447: Chapter 447 Heading West

Chen You paused for a moment. "Black Wind Mountain Range? That boss wouldn't happen to be a black bear, would it?"

"How did you know?" Hill looked a bit surprised. "That is a level 50 Shadow Bear King. It has thick skin and is extremely difficult to deal with."

Chen You sighed.

The déjà vu was too strong; he even suspected that the Source Realm had secretly connected to China's internet.

He leaned in close to Hill's face to confirm. "After killing the boss, I go straight to level 50?"

"No tricks, no middlemen?"

Hill nodded earnestly. "I can confirm this point; there is absolutely no problem!"

"Fine, a black bear spirit it is."

Chen You waved his hand and turned to walk out.

"Take care, Boss." Hill felt relieved and hurriedly waved him off, fearing that he might take out his hammer to pound something again.

Walking out of the Supreme Tower, a light rain was falling from the sky of the Source Realm.

"Let's go, time to meet that black bear spirit."

Chen You did not choose the Nine Nether Heaven-Devouring Kun, but instead flew off on his sword after leaving the city.

In terms of pure flight speed, he felt that flying on his sword was faster.

Ten thousand meters in the air, the wind howled.

Chen You stepped on the yuhuang sword, looking at the dark golden cyber merit wooden fish in his hand.

A blue arrow, like a holographic projection, lit up on the surface of the wooden fish, pointing directly west.

"Black Wind Mountain Range." Chen You muttered the name.

Would a black bear spirit from the Black Wind Cave really pop out later to steal a kasaya?

He didn't even have a kasaya, so would it steal his outfit, the moyuan star river robe?

However, thoughts aside, Chen You did some mental math.

Eighty-one lord-grade bosses—the number sounded intimidating.

But the reward was a direct mythological-grade "Level Up Pill," which could boost him straight to level 50.

This was far more efficient than pounding the wooden fish hundreds of millions of times in the lobby of the Supreme Tower, or grinding monsters.

Even with a 10x experience scroll, it would still take at least another day or more of grinding to level up.

Compared to that, this business trip wasn't so boring.

Before long, a continuous black mountain range appeared on the horizon ahead.

The sky above the mountain range was shrouded in thick black miasma, with withered trees and jagged rocks.

Chen You lowered his altitude and hovered in mid-air.

He took out the wooden fish and struck it once.

"Clack."

The wooden fish made a crisp sound, and the blue arrow on its surface suddenly flashed rapidly, pointing toward a narrow canyon below.

Chen You put away his flying sword and descended into the canyon.

The canyon was dimly lit, and the ground was covered in ghastly white bones.

Chen You stepped on the bone shards, creating a teeth-gritting crunching sound.

"Clack, clack." The wooden fish sounded twice more, and the arrow suddenly made a ninety-degree turn, pointing toward a cliff on the right.

Chen You stopped and stared at the wooden fish. "Which map provider are you using for this GPS? This is a dead end, dammit."

He walked to the cliff and reached out to knock on the rock wall.

The texture was hard; it was solid obsidian.

The arrow on the wooden fish stubbornly pointed inside the stone.

Chen You sighed, took two steps back, and gripped the hilt of his yuhuang sword with his right hand.

"Heaven-Breaking Sword Technique" — Startling Swan.

A brilliant flash of sword light tore through the dim canyon and struck the obsidian cliff heavily.

With a loud boom.

Debris flew, and the cliff was forcibly split open, creating a crack five meters wide.

Deep within the crack, a spacious underground cave was revealed.

In the center of the cave stood a throne of white bones.

A giant bear over five meters tall, covered in black fur like steel needles, was sitting on it, holding half a bloody thigh bone in its hand.

Floating above its head was a blood-red name: [Shadow Bear King (Level 50 Lord)].

The giant bear was startled by the sword energy and stood up abruptly, throwing away the bone in its hand and opening its blood-stained maw to let out a deafening roar.

"Where did this human cultivator come from, daring to destroy my cave dwelling! I am the Lord of Black Wind Mountain, and I have once devoured..."

Before the Black Wind Demon King could finish, Chen You had already impatiently raised his left hand.

Purple light exploded in the void.

"Divine Firmament Heavenly Thunder Orthodox Method."

A pillar of purple lightning as thick as a water bucket pierced directly through the cave ceiling, striking the top of the Black Wind Demon King's head with overwhelming force.

The lightning illuminated the entire underground space.

There was no resistance, no struggle.

After the lightning dissipated, only a charred humanoid mark remained in front of the throne, and the air was filled with a pungent smell of roasted meat.

[Killed Black Wind Demon King, Quest Progress: 1/81]

Chen You walked up and kicked the ashes on the ground.

The drops were only two pieces of trash blue equipment and a few silver coins.

"Poor wretch."

Chen You pursed his lips and checked the time.

"Five hours" to find the monster, two seconds to kill it.

"So the difficulty of this quest lies in finding the monsters." Chen You concluded.

He struck the wooden fish again.

"Clack."

[Next Target: Yellow Wind Ridge, distance 1,200 kilometers.]

Chen You turned and walked out of the cave, then flew back into the sky on his sword.

For the next twenty-four hours, Chen You fully experienced what it meant to be the "King of Running Errands in the West."

The Yellow-Haired Marten Demon of Yellow Wind Ridge had just poked its head out of the sand before Chen You sliced it off with one sword strike.

The Skeleton Spirit Lord of White Bone Cave was standing on an altar, summoning an army of tens of thousands of undead, preparing to teach this ignorant human a lesson.

Chen You found hacking at bones to be hard on his sword, so he pulled a hundred Exorcism Talismans from his backpack and threw them down like scattering flyers.

A golden torrent of purification instantly engulfed the entire White Bone Cave, leaving not even ashes behind.

With Chen You's current stats, combined with his god-tier techniques and "money power" equipment, dealing with these level-50-average lords was completely a dimensionality reduction strike.

But the wooden fish's navigation was truly agonizing.

This broken thing not only frequently recalculated routes but also loved leading him into dead ends.

The most ridiculous instance was when he was looking for the Earth Cave Spider King.

The wooden fish prompted, "Arrived near the destination, navigation ended."

Chen You stood on a barren plain, blowing in the cold wind for half an hour without seeing even a single spider web.

Finally, he got impatient and spent money to buy a "High-Grade Geological Detection Scroll," only to discover that the Spider King was hiding 500 meters underground.

To avoid going out of his way to find an entrance, Chen You drew his sword and bombarded the ground, forcefully carving out a vertical pit, then jumped down and hacked the Spider King to death.

The sky in the east had begun to brighten.

Chen You opened his quest panel.

[Quest Name: Western Demon Cleansing]

[Current Progress: 35/81]

In one night, he had only farmed thirty-five lord-grade bosses.

If this efficiency were revealed, it would be enough to make top guilds like the Titan Temple and Moon Gods Radiance drop their jaws.

They would organize teams of hundreds to pioneer a lord, and just running the map and clearing mobs would take days and nights, not to mention the extremely high mortality rate of the boss fight.

But Chen You only felt physically and mentally exhausted.

"Whether this Western Region is chaotic or not, it all depends on what I say." Chen You mocked himself, brushed the sand off his body, and stood up.

He picked up the cyber merit wooden fish and continued his journey.
