121: Chapter 121 Upgrade! Aircraft Carrier + Fortress

"This is outrageous!"

Chen Fan glared, wishing he could skin the soldier in front of him alive.

Although he wasn't exactly a good person.

But deep down, he extremely detested people who framed their own compatriots for profit.

In Chen Fan's heart, such people were no different from animals.

This behavior reminded him of certain dirty countries where he had once lived.

"Commander, please calm down... We are just cannon fodder; none of this is something we can decide."

The soldier lay on the ground, glancing at Chen Fan from the corner of his eye.

Swallowing his saliva, he whispered, "Besides, our General Zhou also extremely detests this behavior, but..."

"But what?"

"However, the Commander-in-Chief and the other two generals are strongly pushing for this, so our General Zhou is helpless."

"Oh?"

Chen Fan raised an eyebrow slightly, having keenly grasped some information.

"In other words, there is internal discord among you?"

Seeing that Chen Fan's tone had softened, the soldier nodded repeatedly.

"We are generally divided into two factions. The one led by our General and a few elders is the conservative faction; they do not believe that sacrificing our own people to increase strength is the right way."

"However, the radical faction has greater power; they advocate feeding all useless residents to the divine beast."

Hearing this, Chen Fan's eyes flickered, and he exchanged a glance with Lairuilei, who was standing beside him.

She understood immediately and pulled Lilai towards the cabin.

Before long, she returned slowly and leaned into Chen Fan's ear:

"Confirmed, the statements of the five people are almost identical."

Chen Fan nodded and looked at the soldier again.

"Are you the leader of the five? What is your name?"

The soldier was startled and said quickly:

"This one is named Zhou Heng, serving as an Air Force pilot."

"Surname Zhou?" Chen Fan raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Yes, Commander. This one is a distant relative of General Zhou, so..."

Chen Fan looked at the surrounding sea, his eyes shifting slightly.

"Then can you contact him?"

"Commander, there is a communication device in my belt, it is an internal device of the Zhou Family."

"Very good, contact your General Zhou; I have something to ask him."

Hearing this, Zhou Heng gave a sharp military salute and quickly removed his belt.

After fiddling with it for a while, he took out a crystal the size of a fingernail from inside.

With Chen Fan's nod, he took a deep breath and began to activate the crystal.

A moment later, he exclaimed, "Impossible!"

"What?"

"This communication device can be used anywhere in the world. But now... it's malfunctioning?"

Zhou Heng widened his eyes, fiddling with the crystal in disbelief.

"Not the same world? I see."

Chen Fan narrowed his eyes and stepped forward to confiscate the crystal.

He had originally thought that the main storyline and the dungeon were in the same world.

Now it seemed he had guessed wrong.

"There is signal interference here; contact him tomorrow. If you can persuade General Zhou to be an insider, I can help you destroy the other faction."

Hearing this, Zhou Heng looked up abruptly, staring at Chen Fan in disbelief.

"Are you serious?"

"Of course, I am very interested in the divine beast you mentioned; just give it to me when the time comes. As for your city, I am not interested."

"However, you must act as laborers for me to build airplanes."

Chen Fan added in his heart.

"But... your warship doesn't seem to be a match for ours..."

Zhou Heng said weakly.

Chen Fan glared, raising his hand to slap him.

"Don't hit me, don't hit me, I was wrong, Commander, you can crush us at will."

Zhou Heng covered his head with both hands and plopped onto the ground, causing Lairuilei to cover her mouth and giggle.

Chen Fan glared at her and waved his hand.

Several Sailors stepped forward and dragged him away to be detained.

"Master is currently weak and small; just getting angry won't make you big, oh."

Lilai, enjoying the chaos, leaned in and smiled cheekily.

"Weak and small? I think you're asking for a beating."

Chen Fan was angry and grabbed both women, one in each hand, dragging them into the cabin.

...

[Obtained: Large-caliber artillery x500.]

[Obtained: super energy chip x92,000. super energy nova x85,000.]

After a long while of "blue on top, green on bottom" or "green on top, blue on bottom," Chen Fan received the supplies traded by The Five Women.

Looking at the two exhausted women, he snorted softly and walked out of the cabin.

As usual, he traded 2000 of each of the two types of supplies.

Looking at the supplies list, he frowned slightly:

"There aren't many rare supplies left; help me get some more."

"Okay~"

The Five Women responded coquettishly.

Working in groups, their efficiency was far higher than before.

In less than five minutes, Chen Fan received 200,000 of each rare supply.

Seeing this, Chen Fan couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

Sure enough, one must have a team, but the only downside is that the number of people is too small.

Smacking his lips, Chen Fan opened the sea chart.

There was still some time before the anti-submarine helicopter finished upgrading.

Taking advantage of this time to conduct Exploration of the sea chart and farm a few more Red Island is the right thing to do.

A few hours passed.

Chen Fan finally found another Red Island.

Just as he was preparing to go onto the island, the long-awaited voice finally sounded.

[Ding!]

[Upgrade successful: anti-submarine helicopter.]

[The destroyer's firepower equipment is full, activating the next level.]

[Upgrading requires special supplies: rare mineral cluster x100,000. energy focusing crystal x100,000. plasma energy core x100,000. alloy ingot x100,000. nano-fiber bundle x100,000.]

[Requires superpower supplies: super energy chip x50,000. super energy nova x50,000.]

Even though Chen Fan was mentally prepared, he was still startled by the required supplies.

Damn it, the aircraft carrier upgrade starts at a million, right?

Who can afford this upgrade?

Let alone the fortress.

The basic supplies have reached a terrifying 2 million.

I'm afraid an entire region of a million people couldn't support a few of these, right?

And what is this arresting gear?

Chen Fan was stunned for a moment, then opened the description to check for a moment.

"An upgraded version of rope? Could it be that I need to use Purification on rope?"

Taking out a handful of rope, Chen Fan activated SSS-level Purification.

[Insufficient supplies, cannot perform Purification.]

Whoa.

Chen Fan raised an eyebrow and took out one hundred.

[Insufficient supplies, cannot perform Purification.]

Chen Fan was angry and directly took out ten thousand ropes.

[Purification successful, obtained: arresting gear x1.]

"Damn... ten thousand to one?"

Chen Fan shook his head speechlessly, even more certain that this thing was not meant for ordinary players to upgrade.

He spent one million ropes to tinker out 100 arresting gear.

"For this aircraft carrier, besides me, is there anyone else who can upgrade it? Not to mention the crazy amount of supplies, just the arresting gear alone is something very few people can get."

After complaining for a long time.

Chen Fan suddenly realized.

No wonder there were so many additional weapons after upgrading the destroyer earlier.

It turns out they never expected players to upgrade to an aircraft carrier at all.

It is estimated that an ordinary region can at most support one aircraft carrier and one fortress.

The remaining core combat power peaks at the destroyer.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Chen Fan scanned the supplies and raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Fortunately, this expert can support two ships all by himself."

"However, there is no Gunpowder in these fortress upgrade supplies. Could it be that it has no extra firepower upgrades?"

"Whatever, System, upgrade!"

[Ding.]

[china: upgrading to aircraft carrier.]

[china clone: upgrading to fortress.]

[Time required for upgrade: 48h.]

[forerunner title bonus in effect, time required: 28.8h.]
