162: Chapter 162 complete, Small City Map

"No, it's not the Holy Gate." Chen Fan shook his head.

In his view, a giant door, hundreds of meters high and a hundred meters wide, stood inside the room.

Unlike the Holy Gate, which was entirely golden, this door was pitch black, like a black hole.

After a moment of contemplation, Chen Fan released some Crew Members.

"Drake, lead the team to scout the path."

"Yes, my master."

Drake took two hundred Blade Soldiers and advanced toward the black mist.

Walking up to the strange building, Drake pushed the door, only to find it wouldn't budge.

Several Blade Soldiers stepped forward and hacked repeatedly, breaking the door lock.

The group cautiously explored inside.

Through the surveillance view, visibility was only two meters. However, the situation inside was consistent with Chen Fan's Exploration; there were no traps or similar things.

As they walked deep into the house, the sound of footsteps awakened people in a strange state.

They bared their fangs and claws, let out strange roars, and charged forward.

Bursts of "clacking" sounds rang out.

Once they got closer, Chen Fan's scalp immediately went numb.

These people were more like zombies than humans.

Their bodies were twisted in unnatural, disjointed ways.

These "clacking" sounds were the noise of bones rubbing against each other.

Chen Fan did not doubt for a second that even if he didn't attack them and just led them around in circles, they would eventually torture themselves to death.

Looking at them up close, their eye sockets were deeply sunken, and blinding red light shot out from their hollow pupils.

"Kill them. In this state, being alive is worse than being dead."

Chen Fan shook his head and issued the command.

Two hundred Blade Soldiers swarmed over and hacked them to death with their blades.

The group moved on again, advancing toward the deeper parts.

Up ahead, they encountered several more waves of zombies, which the two hundred Blade Soldiers cut down in an instant.

Just as they continued to move forward, Chen Fan frowned.

The zombie that had just been cut down in front of them was actually wearing a city wall guard's uniform.

"Could they be the guards here?"

Chen Fan narrowed his eyes and controlled Drake to turn back and check.

Sure enough.

This group of people were all wearing guards' uniforms.

After pondering for a moment, Chen Fan activated Exploration and carefully scanned the area.

The entire city, except for a few zombie-like humans, was like a dead city.

Chen Fan frowned slightly and released another batch of Crew Members, who rushed toward the spot where the plane had crashed.

Before long, Chen Fan saw the pilots who had died in a miserable state inside the plane.

These people also had sunken eye sockets and pale, bluish faces.

However, they looked much better than those inside the house.

Chen Fan carefully recalled the scene when the five hundred archers had emerged earlier.

In his memory, those people also had sunken eye sockets and red eyes.

"Strange, where did those soldiers guarding the city wall go? Could it be that besides the waterway, there is another road leading to other cities from the city wall?"

After thinking for a long time without finding an answer, Chen Fan shook his head and looked at the surveillance monitor.

Drake and the others had already arrived in front of the giant crystalline object.

"This must be the energy core. Smash it!"

At his command, the two hundred Blade Soldiers swung their blades in unison.

After hacking dozens of times, the crystalline object remained unscathed.

"Kadel."

With a low shout, Kadel let out a hiccup and appeared by his side.

He squinted his eyes and looked at the surveillance monitor, swaying unsteadily.

He reached his right hand into his crotch and slowly pulled out the keen giant gun.

Thirty seconds later.

"Bang—"

With a loud bang, the massive bullet tore through the air and struck the very center of the crystalline object.

The giant crystalline object trembled a few times.

Immediately after, "crack, crack" sounds rang out.

Countless cracks spread out from the bullet hole.

A moment later, it shattered into pieces filling the air with a bang.

Strangely, after falling, these fragments did not land on the ground but hovered a dozen centimeters above it.

In the corner, a half-dead zombie let out a low growl and crawled toward the fragment closest to it.

"Hmph!"

Drake snorted coldly and killed the zombie with one stroke.

Chen Fan shifted his gaze and carefully examined the hovering fragments.

"I'm done collecting, Brother, what are you doing standing at the door?"

Jiu Jiu trotted over and grabbed Chen Fan's right arm.

"You came just in time, let's go in and collect the supplies." Chen Fan pinched her little cheek.

"Okay, I'll give you the eye of annihilation first."

[Obtained: eye of annihilation x300,000.]

Chen Fan raised an eyebrow slightly; he didn't expect there to be over three thousand.

Looking at the third upgrade option, which was still gray, Chen Fan couldn't wait to walk into the room.

If nothing went wrong, what was floating on the ground should be another type of annihilation resource.

The group quickly walked inside and, before long, arrived at the place filled with fragments on the ground.

"Pick them up and see, they should also be annihilation resources."

"Mm-hmm."

Jiu Jiu reached out and picked one up, her eyes immediately lighting up.

"annihilation particles!"

Jiu Jiu kept bending down, and her Crew Members followed along to pick them up too.

Before long, all the fragments on the ground had been collected by her.

[Obtained: annihilation particles x400,000.]

Letting out a long sigh of relief, Chen Fan smiled: "There's one last step left, let's go check it out first."

The group turned around and headed toward the giant black door.

Jiu Jiu's eyes were filled with shock; it was her first time seeing such a huge door.

Chen Fan recalled that the size of this door was almost identical to the Holy Gate.

Likewise, there was no keyhole on this door either.

After thinking for a moment, Chen Fan took out the gold key and inserted it toward the black door.

However, when the key touched the door, Chen Fan clearly felt a resistance; no matter how hard he pushed, he couldn't move it forward.

"It doesn't work?"

Chen Fan shrugged and took the key back.

Seeing Jiu Jiu's confused look, he couldn't help but smile:

"In the Superpower Metropolis dungeon, I encountered a gold door the same size as this one, which was opened using the gold key. After entering that time, it teleported me to the City of Sin."

"So that's it, no wonder you knew the location here." Jiu Jiu's eyes lit up, and she guessed:

"Doesn't that mean if we find the key to open this door, we can teleport to other places again?"

Chen Fan nodded, "It should be, but that's a matter for the future. Let's get out of here first, it's weirdly eerie in here."

"Okay." Jiu Jiu nodded obediently.

The group began their return journey.

Just as they walked out of the house, the system sound rang out.

[World Broadcast.]

[District 1 Players have completed the mission: Destroy City of Sin (Rank A), Mission Rating: Rank S.]

[All District 1 Players receive rewards: Basic Supplies x30,000. Gold Coins x20,000. Rare Supplies x500. Hidden Supplies x100.]

[Player: china, receives additional reward: All Title Levels +1.]

[Player: china, receives additional reward: Small City Guidebook.]

"Rank S, huh?"

Chen Fan clicked his tongue.

As expected, he probably needed to open this black door to get an SSS Rank rating.

But it was fine, his title level increased by one.

Chen Fan estimated that as long as it was an S Rank rating, it would increase his title level.

He took out the Small City Guidebook, only to find he couldn't view it.

"Great, have to wait for progress again."

Just like that, while the District 1 Players were still struggling to move bricks, rewards fell from the sky, stunning them.

"Holy crap! Boss is awesome!"

"Boss is mighty, completing the mission quietly like that."

"Everyone, hurry up and move bricks, let's add bricks and tiles to the Boss's aircraft carrier."

"Alright, everyone let's go, we've only dismantled half of the city wall!"

Seeing their boisterous cheers, Chen Fan couldn't help but smile.

Suddenly, another system sound rang out, stunning the Players again.

[Ding!]

[Server-wide Broadcast.]
