149: Chapter 149 You call her an old woman?
For the millions of Adventurers at the foot of the Wind and Snow Divine Mountain, every second felt incredibly long.
"I can't get up, I can't get up at all!"
A Dwarf Warrior looked at the nearly vertical, mirror-smooth ice wall before him and slammed his shield into the snow in despair.
"I've been queuing here for two hours, all for nothing!"
"Stop complaining. Look over there; the people from the 'Shaking Head Society' tried a human ladder tactic, but they slipped halfway up. They crushed a whole bunch of people below; the white respawn lights are filling the screen."
The Thief beside him lowered his voice, his face full of lingering fear.
Before them was a dense, endless sea of people.
Countless Adventurers of average strength had flocked from every corner of the Source Realm with only one goal—
To climb to the summit and land a hit on the world boss.
Even if they only dealt 1 point of damage, it could potentially grant them unexpected rewards.
Teleportation between the main cities of the Source Realm wasn't unlimited; at this moment, even more Adventurers dreaming of getting rich overnight were running to join this congested "human carpet."
However, the struggles of mortals were nothing more than a meaningless backdrop in the eyes of the truly powerful.
"Vwoom—"
A low rumble of energy echoed from the back of the crowd.
From the Titan Temple's camp, a massive War Platform, like a mobile fortress, slowly rose into the sky.
The platform was forged from obsidian and bronze, its surface inscribed with ancient Titan runes.
Eerie blue flames burned at its four corners, propelling it to ignore the steep mountain walls and fly straight toward the summit.
"It's the Titan Temple's Guild Vehicle!" an exclamation erupted from the crowd.
Immediately after, on the other side in the Moon Gods Radiance's camp, a massive vine rose from the ground.
Countless leaves radiating moonlight stretched and intertwined, forming a jade-green staircase leading to the sky.
The elves moved with light steps, treading on the glowing leaves as if strolling through the moonlight, advancing upward with elegance.
The Roman God Clan of the Floating Sanctuary was more direct, as portals made of Holy Light opened one after another in mid-air.
Their elite members stepped through and were already hundreds of meters high in the sky.
The Three Great Guilds, using completely different methods, effortlessly left the millions of ants at the foot of the mountain far behind.
...
The summit of the Wind and Snow Divine Mountain.
This was an unimaginably vast platform, the ground covered in eternal ice, with fierce winds swirling snow like knives.
In the center of the platform, the phantom of the Shadow Monarch that pierced through heaven and earth still stood.
His form was much more solid than before, head bowed, as if leisurely looking down at the farce unfolding below.
Tens of thousands of elite members from the Three Great Guilds had already gathered here.
They occupied three corners of the platform with clear boundaries, forming a stable triangular standoff.
The Titan Temple's side consisted mostly of heavy-armored warriors and Berserkers; they were tall and fierce, like a wall of steel.
On the Moon Gods Radiance's side, there were mostly elegant elf Magic Archers and mages, their longbows and staves flowing with magical radiance.
The members of the Shadow of Roman appeared mysterious and unpredictable, each shrouded in faint Holy Light and shadow, making it difficult to discern their true forms.
In the oppressive silence, a loud and mocking voice broke the stillness.
"Arrow of the Moon."
The one speaking was the guild master of the Titan Temple, Salos.
He took a step forward, his heavy armor making a dull clanking sound.
He was a size larger than the average Titan God Clan member, the circular protrusions on his forehead resembling two hideous horns, and his eyes were filled with blatant aggression.
"Old woman, we haven't seen each other for so long, why are you still wearing those same clothes?"
Salos grinned, revealing a row of stark white teeth, as his gaze swept unscrupulously across the Moon Gods Radiance's camp.
It finally settled on their guild master—Arrow of the Moon.
Arrow of the Moon, ranked second on the leaderboard, the leader of the Elf God Clan.
She sat in the center of the Elf God Clan, wearing a magnificent moon-white mage robe.
Her face was as exquisite as a work of art carved by divine hands, her pointed ears peeking out from her silver-white hair. Her aura was cold and aloof, and she appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old.
Upon hearing Salos's highly insulting words, the surrounding air instantly dropped to freezing point.
"Presumptuous! How dare you disrespect our guild master!"
Several high-ranking elves behind Arrow of the Moon instantly flew into a rage, their weapons glowing brightly.
However, Arrow of the Moon simply raised her hand slightly, stopping their impulsive actions.
Her expression didn't change at all, as if Salos wasn't talking about her.
But if one were close enough, they would see her clenched knuckles, which were several shades paler than the surrounding ice and snow.
Few people knew that as a member of the Elf God Clan, her true age was already a terrifying number.
Thanks to this special Fashion Outfit, she maintained this appearance of an eternally youthful young girl.
Salos obviously knew this; he wanted to tear away her perfect disguise in front of everyone.
"What? Not allowed to speak?" The smile on Salos's face grew more cruel.
"I remember decades ago, when I saw you, you were wearing this? So nostalgic?"
"Or is it that you elves are so poor you can't even afford a new Fashion Outfit?"
"Shut up!" Arrow of the Moon finally spoke.
Her voice was like the clashing of ten-thousand-year-old ice, devoid of emotion, yet containing a fury capable of freezing the soul.
"Salos, watch your tongue. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind using your head as a sacrifice before the Shadow Monarch descends."
"Hahaha!" Salos laughed loudly, as if he had heard the world's biggest joke.
"With just you? An old woman who doesn't even dare to show her true face?"
He suddenly stopped laughing, his eyes turning fierce.
"It's been too long since you've been beaten; have you forgotten who's on top and who's on the bottom?"
Arrow of the Moon's pupils suddenly constricted.
She slowly raised the longbow in her hand. On the bow's body, silver magic runes lit up one by one, and terrifying energy began to gather.
"Do you want to try?"
The atmosphere of the battlefield was on the verge of exploding.
Just then, a gentle and slightly magnetic voice came from the other side.
"You two, please calm down."
The guild master of the Shadow of Roman, Oro, slowly walked out.
He wore a simple white Priest Robe, and the two scaly stripes on his jaw were faintly visible under the Holy Light.
A warm smile hung on his face, as if he were merely mediating between two quarreling friends.
"Our enemy is that one." He raised his hand and pointed at the phantom of the Shadow Monarch in the sky.
"Wasting each other's strength before the main course begins is not a wise move."
Salos gave a cold snort and glanced at Oro, ultimately not making another move.
Arrow of the Moon also slowly lowered her longbow, her killing intent vanishing completely as she returned to her cold and aloof demeanor.
Oro looked at the two of them and smiled. "You're both so old, yet you're still acting like children."
