153: Mitchell
Relying on Elwin's Legendary strength, in less than a day, the two arrived at their destination: Haimo Kingdom, located tens of thousands of kilometers away from the Lionheart Kingdom.
The headquarters of the Dawn Merchant Guild was located here.
Although Haimo Kingdom was situated on the Continent of Gods, it was only slightly stronger than the former Kate Kingdom, possessing only two Legendaries.
The reason such a weak power could survive on the Continent of Gods was the Dawn Merchant Guild, which was stationed within their kingdom.
The Dawn Merchant Guild also did not want their headquarters to be in chaos, so the two parties reached an agreement to cooperate and jointly resist external invasions.
This was also why Haimo Kingdom could tolerate the powerful Dawn Merchant Guild being stationed in their kingdom.
Of course, even if Haimo Kingdom couldn't tolerate it, there was nothing they could do, as they were no match for the Dawn Merchant Guild.
Although the Dawn Merchant Guild was called a guild, with its strength of five Legendaries, it had secretly gained control over at least half of Haimo Kingdom's power.
Using the shell of a merchant guild to control the internal power of a kingdom was actually a taboo.
If the Dawn Merchant Guild continued to do this, other kingdoms would ostracize it, which would be detrimental to the guild's development.
Therefore, the Dawn Merchant Guild only engaged in this phenomenon within Haimo Kingdom, their main base.
In other kingdoms, they only conducted business and ignored everything else.
This was the long-term strategy!
The headquarters of the Dawn Merchant Guild was located in Haimo Kingdom, in a massive city named Dawn City.
With a population of three million, coupled with the foundation of the Dawn Merchant Guild, the city was extraordinarily prosperous!
Following Avril's instructions, Elwin arrived at Dawn City and found the city thriving.
However, as a Legendary Expert, Elwin was only slightly surprised by the sight and did not make any special movements.
Soon, the two arrived at the largest building in the city center, the entrance to the Dawn Merchant Guild Headquarters.
The guards outside the door clearly recognized Avril.
Although Avril was not highly regarded by her father, she was still the daughter of the Guild Master.
Thus, the guards quickly bowed:
"Young Miss Avril!"
In response, Avril merely nodded slightly.
Regarding Avril's sudden return, the guards were actually quite curious.
Generally speaking, only at the end of the year did Avril and other Branch Guild Masters gather at the headquarters.
Since it was only the beginning of the year, Avril's return to the headquarters definitely meant something important was happening.
But even if something was happening, it had little to do with them as guards.
They only speculated internally a few times before refocusing their attention on the passing pedestrians.
A Legendary Expert joining the Guild was no small matter, and few people had the authority to handle it. Avril's father was one of them.
Of course, other Legendaries could certainly handle it too.
But Avril, wanting to prove herself to her father, directly brought Elwin to the office reserved for the Guild Master.
Soon, the two arrived near the Guild Master's office. Just as they reached the door, they heard the sound of someone scolding.
"You absolute trash! How could that batch of goods sent to Katuo Kingdom disappear without a trace? Someone must have hijacked them! I'll give you one week; you must find them!"
"Yes, Guild Master, I will definitely accomplish it!"
Avril recognized that the person scolding was none other than her father, Mitchell Dawn.
Although Mitchell was in a bad mood, normally Avril might wait a while for her father to calm down before entering.
But now she had recruited a Legendary Expert for the Guild—this was massive good news—so she directly led Elwin inside.
Seeing someone enter, Mitchell stopped his scolding and looked up. Upon seeing Avril, whom he disliked, he frowned and said impatiently:
"Why are you at the headquarters at this time? Did something happen at the Kate Kingdom branch that you couldn't solve, forcing you to return for help?"
Only a little over a month had passed since Arthur renamed Kate Kingdom to Lionheart Kingdom, so Mitchell still didn't know that Kate Kingdom no longer existed.
Of course, the Guild's general information speed shouldn't be this slow, but Kate Kingdom was located in too remote an area.
Guild Master Mitchell simply paid no attention to it; otherwise, after a month, all news should have arrived.
Mitchell's line of questioning showed that he subconsciously assumed Avril only ever brought him trouble, never considering that she might have returned because of good news.
Avril was already used to Mitchell's attitude.
She replied without changing her expression:
"Father, I have important matters to discuss with you on this trip!"
"What is it?"
In Mitchell's view, Avril's "important matters" were just ordinary affairs to him, so he didn't dismiss the attendants.
Seeing this, Avril, who knew that recruiting a Legendary was a serious matter, immediately gave Mitchell a look, signaling that this matter should not be widely known.
Although he inwardly found Avril overly dramatic, just in case, Mitchell still waved his hand, signaling the person he had just scolded to leave.
Just like that, only Avril, Mitchell, and Elwin remained in the room!
The fact that Avril didn't ask Elwin to leave meant that the extraordinary matter she spoke of was likely related to him.
Thinking this, Mitchell finally took a proper look at Elwin.
This look was significant: Mitchell realized he couldn't see through Elwin's strength.
This led to two possibilities: either Elwin was a Legendary Expert just like him, or Elwin possessed treasures or secret techniques that concealed his aura.
Mitchell initially leaned toward the latter possibility, because how could Avril casually bring back a Legendary Expert?
However, even if it was due to a treasure or secret technique, anyone capable of blocking the detection of him, a Legendary, must be extraordinary.
This caused a hint of anticipation to rise in Mitchell's heart regarding what Avril had to say.
"Father, a major change occurred in Kate Kingdom, where I was stationed, this year. The kingdom changed hands a month ago!
The original Legendary Isaac was killed, and the former Kate Kingdom has now been renamed Lionheart Kingdom!
And the new Lionheart Kingdom is far stronger than the former Kate Kingdom. It has displayed three Legendary Experts: one human, one Mermaid, and one Legendary Dragon!"
"A Legendary Dragon? Are you sure you haven't made a mistake?"
The power of Dragons, which could be called invincible among Legendaries, would cause huge waves wherever they appeared on the Continent of Gods.
Thus, a surprised Mitchell couldn't help but interrupt Avril and ask.
"Yes, Father.
The matter of the Dragon was witnessed by countless people; it cannot be false!"
"If that is truly the case, then the current Lionheart Kingdom is certainly worthy of our attention!
So, why exactly have you returned?"
Seeing such a massive change occur in Kate Kingdom, Mitchell became curious about Avril's purpose for returning.
