272: Chapter 272 The Underground World?

The moment he received the one hundred thousand resources, Chen Fan was still marveling at Qiu Shui's generosity.

But he immediately felt something was off and shifted his gaze to the back of her nickname.

A blue "95" stood out prominently.

"Another one? Not bad."

Nodding slightly, Chen Fan pulled out a handful of resources and squeezed them tightly in his palm.

"X-Ray Vision."

A light screen unfolded, and an island twice the size of Huaxia City appeared on the screen.

On the shallows, a vast number of Crew Members, under the command of Players, were resisting the final wave of landing skeletons.

Among the many warships, a group surrounded a destroyer like stars around the moon.

On the deck of the destroyer, a graceful young girl stood, commanding the Players.

At the edge of the shallows, a raging fire was burning.

As the skeletons landed, more than half of their health was burned away by the flames; in the end, they couldn't advance more than a few steps before being killed by focused arrow fire.

As the last skeleton fell, all the Players turned to look at the portal simultaneously.

After seeing that no more monsters appeared, they all breathed a sigh of relief and then looked toward the destroyer's deck with glowing faces.

Chen Fan carefully observed their expressions.

Amidst the excitement, there was a hint of respect, admiration, and even some traces of affection.

Following their gaze, Chen Fan looked at the graceful girl once more.

She had snow-white skin all over, and even her waist-length hair was pure white.

She stood slightly on her tiptoes, her entire being floating about three centimeters above the deck, her long hair moving even without wind.

Suddenly, she stopped smiling, lifted her head high, and swept her gaze toward the X-ray viewpoint.

Chen Fan had an illusion that Qiu Shui's watery eyes could seemingly pierce through the X-ray space to lock eyes with him.

"You're watching me, aren't you?"

Suddenly, Chen Fan received a message from Qiu Shui.

Chen Fan's eyes narrowed slightly. "How did you know?"

On the screen, Qiu Shui met Chen Fan's gaze and pointed a finger at her own eyes.

Her cold and clean girl's voice came through for the first time: "My domain can cover the entire island. I can perceive any situation."

Chen Fan nodded slightly and looked at Qiu Shui's nickname column again.

"A 95-score, plus a domain Talent. Not bad, not bad."

He opened the sea chart, searched for a moment, and found the location of District 985.

At the aircraft carrier's speed, it would take about five hours to get there; it wasn't far.

And if he remembered correctly, when District 985 merged, it had incorporated the equally strong District 211.

In other words, they currently had over 1.5 million Players of decent strength.

Chen Fan rubbed his chin, his mind constantly calculating.

Chen Fan didn't say anything, which caused Qiu Shui to make several guesses.

"You aren't planning something against our district, are you?"

There was a hint of nervousness in her cold, clean voice.

Seeing her tense appearance, Chen Fan suddenly felt like teasing her. "And what if I am?"

To his surprise, Qiu Shui only nodded gently.

"Then we'll destroy our main city right now and run away immediately."

"..."

Chen Fan suddenly felt bored. Seeing that no more monsters were emerging from the portal, he said casually:

"Don't worry, I have no designs on you for now. If monsters appear from the portal again, remember to tell me."

After saying that, Chen Fan closed the light screen and turned his attention to the front lines.

Inside the portal, clusters of spiders were still being thrown out continuously.

However, what Chen Fan didn't know was this.

Just after he closed the light screen, Qiu Shui's eyes narrowed slightly, and the corners of her mouth curled up a bit.

A low hum of ambiguous meaning escaped her lips:

"My head isn't made of dough, hmph hmph..."

After staring at the sky for a long while, Qiu Shui finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Moving with lotus steps, her body actually floated in the air as she stepped into the cabin one pace at a time.

From beginning to end, although she was walking, her feet never touched the ground.

...

"Brother, there are more and more spiders. It's like they'll never stop."

Jiu Jiu leaned over, looking somewhat worried.

"Is that so? More than at the beginning?"

"Yes, each wave is larger than the last."

Chen Fan frowned slightly, his gaze locking onto the portal.

A few minutes later, six spider clusters were thrown out one after another.

He stared intently at those six black spheres, comparing them to his memory of the start.

Soon, he reached a conclusion:

"The spheres are about a third larger than before."

"Mhm, not only have they gotten bigger, but the number of spider clusters being spat out is also increasing."

"Yeah, let's keep watching."

Chen Fan rubbed his chin, still staring at the portal.

After another few minutes, seven spheres were spat out.

Fifteen minutes later, eight spheres.

More and more spheres were being spat out, and the size of each wave was slightly larger than the previous one.

The pressure on the Players gradually increased, and more and more spiders slipped through the net.

With his Exploration vision active, Chen Fan witnessed a vast swarm of spiders rushing toward the main city.

"Davian."

"Yes, my master."

Davian first replied, then gave a low shout: "Transform!"

The destroyer gradually morphed, turning into a Mechanical Dragon and flying high into the sky.

Black mist instantly blanketed the entire sea area.

Roar—

Flame Breath swept down toward the sea.

Instantly, the pressure on the Players plummeted.

Chen Fan nodded slightly and called out again:

"Aurell."

"This Great Master doesn't need your directions!"

Aurell gave a low shout and quickly flew the plane to Chen Fan's side.

Chen Fan hopped on, and the two of them rushed to the vicinity of the main city.

The situation here was relatively optimistic.

With the detection from the defense turrets, no matter how many spiders came, they couldn't breach the defensive line.

Just then, a message popped up in the crew channel.

"There's something strange here. Do you want to come and take a look?"

Ruituocuipu's voice sounded somewhat grave.

Chen Fan's brow furrowed as he looked toward the portal.

Although the number of spiders being spat out was still increasing, the Players could hold for now with the help of the Mechanical Dragon and the annihilation ship.

Seeing this, Chen Fan nodded, and the two of them rushed toward the back mountain.

In a short while, they stopped at the entrance of the underground passage.

"I'm here. What happened?"

Chen Fan asked as he headed down the stairs.

"You'll know once you get here. The situation is a bit complicated."

Chen Fan moved quickly, his heels barely touching the ground as he sped along the passage.

Soon, Ruituocuipu and the other Goblins appeared before him.

Seeing Chen Fan arrive, Ruituocuipu didn't waste words and led the way directly.

After winding through many paths, just as Chen Fan was about to get dizzy, Ruituocuipu stopped.

"Look ahead."

Chen Fan looked closely, and a much wider tunnel appeared before his eyes.

"This tunnel is dug quite professionally, but what did you want me to see?"

Ruituocuipu fell silent for a moment, his voice grave:

"These... weren't dug by us."

"What?"

Chen Fan's eyelid twitched, and his gaze immediately swept over the tunnel ahead.

Looking in from the entrance, there were endless various passages inside.

Some were even blocked by boulders, clearly indicating that creatures were living inside.

Chen Fan took a deep breath. "Are you sure you're not joking?"

"Yes, these were not dug by us."

Ruituocuipu nodded.
