5: Copy Golden Knight Armor

"But Sean's wife has no strength. Even with our Counts Mansion as a backing, it would likely bring him much trouble. So we agreed with him to distribute this money over ten years, and she agreed!"

"That's good, then I can rest easy!"

Hearing that the funeral arrangements for the two of them were handled well, Arthur was relieved.

Afterward, Arthur's mind turned to another matter: what item to copy with his Portable Shop's once-a-month duplication chance, and how to earn more gold coins to buy items from the shop?

First, regarding the item to be copied—besides being able to make money, it should ideally be of some use to him in the future.

This meant his first item didn't need to be something too precious; otherwise, not only would he be unable to afford it, but it would also be too conspicuous when sold.

Thus, Arthur thought back and forth, and his gaze suddenly landed on the knight's full-body armor placed in his study.

knight armor, also known as knight full-body armor, can protect the entire person, providing a great sense of security.

What can be called knight armor is no ordinary full-body armor; the most basic kind can withstand several full-force strikes from a Bronze Knight.

And Arthur's set of knight armor was even more extraordinary; it was a gift from his father, Abergh, when he made a Breakthrough to the Bronze Knight level this year.

It was said to be forged jointly by a Great Master blacksmith and a mage. Not only could it withstand eighty percent of a Gold Knight's attack power, but it could also significantly weaken the power of corresponding Magister magic.

This could be seen from the mysterious patterns covering the knight armor.

It could be said to be a Sharp Weapon for charging through battlefields and saving one's life.

Due to the armor's power, it had another name: the gold knight armor!

After all, it can help you block most of a Gold Knight's attack power.

Of course, this didn't mean that Arthur, who was only a Bronze Knight, could wear the gold knight armor to fight a Gold Knight.

After all, even if the gold knight armor could weaken most of a Gold Knight's attack power, the remaining force would be enough to shock Arthur, who was only a Bronze Knight, to death.

Such precious armor was extremely rare on the market, with a price of at least three hundred thousand gold coins.

This made the gold knight armor a family heirloom even in an ordinary Viscount Fief. After all, the annual income of an average Viscount was only one hundred thousand gold coins. To buy a set of armor while ensuring the normal operation of the territory, one would have to save for at least five or six years.

There would be no lack of buyers for such a life-saving Sharp Weapon, and it could be used by his subordinates in the future. It was a perfect Portable Shop duplicate!

Thinking of this, Arthur made a decision. He then lightly touched the Golden Knight Kai with his finger and silently thought, "Copy."

Following Arthur's silent command, no strange phenomenon occurred. The only difference was that an item identical to the armor in front of Arthur appeared on the shelves of the Portable Shop.

This made Arthur breathe a sigh of relief. Otherwise, he would have to be careful when copying things in the future. Now that he saw there were no strange phenomena during duplication, he was at ease.

But just as he relaxed, Arthur thought of another problem: the size of armor worn by different people is different.

Even if the armor itself has a certain degree of adaptability, it wouldn't work if the body shapes differed too much. He wondered if the Portable Shop could solve this problem.

Thinking of this, Arthur tapped the icon of the gold knight armor in the Portable Shop, and a detailed description appeared:

"A fairly decent set of armor that can withstand most attacks from a Gold Knight and a Magister. The size of the armor can be selected upon purchase. Price: 30,000 gold coins."

Seeing that he could choose the size of the armor, Arthur was instantly relieved. Then, seeing that the price of the armor was only 30,000 gold coins, it meant that Arthur, who had over 30,000 gold coins on him, could just afford to buy it.

To test the authenticity of the Portable Shop, 30,000 gold coins suddenly poured out from the space ring on Arthur's finger.

They piled into a small mound. He then silently thought "Top up," and the 30,000 gold coins immediately disappeared.

The balance in the Portable Shop changed, going from zero to thirty thousand gold coins.

Then, with a slightly trembling finger, Arthur lightly tapped the purchase button on the armor.

At this moment, he was very anxious. After all, if the armor could really be purchased, it would mean the Portable Shop was real, and his future would be bright.

If it couldn't be purchased, it would mean the Portable Shop was just for show, and he could only honestly be a lord in the Counts Fief.

He would even lose the 30,000 gold coins he had just topped up!

In this tense atmosphere, Arthur's trembling finger finally pressed the purchase button.

Then, a set of armor identical to Arthur's original gold knight armor suddenly appeared on the carpet in front of him.

Seeing this, Arthur's uneasy heart mostly settled, but not completely.

Because he still had to confirm that the armor bought from the Portable Shop was the real deal.

First, he touched it with his hand and found that the material was no different. Then, he took out his knight sword and slashed it with force. Amidst flying sparks, the armor remained unscathed.

However, the ordinary knight sword had a small nick in it.

Until this moment, Arthur finally confirmed the authenticity of the Portable Shop, and a surge of wild joy welled up in his heart.

Knowing he couldn't make a loud noise inside the castle, Arthur didn't laugh out loud. Instead, he kept a silent smile, walking back and forth in the room to release his excitement.

After a while, Arthur returned to normal.

Having regained his composure, Arthur quickly put the newly purchased gold knight armor into his space ring. He couldn't let anyone see this thing now, or it would be hard to explain.

Next was to think about how to sell this extra Golden Knight Kai to recover his funds.

For the next few days, Arthur kept thinking about the sale of the gold knight armor, but he couldn't find a good way.

Because in the entire Mad Lion City—the main city within the Counts Fief—everyone who could afford 300,000 gold coins to buy the gold knight armor knew him. If Arthur went to sell it directly, he would surely be exposed.

But the situation soon took a turn, as a piece of news traveled from the Royal Capital to Mondo Province.

More than twenty years had passed since Mondo Province was reclaimed, and the Kingdom once again had the strength and foundation for military action.

It was preparing to attack north again to seize more land from the Orcs in the Barren Plains.

This deadline was roughly three years away. Before then, anyone could obtain a development decree from the Empire Noble Notary for ten thousand gold coins.

Those who possessed a development decree could go ahead to the Barren Plains outside Mondo Province to develop territory. The larger the territory occupied, the more likely they were to be directly granted a corresponding noble title.

Once this news came out, the entire Kingdom was in an uproar, because in the current Kingdom, many noble descendants had no land left to be enfeoffed with and could only be honorary nobles without a fief.

After all, those like Arthur, who didn't have to worry about having a territory in the future, were only a minority.
