51: Chapter 51 The Army Presses In

Seeing Drake's strange behavior, Jiu Jiu's eyes flickered slightly.

She followed suit and ordered the Crew Members to lie flat on the ground.

Instantly, her gaze was drawn to the rising dust.

"Something is coming!"

"What is it? Sister Jiujiu, be more specific."

"My god! The ground is shaking!"

"Holy crap, it really is. What is this?"

Chen Fan suddenly had an ominous premonition and growled:

"All units, fall back! Retreat to the shallows!"

The Five Women were stunned for a moment, then began commanding the units to evacuate.

Although they didn't understand why, their long-standing trust in Chen Fan led them to make the right choice.

However...

The frequency of the tremors increased, and a large cloud of grey mist appeared beyond the distant horizon.

"Rumble, rumble—"

The sound of dense footsteps rang out, continuously kicking up dust from the ground.

In just that brief moment of hesitation, hundreds of cavalrymen came whistling toward them.

On the Crew Members' side, only a third had retreated to the narrow path.

The remaining majority were scattered and decimated by a single charge.

"It's actually cavalry!!"

Vase screamed in belated realization and hurriedly replenished the Crew Members.

"Why are there so many cavalrymen? Didn't they not even have clothes to wear before?"

"Yeah, Brother Fan, what's going on?"

"Do you think I'm some kind of immortal who can predict the future?"

Chen Fan curled his lip. "Keep the units coming and retreat to the narrow path; the cavalry will be useless there."

Jiu Jiu responded immediately, "Right, cavalry can only charge on this flat main road."

"Dammit, I was wondering why there was a road like this; it turns out it was an ambush."

Samo gritted her teeth; after that single charge, her units were almost completely wiped out.

Even the S-rank Ship Captain and Navigator were torn apart.

Within the wide corridor, the cavalrymen who had finished their charge slowly came to a halt.

Only then could Chen Fan see their appearance clearly from a distance.

Both men and horses were clad in light armor, with long spears glinting coldly in their hands.

They looked exactly like Light Cavalry.

"Damn, we were fooled by their bronze shields; their technology is beyond the Bronze Age."

"Swish—"

The sound of wind being sliced rang out.

It turned out to be Samo's last remaining S-Class Sharpshooter, who had turned back and quietly fired an arrow.

The arrow flew straight toward the lead Cavalryman.

"Hmm?"

The lead Cavalryman swung his spear, precisely slicing the arrow in two.

He snorted coldly:

"Audacious Scourge Survivors! How dare you not kneel before this General!"

As soon as he spoke, the six of them were instantly stunned.

For no other reason than the fact that this General was actually speaking human language!

"Forget it. Since you survivors are so restless, then die here."

"Infantry Regiment, kill!"

With a wave of the General's spear, thousands of infantrymen in cloth armor roared as they rushed toward the narrow path.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

"Awoo, awoo—"

"Ji, ji, ji, ji—"

Unlike the General, these infantrymen spoke an unintelligible language, except for the most basic single words.

These savages had extremely thick thighs.

Bulging muscles covered their exposed skin.

They caught up to the Crew Members in a few strides and began hacking away with their blades.

For a time, severed limbs flew everywhere.

"Don't stop. Pull the battlefield to the shore; use rotation tactics."

Chen Fan commanded calmly.

Obviously, these cavalrymen couldn't gallop on the narrow path.

In that case, as long as they concentrated the Crew Members in the shallows to reduce the contact area, they could use rotation tactics to wear them down.

Chen Fan's plan was sound. Once the Crew Members retreated to the shallows and secured their formation, the rate of casualties stabilized.

Several small paths were left in the middle of the Archer formation to allow melee units to pass through.

The Sailors and infantry in the front fought with all their might.

In an instant, blood stained the shallows red.

Looking at the bloody scene, The Five Women couldn't help but feel their stomach acid rising.

Seeing the enemy Archers appear, they suddenly became anxious.

"Brother Fan, think of something! They have so many Archers. One volley and all our Crew Members will die."

"We're toast! We can't do the rotation tactic now!"

"Brother Fan, say something."

"That cavalry General actually came over; he's commanding the infantry!!!"

The Light Cavalry General brandished the long spear in his hand.

Immediately, the Archers raised their wooden bows and fired in unison.

After one round, more than half of the Crew Members were killed or wounded.

Seeing the General wave his spear again, preparing for a second volley...

Lairuilei snorted coldly and stepped forward.

"No need, you take a break. Leave this kind of single target to Shorty."

Chen Fan pulled her back and said softly.

As soon as he spoke...

Kadel, behind them, was displeased. He huffed and puffed as he jumped onto the railing.

"Who are you calling Shorty?"

Chen Fan laughed loudly. "Short Lord, help me take out that General."

"That's more like it."

Kadel hummed and reached down to pull out a long gun from his crotch area.

After skillfully loading the bullet, he raised his hand and fired.

The bullet whistled through the air, passing through the vortex and heading straight for the General.

The General, who had already been ambushed once, was instantly alert.

His right hand instinctively swung the long spear.

"This General said, it's use—"

Before he could finish, a bullet pierced through the spear and shot into his forehead.

The massive impact sent him flying backward, tumbling to the ground.

After twitching for a moment, he became motionless.

The savage camp suddenly fell silent.

The surrounding guards roared and lunged to the General's side, shaking his body repeatedly.

However, the bullet that had pierced his brain gave him no chance to speak any last words.

"Now's the time, press forward!"

Chen Fan growled and controlled the infantry to press forward across the entire line.

The Five Women snapped back to their senses and followed the rhythm.

In the blink of an eye...

The battle line, which had been pushed toward the shallows, instantly receded.

Several cavalrymen galloped over, trampling on the fallen infantry.

Two cavalrymen helped the General onto a horse and quickly retreated.

Another Cavalryman, who looked like a Vice General, shouted a few times:

"Awoo-oo—"

Instantly, the infantrymen who had lost their leader gritted their teeth, gripped their weapons, and pressed forward again with bloodshot eyes.

"Despicable survivors, give me your lives!"

The Vice General roared in human language, taking the place of the commander and waving his spear.

"Bang—"

Another bullet pierced through the Vice General.

The same scene, the same backward trajectory; the Vice General collapsed on the ground.

"Is this Vice General brain-dead?"

Chen Fan shook his head and sneered.

The commander had already been shot dead, yet without understanding the situation, he actually dared to continue waving his spear in the same spot.

"Bang, bang—"

Kadel said nothing more, loading his gun and firing two more shots.

He headshotted the two cavalrymen who were coming to collect the bodies.

Blowing the white smoke from the muzzle, Kadel glanced at Chen Fan out of the corner of his eye.

Seeing his pleasantly surprised expression, Kadel couldn't help but curl his lips and fired again after reloading.

With Kadel's support, the cavalry didn't dare show their heads again, and the battlefield returned to a stalemate between the infantries.

"Woo—"

Just then, the low sound of a military horn rang out.

Chen Fan looked toward the sound.

Densely packed Archers appeared deep within the grass.

After a quick count, Chen Fan's eyes narrowed.

There were actually thousands of Archers arriving!
