127: Magic Sword

Although a mere few seconds wasn't enough to do much, it was more than enough to activate the magic protective gear.

So Melita thought of transforming into Isaac, who was extremely oppressive to Jeh!

This way, after completely diverting his attention, he wouldn't notice the condition of his own body!

And the truth was just as Melita had predicted; if she hadn't spoken up to remind him, Jeh might not have realized he had been poisoned until now.

Since Jeh could no longer activate the Legendary magic protective gear on his hand, Melita, having inherited Arthur's cautious approach, wasted no words.

She directly summoned a current of water, stripping all the magic protective gear and the space ring from Jeh!

"Protect the King!"

Seeing Melita make her move, apart from Jeh who was utterly defenseless,

the two subordinates behind him and the more than thirty guards outside the room also launched their counterattacks.

However, the strongest among these people was only an Earth Knight, which posed no threat to Melita, who possessed Legendary strength.

Melita didn't even use magic; she merely swept with a giant palm condensed from magic power, and as bricks and stones flew within the room, the charging guards were all sent flying back at an even faster speed.

Many even directly broke through the palace walls and fell outside the palace!

In an instant, only groans filled the ground; every person who had charged forward had at least a few broken bones, and some unlucky ones were even on their last breath!

It could be said that with one strike from Melita, Jeh's subordinates were essentially out of commission!

Only two Earth Knights could still endure the pain and struggle to get up!

But after the previous battle, they had already understood the gap between themselves and Melita, and could only watch as Melita thoroughly searched Jeh.

Melita examined the spoils she had obtained from Jeh, confirming that the Legendary magic protective gear was real.

Next was the space ring.

What Melita hadn't expected was that in Jeh's space ring, besides hundreds of millions of gold coins and hundreds of Advanced magic scrolls, there was also a Forbidden Curse Magic scroll called the Magic Divine Sword.

It should be known that the Magic Divine Sword is a single-target Forbidden Curse Magic.

Although it is an attribute-less magic, its power should not be underestimated.

Upon completion of its casting, it can summon a giant sword, thousands of meters long, entirely condensed from magic power and possessing armor-piercing properties.

Ordinary Legendary magic protective gear would be shattered in one blow.

The remaining power could even cause considerable damage to the person behind the protective gear.

Therefore, in terms of eliminating powerful experts, the Magic Divine Sword was much more formidable than Arthur's Meteor Shower and volcanic eruption.

After all, the latter two had area-of-effect properties, so their attack power would naturally be slightly less than the single-target Magic Divine Sword.

This meant that if Jeh had used this forbidden spell scroll inscribed with the Magic Divine Sword, it would still pose a certain threat to Melita!

Thinking of this, Melita couldn't help but feel fortunate that she had acted cautiously, thus avoiding this danger!

Then Melita thought again that Arthur seemed to lack such single-target Forbidden Curse Magic scrolls; if she brought this back, she would surely earn Arthur's praise.

Thinking of that possibility, a smile involuntarily appeared on Melita's pretty face!

On the other side, Jeh, as the king of a country, possessed a very good mind.

Although he knew his life was short, for the sake of the royal family and to prevent Melita from causing greater destruction,

he decided to stall for time, hoping for the Old Ancestor, who would discover the anomaly, to arrive.

Additionally, he wanted to probe for some information about the newcomer, and couldn't help but say:

"Your Excellency's plan, it seems, has succeeded, and I am now powerless to resist!

So I hope Your Excellency can satisfy my curiosity."

Then, without waiting for Melita's answer, Jeh began to speculate:

"The palace is heavily guarded; even a Sky Knight would find it almost impossible to infiltrate silently.

Coupled with the pressure you exert on me, which is almost identical to that of the Old Ancestor, Your Excellency must be a Legendary Expert!

Also, Your Excellency's azure hair somewhat resembles that of the kingdom's new neighbors, the Merfolk Clan. Could it be that the Merfolk Clan is preparing to go to war with humans?

Don't the Merfolk Clan advocate peace the most? Why would they actively provoke war!"

By the end of his speech, Jeh was even questioning her, showing that he had long since disregarded his own life and death.

He directly questioned Melita in his capacity as king!

Hearing this, Melita did not answer immediately; instead, she first sized up Jeh and his subordinates behind him.

Compared to Jeh, who dared to loudly question Melita, the two Earth Knight experts behind him who could barely stand,

after realizing Melita was a Legendary, although they barely managed to adopt a fighting stance, it was not difficult to see their inner tension and fear from their trembling.

"Being a king is indeed different!"

Seeing this, Melita couldn't help but sigh inwardly, even developing some admiration for Jeh in her heart.

To maintain emotional stability in the face of his own death and a Legendary like Melita, was truly extraordinary!

Unfortunately, no matter how outstanding Jeh was, as long as he was a stumbling block on Arthur's path to dominance, Melita could only eliminate him.

Furthermore, Melita naturally saw through Jeh's intention to stall for time, but she herself had planned to draw out the kingdom's Legendary Isaac.

Considering that she would be the guardian of the new kingdom in the future, she would definitely have to act.

Moreover, she would be fighting Isaac shortly, so her identity could not be hidden at all.

Therefore, regarding Jeh's speculation, she also replied aloud:

"Jeh, I must say you are a clever man, but your guess isn't entirely correct.

Given that you are about to die, I shall resolve the doubts in your heart!

My name is Melita, and I am indeed a Legendary of the Merfolk Clan, but unfortunately, I have no connection to the Merfolk Clan around Kate Kingdom.

Because just like you humans, our Merfolk Clan is also divided into many nations, and the country where I was born is very, very far from yours!"

Hearing Melita's reply, Jeh was stunned, because he hadn't expected Melita to be from the Merfolk Clan, but not the one next to them.

In that case, how could they have a conflict of interest? He couldn't help but ask in confusion:

"Since that's the case, why are you targeting me? You should know that Kate Kingdom has prohibited fishing for hundreds of years, so it's impossible for us to have offended your Sea Clan!"

To this, Melita also smiled:

"Jeh, do you really naively believe that on the Continent of Gods, where strength is revered, conflicts only arise from pre-existing disputes?

Why can't it be that I've taken a fancy to your wealth and interests!"

Hearing this, Jeh understood something and couldn't help but give a bitter smile:

"So, it's me and Kate Kingdom who are unlucky!"

"That's right!"

Receiving Melita's affirmative answer, Jeh was at a loss for words.

He could only lament his own weakness; they had already been quite low-key, yet they still became ripe for the picking in others' eyes.
