180: Chapter 180 We finally met.
Mia and Tuaner spent two peaceful years in the 11th Division.
During this time, Sister Loran visited once and even performed a "Natural Blessing" on the persimmon tree in the courtyard.
Now the sapling has grown into a large tree, and this year, we should be able to see the golden, ripe persimmons...
Quiet times are always disrupted by inadvertent little things.
Mia received two invitation letters, one official and one private, sent by the leader of the noble houses in the Seireitei, the Kuchiki Family, signed by Byakuya Kuchiki.
First, the private one; this one is a bit of a headache.
Because Yoruichi and Byakuya have a very close relationship, Urahara was entrusted to treat Byakuya's wife, who is also Rukia's biological sister, Hisana Kuchiki.
Urahara used the Mia-series potion he had just replicated, and well, he botched the treatment.
Yoruichi had no choice but to contact Mia, who is now the lieutenant of the 4th Division, to help clean up the mess. She claimed she owed Mia another favor, operating on the principle that one doesn't mind one more debt when they already have so many.
Mia struggled to search her little brain for memories regarding the original Hisana.
The specific illness of Hisana Kuchiki was never explicitly stated in the original story; it was only known that she was naturally frail and sickly.
She always regretted abandoning her sister Rukia, and after marriage, despite her frail body, she insisted on searching for her sister (though in Mia's view, how could a normal person find the 11th Division barracks?).
Eventually, she fell ill from overexertion and passed away in the early spring of the fifth year after marrying Byakuya.
Regarding their circumstances, after Hisana and Rukia died in the human world, they were sent to "Kusajishi," the 78th District of the South Rukongai in the Soul Society.
This is one of the places with the worst security in the entire Soul Society, with harsh living conditions, which Mia and her group know well because they lived there.
Hisana could not support herself while taking care of her young sister alone, which is why she ultimately abandoned Rukia.
Later, Hisana met Byakuya Kuchiki and married into the Kuchiki Family, living in the Seireitei. Although her living conditions improved, she was always concerned about her sister and frequently went to the Rukongai to search for her, exhausting a great deal of energy.
Therefore, the medicine she needs is actually in her own home, currently holding her two "big sweet melons" and playing happily amidst the envious gazes of Tuaner and Renji.
The other official invitation was also about Hisana Kuchiki; Mia didn't dwell too much on why the timing of her marriage to Byakuya had been moved forward.
The letter was sent by Chōjirō Sasakibe, the lieutenant of the 1st Division.
Though he is a lieutenant, his status and position are far higher than many actual captains.
He likely issued this unofficial official document at the urging of Byakuya Kuchiki (as Byakuya's personality right now is not as cold as it is when the main story begins).
Using the name of the 1st Division lieutenant and the prestige of the Kuchiki Family, they invited Captain Retsu Unohana, along with her two lieutenants, to help provide medical treatment for the daughter-in-law of the Kuchiki Family...
Mia lifted little Rukia high above her head. There was not a hint of fear in the little girl's eyes; they were shining with joy.
In all fairness, in the eyes of Ikkaku and Yumichika, Mia is one of the few kind women in the Soul Society. She takes such good care of the children she picked up.
"Rukia, are you willing to go save someone you were once very, very close to?" Mia's question was a bit beyond her level.
"Jiejie, Rukia will go with Jiejie!" The child spoke without inhibition, and then Rukia started giggling.
Mia's face, however, fell. She had been raising these two little ones for almost three years now. Emotionally, she couldn't accept Rukia going to live with the Kuchiki Family.
This was likely the big pit that the "Paradise Lost" system had dug for her. Because the system had already prompted that the next task was to extend the life of Hisana Kuchiki, with rewards and punishments based on the duration.
Unable to sleep all night, Mia sat dully on the veranda for the whole night...
Early the next morning, Mia got herself ready, dressed Rukia up beautifully, called for Xiaoya, picked up Rukia and placed her into her homemade little wicker basket, and prepared to go to the 4th Division to meet up with the captain.
As soon as they stepped out of the 11th Division gate, the first ones waiting for them were the "two-man bodyguard team," Ikkaku and Yumichika, who looked unreliable but were actually very reassuring.
And... a handsome young man wearing a captain's haori—Byakuya Kuchiki!!
Seeing Mia heading out with bags and packages, and even carrying a wicker basket, his eyes first showed amazement, then confusion, and finally, when he saw Rukia's little head poke out of the basket lid, surprise and a hint of gloom.
