63: Chapter 63 The Harvest from "Shopping"
Mia instantly became Tuaner's doll, obediently letting her swap outfits... After a burst of laughter, the two walked out of Paradise Lost's personal private space.
Ryan had been waiting in the plaza for a long time. Although Tuaner had emphasized many times that neither of them was interested in boys, looking at beautiful girls was always allowed, right?
Feeling bored, he was polishing the [Guardian of Silvermoon City] until it shone. Looking up, he saw two beautiful girls in JK uniforms standing before him. Tuaner playfully waved her small hand in front of his eyes. "Hey! Snap out of it! Do Mia and I look good in our matching outfits? We're sisters you can't afford to reach for, Little~ Prince!!"
Mia wore an exquisite JK uniform. Her top was a white shirt with a dark blue tie that rested neatly against her enviable chest, looking both fresh and playful yet sexy and charming. Below, she wore a plaid pleated skirt. Her perfect waist-to-hip ratio made Ryan's heart sway like the hem of her skirt with every step she took, radiating a pure aura.
She wore flesh-colored stockings on her legs, their delicate texture giving off a soft glow, as if they were Mia's second skin, providing warmth while adding a touch of feminine softness.
On her feet were a pair of small black leather shoes. The surfaces were smooth, and the buckles were fastened at the ankles, making them both fashionable and cute.
Mia's long hair draped over her shoulders, the ends slightly curled and swaying gently as she moved. Combined with her mysterious heterochromia, she possessed a sort of eerie beauty.
Tuaner was also wearing a JK uniform, but her style was more mature and sexy. Tuaner's top was a black slim-fit shirt with the collar slightly open, revealing her delicate collarbones. Her bottom was a black pleated skirt, the hem shorter to show off her long, snowy-white legs. She wore black over-the-knee stockings with a slightly thick texture that gave off a high-end matte effect. The slouch socks over her ankles made her leg lines more three-dimensional, giving her a fashionable and avant-garde look.
She also wore a pair of small black leather shoes that blended perfectly with the slouch socks, appearing lively without losing feminine Charm.
Her makeup was exquisite, her lips a deep red, and her eyes held a hint of cold elegance, giving her an overall vibe of being sexy yet not easily approached.
"So, the reason you're wearing casual clothes is just because you don't want to get ripped off when buying equipment?" Ryan said, finally catching on.
"Bingo! But no prize!" Tuaner gave Ryan an affirmative answer.
"Actually, it's also so we aren't naked when we return to the Real World. You don't have to worry about that," Mia said to Ryan after a moment's thought.
"But, if you dress like that, won't you be targeted by evil classes of evil races? We're going back to the Real World, after all," Ryan complained slightly. He was thinking that for the sake of the team, if any evil guys targeted them, he could only protect Mia, since he only had one shield. Having said that, he thoughtfully handed them two concealing hoods...
"Evil classes of evil races? Look at yourself, then look at us. Which one of us isn't? Are you not? Am I not? A Succubus, a Vampire, and a Werewolf—in any movie, the three of us would definitely be the evil races of the evil forces. With just a little more effort, we'd be X-rated. Oh~~ so you, the Paladin, are saying we two are evil witches, huh?" Tuaner raised her frequently seen, pink and pretty little fist, looking for a good place to strike.
Ryan ran ahead while covering his eye, apologizing as he went. The clanking friction of his armor was a comedy in itself. "Spare me!"
To prove she was right, Tuaner first had the fully-armed Ryan go to the stalls in the Trading Market to negotiate for a long-range weapon, a [Recurve Bow] (C-rank Green quality). Finally, they reached a price of 6,000 points.
Then she had Mia take off her hood and activate all her Charm skills, using the swaying gait Tuaner had just taught her to walk toward the stall owner to negotiate. The final price was 1,500 points. After buying it, they settled the bill and left...
After a round of shopping, Mia's face was flushed with embarrassment, while Ryan was completely speechless. By using Tuaner's method, they had saved at least 60% of the costs, which was equivalent to being able to equip three extra people. Although they were exploiting a loophole where Mia's skill wouldn't be judged as an illegal attack on an Adventurer by Paradise Lost.
Earlier, the three had discussed Tuaner's role in the team. Because it had slightly overlapped with Mia's before, and it was Tuaner's first adventure, they hadn't thought about it in much detail. After discussion, they decided to build Tuaner into the team's long and mid-range support role, following a high Agility, Stamina, and Intelligence path, while limiting points in the Strength attribute.
Focusing mainly on traps, ranged weapon mastery, and the release of debuff effects on enemies.
To put it bluntly, their current team was essentially a melee-focused hack-and-slash group. But as luck would have it, all of them had healing skills, and Mia could even restore mana and health during combat. Therefore, healing support was no longer a priority for this small team.
However, none of them were the rare pure mage classes (the death rate is too high, and they are too fragile), so the most profitable path was trap mastery for Rogues and Assassins, along with various elemental damage arrows, which were more cost-effective.
They equipped Tuaner with a mix of blue and green quality gear for ranged archers, Rogues, and Assassins. She also learned [Amplify Damage], [Weaken], and the Fear Spell. Stopping and starting, they reached the penultimate stop of their trip: the "Come Back Next Time" bar.
Tuaner kicked open the bar's saloon doors, completely disregarding whether she might expose herself. She then spotted the Demolitions Expert—Mr. Firing Pin—who was dozing off at the bar.
Turning to Ryan, she said, "Watch this—" Immediately after, she took a running jump and pounced onto Firing Pin like a cheerful little bird, then bounced off onto the floor and started rolling around. "Ouch! You're crushing me to death! You heartless man, abandoning me like this..."
Firing Pin jolted awake, instantly sobered from yesterday's alcohol. He cursed inwardly, wondering why this little ancestor was back again. Looking further, he saw the lethally charming Mia smiling apologetically at him. Huh? Why was that bastard Ryan behind her?
"Normally, when Miss Tuaner comes to buy things, she gets a 50% discount." Firing Pin's scruffy mouth was suddenly covered by Tuaner's small hand—yeah, she was definitely trying to smother him. Once his face turned purple, Tuaner let go and said with a grin, "I guess there's no need to say 'but' anymore, right?"
"But because you know me, the discount might be canceled..." Ryan added helplessly from behind.
"Huh?" Tuaner looked back at Ryan, wondering if these two men had some unspeakable history. "Alright then, I'll help you take him out. Can you give us a few more freebies? If not, it'll have to be free for life. This is our teammate, our 'dearest friend,' you understand, right?" After saying that, Tuaner pulled out the [Poisoned Blade] she had just bought, preparing to demonstrate how to torture Ryan.
