305: Chapter 305 You call this a supreme combat technique?
Chen You looked at the furious, dark-skinned female City Lord before him, a series of question marks floating above his head.
Combat technique? Four-step layup?
What on earth is all this?
Where did the Source Realm stitch together such an absurd NPC from?
"City Lord Sander."
"Call me James Sander."
Chen You took a deep breath, trying to pull the conversation back onto a normal track.
"Let's not talk about the value of it for a moment."
"This thing, according to the rules, taking more than two steps without dribbling the ball is a travel."
"Four steps? That's called running with the ball!"
Sander's gaze became extremely dangerous.
She suddenly took a step forward, her two-meter-tall frame bringing an intense sense of pressure.
"Outlander, you are desecrating my ancestor!" Sander growled, her voice vibrating the surrounding stone walls.
"This is a secret technique my ancestor realized under the starry sky! Once the four steps are unleashed, they ignore the laws of space and take the enemy general's head directly!"
"You dare use your shallow understanding to define this great combat technique?"
Chen You was speechless.
You call taking an extra step 'ignoring the laws of space'?
Four steps is a travel; in reality, a referee's whistle would be smoking from blowing it so much.
Ding.
A system notification sounded in Chen You's ear.

[Quest Hint: Defeat her in the way she is most proud of, or be smashed into meat paste by her.]
Looking at the translucent panel in the upper right corner of his vision, Chen You sighed.
Talking nicely wasn't going to work; this game ultimately relied on fists, or rather, basketball.
"Fine." Chen You loosened his wrists. "Since you're so confident in this 'combat technique,' we'll play by your rules."
"Does scoring a basket count as winning, or does a fight count as winning?"
Sander leaped back and beckoned with one hand; the dark red basketball lying on the ground instantly flew back into her palm.
A piercing red glow lit up on the surface of the basketball, and violent spiritual energy swirled around the sphere, emitting a low hum.
"In my hands, the basketball is a weapon!" Sander held the ball with both hands and lowered her center of gravity.
"Take this strike of mine, and I will acknowledge your eligibility to speak with me!"
Before her voice had even faded, Sander moved.
Bang!
As she took her first step, the bluestone slab beneath her feet shattered instantly, sending stone fragments flying.
Bang!
With the second step, her speed exploded. Her massive body kicked up a gale, instantly closing the distance between her and Chen You.
Chen You stood his ground without moving.
Facing Sander's Charge, he didn't even bother to draw his sword.
To deal with this kind of 'player,' one had to use professional defensive methods.
Bang! Bang!
Third step, fourth step.
Sander took flight two meters away from Chen You.
She held the basketball, filled with violent power, high above her head with both hands, her body stretching into a full-moon-shaped bow in mid-air.
"Combat Technique: Overhead Slam Dunk!"
Sander roared, smashing down toward Chen You's head with the force of Mount Tai pressing down.
The airflow was torn apart, letting out a piercing shriek.
Chen You looked up.
The movement was too slow, full of openings.
He slightly bent his knees, and the spiritual energy within his body instantly flooded into his legs.
Boom!
The ground beneath Chen You's feet collapsed with a roar, and he shot up like a cannonball.
Starting later but arriving first, he instantly exceeded Sander's jump height.
Under Sander's shocked gaze, Chen You reached out his right hand, fingers spread wide, and accurately pressed down on the dark red basketball as it descended.
Two forces, one large and one small, collided violently in mid-air.
Sander's eyes widened.
The monstrous strength she took pride in had encountered an insurmountable barrier before this seemingly frail body.
"Jump height is insufficient."
Chen You's voice rang in Sander's ear, calm and devoid of any emotion.
"The intention to shoot was too obvious."
The muscles in Chen You's right arm suddenly tightened.
"Most importantly, you traveled."
Slap!
A deafening explosion sounded.
The red glow on the basketball instantly dissipated, and the entire ball was swatted away by Chen You's palm.
The dark red sphere turned into an afterimage, smashing hard into the black rock wall at the far end of the courtyard, embedding itself deeply as a large web of cracks spread around it.
Sander lost her balance and fell from mid-air, crashing heavily onto the ground and creating a large crater.
Chen You landed steadily and brushed the dust off his hands.
The courtyard was deathly silent.
Several guards on the perimeter of the courtyard had been quietly watching.
Now, they all stood with their mouths agape, nearly unable to hold their weapons steady.
Their invincible City Lord had actually been blocked head-on!
Sander crawled out of the crater, her face filled with disbelief.
She turned to look at the basketball embedded in the wall, then back at Chen You, who stood there as calm as a breeze.
"Impossible... this is impossible!"
Sander gritted her teeth, suddenly rushed to the wall, and gouged the basketball out with one hand.
"Again! Combat Technique: Back-down Post-up!"
She dribbled back in front of Chen You, turned her back to him, and slammed into him with her broad shoulders and back.
Chen You's feet were rooted to the ground as he circulated his spiritual energy.
Bang!
Sander slammed into Chen You, feeling as if she had hit an immovable iron tower.
Chen You didn't budge an inch, not even wobbling once.
After three consecutive failed attempts, Sander roared, forced a turn, and leaned her body far back, preparing to shoot.
"Combat Technique: Fadeaway—"
Chen You didn't even jump; he simply took half a step forward.
His palm shot out like lightning, and just as the ball was about to leave her hand, he accurately swiped the side of the sphere.
Pop.
The basketball slipped from her hand and rolled to the side.
"It's over." Chen You withdrew his hand, his tone still flat.
Sander's movements froze in mid-air.
She stared blankly at the basketball rolling away, her hands still maintaining the shooting posture.
Her two-meter-tall, robust frame began to tremble slightly.
Chen You looked at her, thinking she was about to unleash a finishing move, and carefully prepared to respond.
Instead, Sander's eyes turned red.
Large tears rolled down her dark brown cheeks.
Her broad, shovel-like jaw quivered violently.
"Waaaah—"
Sander plopped onto the ground, her legs kicking wildly as she wailed loudly like a three-year-old who had their toy stolen.
"I practiced this move for two and a half years! Two and a half whole years!"
Sander wailed as she wiped away her tears.
"I woke up every day before dawn to practice dribbling, and I even slept holding the ball at night!"
"I thought I had mastered the essence of the ancestor's combat techniques, but I can't even beat an outlander like you!"
"I've failed my ancestor! I'm a piece of trash! Waaaaah..."
Chen You was completely bewildered.
Looking at the muscular woman throwing a tantrum on the ground, he felt his scalp go numb.
This contrast was a bit too much!
Just moments ago, she was talking about ignoring the laws of space, and now she's broken down crying in the street?
Chen You rubbed his brow and walked over to Sander.
"Alright, stop crying," Chen You said.
Sander cried even louder: "Who are you to tell me what to do! You shattered my pride, and you won't even let me cry!"
"No, I passed the trial. Shouldn't we talk about business now?"
"Not in the mood!"
"..."
What the hell is this?
