5: Chapter 5 Pollution Level
Starlight gathered, and the story of Goblin Slayer plunged into darkness.
In a place unseen by Mia, perhaps the story would still continue...
When Mia felt the light again, she found herself in a single room. Unlike Luo Yu's previous room, the style was very plain; the snow-white walls had a hint of a technological feel, along with a thick, rectangular safe that opened from the top, a single bed that looked sturdy and durable, and a mirror—that was all.
The ceiling of the room had a dome that looked like religious stained glass, hinting at her combat class. (In other words, could the Life Support System room also have been converted from a restroom when smuggling into Paradise Lost?)
Looking back at her reflection in the mirror, Mia's pure white priestess outfit was illuminated by the glow of the stained glass, making it appear nearly transparent.
It was not a holy snow-white, but a nearly blasphemous porcelain white, as if clean tridacna shells had been crushed into powder and painted onto the clothes bit by bit—so clean it made one shudder.
Because the clothes didn't quite fit, the ribbons on the red shoulder guards rested across her chest like beacons guiding the gaze. The cinched waist design accentuated a slender yet ample silhouette, and the pair of manga-like legs wrapped in stockings exposed by the hem of the robe were mesmerizing.
The silver cross at the neckline dangled against the hollow of her collarbone, pressing into her skin with every breath, leaving a faint red mark.
What was originally a solemn, ascetic priestess outfit was worn by her with a certain secret allure.
Her dark brown hair was pulled back onto her back. Her face was like a light veil brushed by moonlight—delicate, soft, and carrying a hint of shy translucence.
Her eyelashes were dense and long. Under her slightly closed, narrow eyes, she was filled with a holy aura, but the combination of her pale blue left eye and the blood-emerald-like red right eye completely shattered that last bit of holiness.
The tear mole at the corner of her eye added an indescribable charm to her face. This was a succubus through and through, hiding in the human world!
[Congratulations to Adventurer Mia for completing the novice initial mission!]
[Proceeding to instance settlement]

[Special Mission: Kill the extremely rare species Burrowing Devouring Slime, completed. Obtained special item: deaths white moonlight] (Even though the slime killed Mia. Whatever. Paradise Lost is just clever, tsk tsk tsk...)
[deaths white moonlight: A necklace accessory in the shape of a cross. It can prevent one death and immediately return you to Paradise Lost. Upon preventing death, all points obtained in the instance are cleared, the item is lost, and 1000 points are deducted. Because it is a special item, it can be taken out of Paradise Lost back to the real world. Activating this item in the real world will immediately prevent death and return you to Paradise Lost without other penalties.] (Pah, white moonlight charges a fee? Wouldn't a cinnabar mole result in being torn apart by five horses then?)
"System, please display my current information!" Her sweet voice carried a hint of hoarse urgency, full of seductive flavor.

[Description: Oh, succubus who aspires to be good, I wonder how far you can go on this path?]
[Description: Killing other Paradise Lost players in the same region will increase Kill Points. If Kill Points are too high, you will be wanted by the system.]
(Why else would I say the Paradise Lost System is excellent? This data isn't missing a single thing, really!)
Mia had passed the Paradise Lost System's screening without incident. She patted her chest lightly and let out a long sigh of relief. She had just noticed that on the floor of her small room lay a scattered black and white nun's outfit and white stockings. She picked them up gently, her expression shifting from initial vigilance to later relief.
"It seems this set of clothes indicates not that someone broke into my private room, but that items from outside the system cannot be brought into the instance."
"I was probably livestreaming dancing shortly before entering the instance, right? Me? I am...?"
A sharp pain in her head, followed by another.
[Life Support System Warning: The host's pollution level has reached 30%. If the pollution level reaches 55% or higher, the host will lose consciousness and become a replica of the original body owner, or be possessed by an Outer God to become a vessel for the Outer God. This system currently does not provide methods to counter pollution levels. Appropriately roleplaying the personality and behavior of the original body owner helps to stabilize or reduce the pollution level.] (Keep struggling for survival, won't you? Use your pain to please me!)
"I am Luo Yu, and my current identity is Mia. Fortunately, it hasn't reached the point where I can't distinguish my own identity." Mia said, her red lips parting slightly, her voice trembling slightly.
With that, she took off the blood-stained priestess robe she was wearing and, with a bit of awkwardness, put on the clothes that had been scattered on the floor before Mia was teleported into the instance.
She tied her hair back, picked up the hooded cloak issued by the system, and applied for a blurring effect on her appearance. Because she had no body when she smuggled into Paradise Lost last time, she hadn't had the chance to go anywhere outside her private space. She prepared to go out and take a look.
After pushing the door open and leaving her private room, Mia looked back and saw that the door had completely dissolved into the wall, leaving no trace, and it was moving at a constant speed—this, of course, was also to prevent others from identifying you by matching the room.
"From this perspective, Paradise Lost is much more reliable than the Life Support System..."
The grand plaza of Paradise Lost was full of a technological feel. According to the Paradise Lost introduction, it was divided into areas for residence, trading, non-mandatory mission issuance, training and enhancement, entertainment and leisure, etc.
There are roughly several methods for trading items notified by the Paradise Lost System:
One, buy directly from the Paradise Lost main god system; the prices are rigid and slightly expensive, but it has the advantage of being honest with all customers. (Right! Everything is insanely expensive, of course it cheats everyone.)
Two, there is an area in the grand plaza of Paradise Lost specifically for Adventurers to set up stalls for trading. Whether things are cheap or expensive depends on business acumen and luck. At the same time, a small number of items require appraisal; those looking to save trouble and those wanting to gamble on their luck will keep an eye on such things.
Three, buy in special trading venues within special instances, using equivalents not limited to Paradise Lost points.
Mia strolled toward the trading plaza. Dim lights flickered on the stalls, illuminating the indistinct shadowy faces of the stall owners beneath their hoods, looking just like the ghost markets she had visited during her lifetime...
