79: Chapter 79 Invulnerable to Swords and Spears

In his field of vision, on the shallows of Savage Island, a group of savages were laying city walls using bricks made of mud.

After a day of hard work, they had almost completely enclosed the shallows, leaving only one entrance.

Two savages stood guard at the entrance, one on the left and one on the right.

"What can this thing even block?"

Chen Fan shook his head with a sneer.

Though, it made sense; previously, when he and Fangs landed, they had always just stormed the place and never used firearms.

The only exception was when Fangs left last time and shot an Explosion arrow at the giant ape, but its power was limited.

Presumably, these savages mistook Chen Fan for some petty thief, thinking a mud wall could stop him.

This made it easier for Chen Fan to clear the island.

"The only thing worth noting is that Man-eating Flower. It's a pity that Fangs' Focus Divine Liquid was taken back, though I don't know where he even got it from."

Chen Fan curled his lip; if he weren't cheating, he probably wouldn't be a match for the Emperor and Fangs.

He really didn't know what kind of opportunities they had stumbled upon to be able to develop at the same speed as The Five Women without cheating.

"What is Brother thinking about?"

Jiu Jiu held onto Chen Fan's right arm, tilting her head, her long eyelashes fluttering.

After recovering from her discomfort, she had boarded Chen Fan's warship, letting her own Crew Member sail her ship to follow.

"The savages over there actually built a mud city wall; it's simply ridiculous."

Chen Fan shook his head and chuckled.

Hearing this, Jiu Jiu blinked.

"Like the first time we entered the Daytime Instance?"

"Hmm?"

Chen Fan was stunned for a moment, then scanned Savage Island again.

Come to think of it, this setup really did look like the group of savages they encountered in the first Daytime Instance.

"Brother, do you think there might be some connection between the daytime and nighttime dungeons?"

Chen Fan narrowed his eyes. "Did you notice something?"

Jiu Jiu shook her head, saying uncertainly,

"I just feel like the enemies we encounter in the dungeon don't really seem like NPCs; they seem more like real people."

Chen Fan nodded slightly.

It wasn't just Jiu Jiu; he thought so too.

Suddenly, a wave of fragrance wafted over.

Lairuilei's figure appeared, her fiery red hair flying.

Chen Fan cursed to himself; he hadn't farmed for supplies today, so why did this girl come out?

"You..."

Before he could finish speaking, a sharp pain in his waist made him grit his teeth.

"You're having quite a bit of fun, aren't you? You just broke a squealing Vase, and now you're flirting with an old flame. Do you think I don't exist?"

Lairuilei's cold voice came through the Crew Member channel.

Sighing with relief, Chen Fan discreetly patted the hand that was causing trouble at his waist.

Lairuilei was still sensible; she knew some things shouldn't be said out loud.

"Stop messing around, I'm increasing my strength. Didn't you see that I gained a Talent?"

"Hmph..."

Lairuilei snorted coldly, stepped forward, and stood side by side with the two of them.

Jiu Jiu also noticed Lairuilei and said softly, "Are we almost there?"

"Huh? Oh, almost there."

It turned out that Jiu Jiu thought they were almost at Savage Island, which was why she had summoned Lairuilei.

Oh well, it saved him from having to explain.

Chen Fan took Jiu Jiu's hand with one hand and discreetly hooked his finger with Lairuilei's other hand as they walked toward the deck.

This time, he didn't plan to land secretly.

Since the main warship had arrived, he had to steamroll over everything!

"Chris, push forward!"

"Yes, my master."

"Kadel, target the giant ape; kill it the moment it shows its head."

"Call me Short Lord, thank you."

Kadel stroked his beard and pulled the keen giant gun out of his crotch.

The roaring sound immediately put Savage Island on alert.

Hearing the commotion, the giant ape, having been toyed with a few times, charged out directly.

In a fit of rage, it smashed a hole through the newly built mud wall and charged straight to the shallows.

"Seeking death!"

Kadel sneered and raised his long gun.

Knowing his firing speed, Chen Fan immediately condensed the Explosion effect.

"Bang—"

The massive bullet, enveloped in orange light, pointed straight at the giant ape.

At this moment, it was still beating its chest and roaring on the shallows.

The next moment, the bullet pierced its chest and exploded inside its ribcage.

"Awoo—"

Blood splattered everywhere, and a ten-centimeter-diameter hole was blown into the giant ape's chest.

Faintly, its heart could be seen beating thump-thump at the opening.

"It's still not dead?"

Chen Fan was surprised.

Logically speaking, with such a violent Explosion in the chest, the heart should have been pulverized long ago.

This giant ape was actually still alive.

Not only was it alive, but after climbing up, it looked at the warship with blood-red eyes and turned to run.

Blood kept splattering from its chest.

Chen Fan snorted coldly:

"You're already here, and you want to run? Pudge!"

"Come here, you."

Pudge suddenly swung out the dragon hook, covering two hundred meters in an instant.

Hearing the commotion behind it, the giant ape looked back in terror.

The dragon hook rapidly enlarged in its eyes, then pierced into the hole in its chest.

"Awoooo—"

The giant ape struggled desperately in pain.

However, after the dragon hook pierced through its body, it seemed to merge with it; no matter how it struggled, it could not escape.

The chain gradually retracted, bringing the five-meter-tall giant ape flying back with it.

"Hold him down."

Chen Fan shouted in a low voice, and dozens of Sailors lunged onto the giant ape, bound him tightly with chains, and brought him back into the cabin.

"Awoo, wahoo—"

The horned savages, seeing their island guardian beast being captured, screamed and scattered in all directions.

"Ship Ballista, fire!"

Chen Fan didn't want to use the ship's cannons to kill them; after all, capturing one alive meant 100 more plasma energy core.

20 Ship Ballistae fired simultaneously, and the four-meter-long ballista bolts whistled through the air.

"Ding ding ding—"

Twenty unlucky guys were knocked to the ground by the impact of the ballista bolts.

Miraculously, they bared their teeth at Chen Fan, climbed back up, and continued to flee.

The savages' skin had actually blocked the Ship Ballista's attack, and none of them were injured.

Lairuilei snorted coldly, raised her bow, and fired.

"Zzzzt—"

The Powerful Strike instantly passed through the crowd, hitting the middle-aged savage who was running the fastest.

Just when Chen Fan thought he would be torn to pieces, the savage turned his head, expressionless.

In his pupils, there was nothing but disdain.

The next second, the Powerful Strike struck his back.

The immense wind pressure blew him flying backward.

On the skin that had made contact with the green light, only a shallow pit appeared.

The usually invincible Powerful Strike hadn't even pierced the skin this time!

"Why are the savages here so strange?"

Chen Fan frowned.

His original plan was that he didn't want to kill the savages prematurely.

But now it seemed he didn't have a choice; it appeared these attacks were completely ineffective against the savages.

Could it be that he really had to rely on the long saber?

Shaking his head, Chen Fan took out a long saber and kept weighing it in his hand.

He became increasingly curious about it.

"Let me try."

Pudge stepped forward two steps, swinging the dragon hook in his hand continuously.

Aiming slightly, he held his breath and swung the hook violently.

"Come here, you..."

The dragon hook flew rapidly, catching up to the savage at the very back in an instant.

"Ding—"

The savage stumbled from the impact and fell to the ground.

He turned his head, cursed, got back up, and continued running.

"Heh, interesting, interesting."

Chen Fan stroked his chin, laughing in spite of his anger.
