110: Chapter 110 formally filed the lawsuit
At the very top floor of the United Nations, hearing Cole's anxious question, Chen Mu raised his right hand and waved it behind him.
"I already know about the matter. You Blue Star people, if you want to protest, can't you find a place where people can't see you? You just have to go to someone's doorstep; you can't blame them for being angry."
Cole opened her mouth, the second half of her sentence stuck in her throat. The entire set of talking points she had prepared was now useless; she couldn't utter a single word in the face of Chen Mu's casual tone.
"Ball Chief, your lesson is well taken," she could only lower her head. "But in this current situation, we really don't know how to handle it."
"The President, the Department of Defense, and the entire National Security Council are all waiting for your instructions, Ball Chief."
Chen Mu turned around, placed his coffee cup on the windowsill, and leaned against the window frame. "Since the incident has already occurred, you should go back, represent the United States government, write a lawsuit, submit it to the Interstellar Court, and formally file a lawsuit against A-Zu."
Cole's eyes lit up, but then she became somewhat doubtful, unable to tell whether Chen Mu was leaning towards A-Zu or the humans.
Before she could fully process this thought, Chen Mu had already turned towards the door and raised his voice.
"Danzo!"
A dull sound of a wooden cane striking the stone floor echoed in the corridor outside.
Then the door opened. Danzo Shimura walked in, leaning on a cane.
Today, he wasn't wearing the full military uniform he had worn when appearing in Washington; instead, he was draped in a dark grey cloak, its collar standing straight up.
"Take people immediately and summon A-Zu and his party here," Chen Mu ordered. "If they dare to resist, use force to apprehend them immediately."
Danzo nodded, and then his entire figure began to fade; his body's outline dissolved into the air little by little.
Cole's eyes widened instantly. This was the first time she had seen an alien standing in front of her dissolve completely into the air, like a drop of ink poured into clear water.
Chen Mu picked up the coffee cup from the windowsill and took another sip. He walked past Cole and patted her shoulder. "Alright, go prepare the litigation materials. The Interstellar Court will convene promptly at two in the afternoon."
"Oh, and make the complaint detailed. Don't make it like those diplomatic notes of yours, which are full of empty words. Write down the specific causes and consequences clearly, especially exactly how many people died."
When Cole came out of the Ball Chief's office, she pulled her phone out of her pocket.
There were seventeen missed calls on the screen, all from the President's office. She called back, and it was answered after one ring.
"Mr. President, prepare the complaint. At two in the afternoon, we will formally file a public prosecution against A-Zu, the leader of the Planet Wuhu people, at the Interstellar Court."
The President's hoarse voice came from the other end of the line: "Did he accept the case?"
"Yes." Cole tucked the phone between her ear and shoulder and walked quickly towards the elevator. "The Ball Chief has already sent Danzo to arrest them."
"Cole, I am entrusting the afternoon's lawsuit entirely to you." The call hung up.
Inside the Wuhu shop, the air was thick with the scent of blood. Bloodstains from A-Zu's boots, tracked in from outside, still remained on the floor. Kara had wiped them three times with a rag, but every time she wiped, new blood seeped in from the gaps in the paving stones at the door.
Kara wrung out the rag, her antennae taut like two thin strings above her head. She turned to A-Zu, who was leaning against the counter with his eyes closed, resting, and deliberated three times before speaking.
"Prince, you were too impulsive. So many people died; those Blue Star people will definitely resist to the death."
A-Zu did not open his eyes, just tapped his fingers lightly on the edge of the counter.
"I don't think so, Kara." It wasn't A-Zu who answered, but Carl, who had been silently squatting in the corner.
He was rubbing a tiny flame in his palm, flicking the edge of the fire with his fingertips, as if teasing a miniature pet.
He rolled the flame from his index finger to his middle finger, then to his ring finger, his movements so practiced they gave people goosebumps.
"I have also been observing Blue Star civilization these past few days. I discovered that these Blue Star people can only bicker with their mouths; whenever I show them my flame, they don't dare to make a sound."
"When that girl came to cause trouble yesterday, there was a whole room full of people; did anyone dare to help her? Those people at the door were shouting loudly just now, but when Prince counted to two, the front row had already started running."
He snapped the flame out in his palm and looked up. "Now that our Prince has taught them a lesson, I dare say they won't take any other action besides complaining to Commander Chen Mu."
Kara turned to Carl, her antennae vibrating backward. "How many Blue Star people have you actually seen? Since we arrived, have you seen the Blue Star military? Have you seen their top government officials?"
She threw the rag onto the counter. "As far as I know, the level of high-end military power on Blue Star is not in the hands of the ordinary people who come to our caravan to buy goods, but in the hands of their top leadership."
"How do you know these top leaders won't burn their bridges and go to war with us?"
"Enough!" A-Zu opened his eyes, and Kara and Carl simultaneously shut their mouths.
He straightened up from the counter, his fingers stopped tapping, and his gaze swept between the two of them before landing on the blood-soaked paving stones outside the door. "Don't they just have so-called nuclear bombs? Once Commander Chen Mu's attitude is clear..."
"I will personally visit their top officials one by one. Let's see if their bones are really as hard as they claim."
Before his words had even faded, a loud noise erupted outside the shop. The sound seemed to come from all directions, as if an invisible giant hand had descended from the sky, cupping the entire Fifth Avenue in its palm, and then clenched tightly towards the shop's front door.
"All Planet Wuhu people, proceed to the Interstellar Court immediately!"
Kara rushed to the door in two or three steps, pushed it open, and leaned half her body out.
Then she froze, her antennae bristling on top of her head like two straight wires.
"Prince, this is bad! Outside is full of Guga Planet spaceships and soldiers!"
A-Zu lifted his foot and walked towards the door. "What are you panicking about?"
He walked past Kara and reached out to push open the glass door. "If Commander Chen Mu wanted to kill me, would he need to notify me in advance?"
He walked out of the shop, stood still, and then slowly raised both hands.
In front of A-Zu, Danzo stood in the middle of the sidewalk, leaning on his cane, the tip of which was planted squarely beside a bloodstain that had not yet dried.
Behind Danzo, ten Guga soldiers lined up, their exoskeleton armor gleaming with a matte black-grey luster in the sunlight. Each suit of armor had its arms raised, with weapon ports aimed at A-Zu's chest.
In the sky, ten small aircraft hovered in a fan shape over Fifth Avenue, their cannons aimed down at A-Zu. Deep within the cannons, a ghostly blue light flickered, and that blue light was shining squarely on A-Zu's face.
