing like disassembling toys. That was not a power a human could possess; it was pure violence, an aesthetic born for destruction.

"Vroom—"

The Jeep finally started.

Wild Dog slammed on the gas, the tires screeching against the ground and producing a cloud of acrid white smoke as he sped frantically toward the gate.

"Trying to run?"

Standing before the shattered window on the second floor, Chen Yuan shook his head slightly, a cruel arc curling at the corner of his mouth. "Since you've come, if you don't leave some souvenirs behind, I would be quite poor at hospitality."

He snapped his fingers.

"No. 2, intercept him."

In the darkness, another massive figure emerged without warning from the shadows by the main gate.

Tyrant No. 2.

It hadn't moved until now, like a silent stone guardian statue. Only at this moment did the statue come to life.

It didn't chase the speeding Jeep. Instead, it bent down and wrapped its arms around a concrete pillar used to support the large iron gate.

"Roar—!"

With a low growl, the muscles on Tyrant No. 2's body suddenly bulged, veins writhing like swimming dragons. The concrete pillar, as thick as an adult's thigh and buried deep in the ground, was actually ripped out by its roots!

"Whoosh—"

The massive concrete pillar traced a terrifying parabola through the air, whistling with the wind as it accurately smashed into the speeding Jeep.

"Boom!"

A deafening explosion shook the earth.

The Jeep's hood was instantly crushed, the entire front end turning into scrap metal. Momentum sent the car tumbling forward, sliding a dozen meters across the ground before finally coming to a stop by the roadside, wheels up and billowing thick black smoke.

Wild Dog crawled out of the deformed window, his head covered in blood. Before he could even stand steady, a massive foot stepped heavily onto his chest.

"Cough— Blegh!"

A mouthful of blood sprayed out, mixed with fragments of internal organs.

Wild Dog looked up in despair, meeting the pale, lifeless eyes of Tyrant No. 2.

"Spare... spare me..."

The other thugs completely broke down.

They threw down their weapons, dropped to their knees, and buried their heads deep in the dust, their bodies shaking like sieves.

"Stop killing! Please, stop killing!"

"We surrender! We're just doing this for the money!"

"Oh God! Spare us!"

Cries and pleas for mercy filled the air.

The scene had turned into a carnage. Over a dozen pickups had become scrap metal, seven or eight mangled corpses lay on the ground, and the air was thick with the nauseating smell of blood and burnt rubber.

Chen Yuan slowly walked down the stairs.

Alice followed behind him, holding the slightly cracked wine glass, as elegant as if she were touring her own backyard garden.

He walked up to Wild Dog and waved his hand.

Tyrant No. 2 moved its foot and stepped aside, but the suffocating pressure still hung over the area.

"Wild Dog, right?"

Chen Yuan crouched down and looked at the gang leader, who was now barely clinging to life. His tone was as casual as if asking for directions. "I heard you wanted to cut off my head and kick it around like a ball?"

"No... I wouldn't dare..."

Wild Dog just wanted to cry. He felt like at least eight of his ribs were broken, and every breath felt like a knife twisting in his lungs. "Master... Master Chen... I was blind... Please, show great mercy..."

"Shh."

Chen Yuan put a finger to his lips. "Don't talk. Save your strength. After all, you still have to work for me."

He stood up and scanned the survivors kneeling on the ground.

There were about thirty people left.

Every one of them was injured, but that was exactly what he needed.

"Alice, count them up."

Chen Yuan adjusted his collar, his voice sounding exceptionally clear in the quiet night. "Give everyone a set of work clothes. Starting tomorrow, all of you will go to the basement to move bricks. You'll get food only when you've cleared the wreckage of these cars and repaired this building."

"As for those who don't listen..."

Chen Yuan pointed to several stray dogs nearby that were gnawing on a corpse—no, those were the Zombie Dogs the system had just deployed. "Then they can be their midnight snack."

Just then.

The urgent sound of sirens drifted from the distance.

Over a dozen police cars roared toward them, red and blue lights piercing the night.

Sheriff Carlos jumped out of a car with a large group of fully armed officers, holding riot shields and looking as if they were facing a formidable enemy.

"Don't move! Everyone... uh?"

Carlos's shout got stuck in his throat.

His eyes widened as he took in the scene. His fat face instantly turned pale, and the gun in his hand almost fell to the ground.

This was too gruesome.

It looked like a battlefield that had been plowed over by heavy bombers. Twisted metal wreckage was everywhere, blood flowed in small streams across the ground, and the burly men kneeling and trembling looked more submissive than any criminal he had ever seen.

And standing in the center of it all was that young Eastern man in a suit, holding a glass of red wine.

Along with the two demon-god-like monsters behind him.

"Gulp."

Carlos swallowed hard. He had seen Chen Yuan kill before, but he had thought it was just luck or a sneak attack.

But now... this was a complete massacre.

"Good evening, Sheriff."

Chen Yuan walked forward with a smile, his expression so sincere it made one want to punch him. "You've come at the perfect time; I was just about to call the police."

He walked up to Carlos, reached out to pat the sheriff's stiff shoulder, and pointed at the thugs kneeling on the ground:

"These guys broke into my factory in the middle of the night with intent to rob, commit arson, and they even smashed my favorite floor-to-ceiling window."

"As a law-abiding taxpayer, in order to protect my property and the safety of my employees, I... engaged in a little bit of self-defense."

Chen Yuan leaned close to Carlos's ear, his voice low but carrying an unquestionable chill:

"Officer, this is legitimate self-defense, right?"
