121: Chapter 121 The Actor's Self-Cultivation

Moonfall Base's brain short-circuited.

As the top scout for the Moon Gods Radiance Guild, he had experienced countless battles where life hung by a thread.

He had infiltrated the most dangerous Dragon's Lair and assassinated enemy commanders amidst tens of thousands of troops.

His resolve had long been tempered as hard as steel, and his nerves were tougher than the most delicate magic fiber.

But now, he felt his worldview, along with his prideful will, crumbling and shattering inch by inch.

A skill? What skill could make monsters voluntarily stop attacking and collectively kneel?

Mental control spells have range and quantity limitations, and they produce violent magical fluctuations.

That certainly wouldn't escape his eyes.

A racial talent? He was a noble of the Elf God Clan, born with 'Nature Affinity,' allowing him to soothe some low-tier beasts.

But that was merely 'soothing,' which was completely different from the scene before him—a spectacle akin to a deity descending and all living things paying homage!

"K-k-k..."

The skeletons continued to prostrate themselves on the ground, trembling from the fear deep within their souls.

Chen You ignored the Elves behind him who were already beginning to question their existence, continuing forward with his hands clasped behind his back.

He couldn't be bothered to act further.

These low-level mobs yielded pitiful experience and even more dismal drop rates; killing them was purely a waste of time.

Moreover, it would expose more of his abilities.

Since the normal mode of the Tomb of Thousand Lights had no mechanism forcing the clearing of mobs, he could just go straight to the final BOSS.

Thus, in the eyes of every Adventurer in Thousand Light City, the tomb passage—which was considered the 'Corridor of the Underworld'—witnessed the strangest scene in history.

A man wearing the moyuan star river robe walked in the front, strolling leisurely, his robes fluttering, while the trailing starlight particles behind him drew a brilliant galaxy in the dark passage.

Behind him, the four elite scouts of the Moon Gods Radiance followed closely like the most loyal guards, not daring to even breathe heavily.

And on both sides of the passage, dense Skeleton Soldiers, Earthbound Spirits, rotting Abominations...

All undead creatures, without exception, maintained a full prostration posture, shivering.

The scene was extremely comfortable.

From initial shock to numbness, Moonfall Base and the others now only felt endless bitterness in their hearts.

Is this... the gap?

While they were still congratulating themselves over a perfect dungeon run or precise skill chaining, this person was already enjoying the voluntary worship of the monsters.

How is this even playable?

The group proceeded in silence.

Soon, the group arrived at the main hall deep within the tomb.

In the center of the hall stood that same colossal figure, over five meters tall.

The Level 25 Elite Lord, the Skeleton General—Meng Hun!

The moment they saw the BOSS, Moonfall Base and the others instinctively gripped their weapons.

This was a Lord! A being possessing independent will and powerful obsession, impossible to be easily intimidated like those low-level mobs!

As expected, the moment Meng Hun saw Chen You, his massive body shook violently, and the soul fire in his eyes flickered, clearly enduring immense pressure.

But he was a Lord after all, and relying on his own obsession, he managed to forcibly resist that fear originating from the depths of his soul.

"Roar--!"

Meng Hun let out a roar, and a tragic aura burst forth!

"Be alert!"

Moonfall Base almost instinctively let out a low growl.

The Elf scouts behind him reacted instantly, quickly spreading out to form a standard combat diamond formation.

The archers drew their bows, and the assassins' daggers shimmered with poisonous green light.

Everyone's gaze was locked tightly onto Meng Hun, preparing for a fierce battle.

They had certainly fought this BOSS before.

It was extremely troublesome!

High health, high attack, plus an area-of-effect Fear Roar and a move called 'Soul Severing Slash' that could instantly kill squishy targets.

Even for their elite team with an average level of 28, perfect coordination, and all potions maxed out, it still took at least forty to fifty seconds, or even a full minute, to grind it down, all while constantly guarding against casualties.

Moonfall Base was just about to open his mouth to remind Chen You how to cooperate with the team, but he found Chen You had already moved.

There was no earth-shattering skill as imagined, nor was there an overwhelming tide of golden talismans.

Chen You simply held his right hand loosely, and an ancient-looking, unremarkable longsword appeared in his hand.

The ascension dao sword.

Moonfall Base's pupils constricted.

What did he intend to do?

Just as Moonfall Base was filled with doubt and apprehension, Chen You attacked.

No starting stance, no spiritual energy radiance.

He just charged forward with a simple lunge.

"Clang!!"

Meng Hun roared and swung down its great saber capable of splitting mountains and rocks, but Chen You lightly parried it aside.

The immense force caused the air to crackle with a sonic boom, yet Chen You's figure remained completely still.

Immediately after, under the stunned gaze of all the Elf God Clan members, Chen You began his 'attack'.

One sword strike.

And another sword strike.

Plain, ordinary slashes, simple blocks, occasionally a perfectly timed sidestep to evade Meng Hun's stormy onslaught.

No tactics.

Not even proper positioning.

He was straight-up standing still and outputting damage!

He just stood there, trading blows with the BOSS, one slash for one sword.

What... what was he doing? Was he scratching it?

The thought barely formed in Moonfall Base's mind before he saw the health bar above Meng Hun's head rapidly decreasing.

[-1889]!

[-1903]!

[-1895]!

...

A continuous stream of stable four-digit damage made Moonfall Base's eyeballs nearly pop out.

This was scratching?!

This damage... was even higher than the full burst damage from their team's main DPS!

Time ticked by second by second.

Five seconds...

Ten seconds...

Sixteen seconds later.

Accompanied by a howl of unwillingness, the massive Skeleton General Meng Hun crashed down, shattering into a pile of bone fragments.

Ding.

A pile of loot shimmering with green and white light burst out.

The entire main hall once again fell into a deathly silence.

The elites of the Moon Gods Radiance, every single one, stood frozen like wooden stakes.

Their expressions could no longer be described as shock; it was a blank bewilderment and stupor brought on by a worldview being overturned.

Sixteen seconds.

A Level 25 Elite BOSS, gone.

Moonfall Base felt his throat as dry as if he hadn't drunk water for three days.

He swallowed hard, his voice hoarse as he asked:

"Chen... Guild Leader Chen..."

He had intended to ask what skill that was?

Was it some forbidden technique that temporarily converted all attributes into attack power?

But when the words reached his lips, he just couldn't ask.

Chen You slowly turned around, looked at the group of Elves who looked as if they had been struck by lightning, and displayed a perfectly measured look of confusion on his face.

"Hm?"

But in his heart, he was complaining.

Damn it, the ascension dao sword really isn't good enough; it took over ten seconds to take down a normal dungeon BOSS. My arm is getting sore.

The jade brilliance is much better; one shot and it's done.

His actions were well-intentioned, merely to make it easier for them to accept.

Moonfall Base took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down, and with all his strength, managed to squeeze out a question:

"May I ask... what profound sword technique did you just use?"

Chen You pretended to be momentarily stunned upon hearing this.

He thought: What sword technique? It was just a basic attack!

But he wouldn't say that out loud.

He wanted them to guess!

He looked at Moonfall Base’s eager, knowledge-seeking expression, which even carried a hint of humility, and replied in a slightly displeased tone:

"I already told you."

"Feel it for yourselves. Don't ask."
