475: Chapter 475 The Perfect Teammate I'm Looking For

Chen You looked down at the parchment, which displayed a simple topographical map of the Ka Ice Cave.

"How do I get to the throne?" Chen You asked.

"You need a token." Hill pointed at a red dot on the map. "After entering the dungeon, do not go through the main entrance."

"Go around to the back of the ice waterfall on the left; there is a frozen hidden compartment there. Inside that compartment lies a... love letter left behind by the Ancestor of the Meng Clan back in the day."

The corner of Chen You's mouth twitched wildly again.

A love letter?!

Does this make any sense?

"And after I get the love letter?" Chen You suppressed the urge to retort.

"Read this love letter out loud in front of the second boss, the 'Frost Knight'." Hill said the most outrageous hidden strategy with the coldest expression.

"In his lifetime, the Frost Knight was a fanatical admirer of the wife of the Aurora City lord."

"Upon hearing the contents of the love letter, he will fall into a state of extreme rage and berserk."

"Berserk? Wouldn't that be suicide?" Chen You widened his eyes.

"In his berserk state, the Frost Knight's attack power increases by three hundred percent, but his defense drops to zero." Hill looked at Chen You.

"With your damage, as long as you one-shot him before he can attack, the overflowing berserk energy after he dies will blast open the entrance to the Frozen Throne."

Chen You stroked his chin, lost in thought.

This mechanic was practically tailor-made for a cheater like him who pursued extreme burst damage.

"Wait." Chen You tapped the table. "Did you just say the Frozen Throne?"

"Doesn't that name sound a bit too familiar? Does your Source Realm system like playing single-player games from Earth?"

Hill looked at him without responding.

"Is there going to be an Arthas sitting on the throne holding Frostmourne?" Chen You couldn't help but retort.

"And is there going to be some old guy running out yelling 'No king rules forever'?"

Hill looked puzzled. "Who is Arthas? Is he an outcast of some god race?"

"Just a filial son." Chen You waved his hand, speechless. "What's in the Frozen Throne, then?"

Hill crossed his hands on the table, his tone calm. "A crown—the Crown of Ice."

The corner of Chen You's eye twitched twice.

"And you say it has nothing to do with Arthas?!"

"The Source Realm does not have Arthas." Hill's tone was cold, interrupting Chen You's train of thought. "Please do not use the low-quality fantasy literature from your dimension to speculate about the true history of the Source Realm."

Chen You curled his lip.

"Then how do I get the crown?"

"You can't." Hill gave a negative answer. "The Crown of Ice is the materialized core of a curse."

"Any living being that touches it will have their sanity instantly devoured by the divinity contained within the crown, transforming them into the new Frozen King."

Chen You understood.

"In other words, this is the final boss?"

Hill nodded.

"The final stage of the hidden mechanism is to kill this newly born Frozen King. After the crown shatters, it will drop the item that triggers the hidden quest."

Hill looked into Chen You's eyes. "The problem is, someone must voluntarily put on that crown and complete the transformation ritual for this hidden boss to appear."

Chen You stroked his chin.

In other words, he couldn't solo this hidden mode; he had to find a sucker for a teammate.

"Understood." Chen You stood up. "Is that hidden drop unique?"

"Yes." There was no fluctuation on Hill's iceberg-like face. "Once an Adventurer obtains it, it will be permanently removed from the drop list."

Chen You nodded and turned to leave the Supreme Tower.

The entrance to the Ka Ice Cave dungeon.

Several hundred players were still gathered here.

Chen You stood on the edge without drawing attention, his gaze sweeping over the noisy crowd.

He didn't need anyone with high combat power, nor did he need anyone with good equipment.

He only needed one trait: Smartypants.

Soon, someone noticed him.

"Holy sh*t! Who is that?!"

"Godfather! It's Godfather!"

The crowd instantly boiled over.

"Godfather! Carry me! I'm super slick!"

"God You, add me to the party! My healing output is amazing!"

"Big Boss, I'll spend all my savings just for a spot in your party!"

The players swarmed over.

Chen You remained expressionless, scanning the crowd.

He didn't need high combat power.

He needed a fool who would put on that deadly crown without hesitation.

As his gaze swept over several guild elites with shrewd expressions, Chen You shook his head inwardly.

These people were too smart; they would definitely hesitate upon seeing the crown, or even suspect a trap.

Suddenly, his gaze stopped in a corner.

It was a Berserker wearing tattered plate armor.

The ID was "Dragon Proud Heaven Himself".

He was pointing at a few solo players who couldn't find a group, loudly lecturing them.

"Do you guys know what real skill is? This 'Berserk into Jump Slash' combo of mine is a combo I realized on my own! As long as you guys group the monsters up, one slash from me will clear the screen!"

A priest nearby spoke up weakly. "But you couldn't even beat the Ice Plain Wolves at the entrance just now..."

"That was a mistake!" Dragon Proud Heaven Himself stiffened his neck. "That wolf didn't play by the rules; it ambushed my lower body!"

"Besides, this is a late-game class; I'm just lying in wait for now!"

Chen You walked over.

The crowd automatically cleared a path.

Dragon Proud Heaven Himself was spitting everywhere while talking. Seeing Chen You approach, he froze for a moment, then puffed out his chest. "What is it, God You, have you taken a liking to my potential? Let me tell you, my appearance fee isn't low."

Chen You looked at him.

Poor equipment, extremely confident, missing a brain stem.

Perfect.

"You're the one." Chen You said. "Join the party."

The whole place fell into dead silence.

The elite players who had just been begging and pleading widened their eyes, full of disbelief.

"Big Boss, are you serious?" That priest couldn't help but ask. "He couldn't even beat the Ice Plain Wolves!"

"I need a unique talent." Chen You kept a straight face and sent a party invitation directly to Dragon Proud Heaven Himself.

Dragon Proud Heaven Himself scanned the crowd triumphantly and pressed accept heavily.

"I guess you know talent when you see it. Tell me, how do you want me to cooperate? I'll state this first: I don't do dirty work or heavy lifting; I'm only responsible for the final cleanup."

"Good." Chen You nodded.

Under the shocked gazes of the crowd, the two of them stepped into the portal of the Ka Ice Cave.

Their vision shifted.

Bone-chilling wind mixed with ice crystals hit their faces.

Before them was a massive ice and snow cavern, with sharp icicles hanging from the ceiling.

Not far ahead, several massive Frost Ghouls were wandering aimlessly.

Dragon Proud Heaven Himself pulled out the rusty greatsword from his back and struck a pose he thought was cool.

"Leave it to me." He sneered. "Watch me take them out with one combo."

Chen You pressed down on his shoulder.

"No need to fight." Chen You pointed to a hidden crack in the ice on the left. "We're going this way."

Dragon Proud Heaven Himself frowned. "Avoiding battle? That's not the style of a strong person. Are you scared?"

Chen You couldn't be bothered to explain and simply stepped toward the crack.

Dragon Proud Heaven Himself hurriedly followed. "That's right, conserving strength to deal with the boss is the way to go."

"As expected of a Big Boss, your tactical thinking can barely keep up with mine."