"I've probably been mistaken for someone waiting to sell herself!" Mia brushed her forehead, not wanting to explain a single thing.
Byakuya Kuchiki then saw the two strange-looking zanpakuto tied at Mia's waist, and a bit more contempt appeared in his eyes.
"Do you really need so much eye acting?!!" Mia started to crazily complain internally about this young, poker-faced man.
"I have come to escort you to the Kuchiki Family residence." Byakuya's manners were not lacking in the slightest.
"Please lead the way. We will follow. I have never been to the Kuchiki Family residence, so please trouble yourself to guide us." Mia's words made Ikkaku and Yumichika feel a bit strange, because in these past few years, she had never shown such hostility and resistance toward an outsider as she did today.
Yumichika gave Ikkaku a wink. Ikkaku whispered a few words to Yachiru, who was playing with a small rubber ball at the 11th Division gate, and then quickly followed the group.
Byakuya Kuchiki's appearance is impeccable; he is the type that Tuaner used to like.
He wears the "Kenseikan," a hair accessory only high nobles have the right to wear, and a valuable "Ginpakukazahana no Uzuginu" scarf around his neck. He is accustomed to wearing white fingerless gloves when dressed in his shihakusho.
Extremely handsome, he has fair skin and deep, charming light purple eyes. He wears his medium-length black hair in many spiked bundles, making it look very elegant.
Since they were all Shinigami, and because it was an urgent matter of treating an illness, and Mia didn't care much for noble etiquette, there was no need to pay attention to walking etiquette.
Traversing rooftops and crossing walls, the group quickly arrived at the Kuchiki Family residence.
At the gate of the Kuchiki Family residence, Mia met up with Captain Unohana and Isane Kotetsu.
Captain Unohana covered her mouth and chuckled at Mia when she saw that Mia had an even larger entourage than she did.
Little Rukia seemed to have a special fondness for this gentle and steady sister with the braided hair, and in a milky voice, she wanted Captain Unohana to hold her.
Mia tapped Rukia's head lightly and handed her to Ikkaku. She then kept poking her head out of the little wicker basket, using the small hand drum Mia had made for her to tap on Ikkaku's head, leaving Ikkaku with a look that wanted to kill, yet he was helpless.
The illness was actually quite simple: a poor constitution combined with illness caused by worry. Captain Unohana wrote out a prescription, thought about it, tore it up, and then turned to look at Mia.
"Fine, this job falls on me again." Mia wore an expression of being exploited by a capitalist and reluctantly began to treat Hisana Kuchiki.
Pink Qi gathered in her palm, which she pressed onto Hisana's head, causing her to quickly fall into a deep sleep.
"You!" Byakuya Kuchiki twitched on the mat, nearly standing up to draw his sword and slash at Mia, but he was held down by Chōjirō Sasakibe, who had come to observe.
"What I am about to say next is not suitable for Mrs. Kuchiki to hear..." Mia ignored Byakuya's reaction and proceeded to take out crystal bottles containing red and purple potions from her bosom.
"The captain has already written the prescription. Illness from worry, life force exhausted. At most, it will extend her life by 5 years. I am a pharmacist; my medical skills are not higher than the captain's." Mia's opening statement made sense to everyone, except for Unohana herself, who didn't quite agree.
"I appeared in the Rukongai four years ago and picked up two nursing babies, a boy and a girl." This sentence left everyone present confused.
"From now on, I will have Xiaoya bring Rukia here every day to keep Mrs. Kuchiki company for a while."
"It can extend her life by 50 years. Because Rukia is the biological sister that Hisana Kuchiki has been searching for so desperately, the one she abandoned." This sentence stunned everyone.
"I do not need the gratitude of nobles. I have only one request: Rukia is the sister I raised. When she gets older, she can decide whether to stay or go. If anyone wants to snatch her from my hands..." Mia was halfway through her sentence when the wooden door behind her was pulled open by a tall figure.
The sound of bells arrived with that figure, "They'll have to ask my sword!!"
Kenpachi Zaraki's body blocked the light from outside, looking somewhat imposing.
"Men, they really are animals that love to show off..." Mia's pink eyeshadow was revealed again, filled with laughter at the corners of her eyes.
"Alright, Kenpachi finished what I was saying. Now, who approves? Who opposes?" As her voice fell, dangerous light began to flicker in Mia's eyes...
