83: Chapter 83 Wuhu Civilization
Inside the airport, Chen Mu walked up to the President, patted his shoulder, and signaled for him to step back.
He then turned to A-Zu: "A-Zu, long time no see."
A-Zu's antennae twitched violently, and the arrogance on his face froze. He said dryly: "Commander Chen Mu, why are you here?"
Chen Mu smiled: "Before coming to Blue Star, I visited your father. He asked me to bring you a message, saying that he is doing very well inside."
A-Zu's expression changed visibly. His antennae slowly drooped, his lips moved a few times, but in the end, he didn't say anything.
Danzo stood to the side, his cold eyes narrowing slightly.
A-Zu took a deep breath, lowered his head, and said respectfully: "Thank you for the message, Commander Chen Mu."
Chen Mu nodded and said nothing more. He turned to the President and said: "Mr. President, take them to visit New York."
The President was stunned for a moment, then came back to his senses and nodded quickly: "Alright, this way please."
The President regained his demeanor as a host and enthusiastically gestured for everyone to get into the cars.
A row of black sedans had long been waiting by the runway, with a sharp-suited Secret Service driver standing next to each car.
"Distinguished guests, please board. We have arranged an official welcoming ceremony for you in New York." The President made a gesture of invitation, a smile piling up on his face again.
A-Zu glanced at the line of sedans, the corners of his mouth drooping slightly, revealing a hint of undisguised disdain.
"No need for that." His voice carried an unquestionable arrogance: "In which direction is this New York you speak of?"
The Secretary of State was stunned for a moment and instinctively pointed to the northwest, where the skyscrapers of Manhattan were faintly visible on the distant skyline.
A-Zu did not say another word.
His body rose abruptly like an ignited rocket, stirring up a violent gust of air.
Dust on the ground was kicked up, even forming a small vortex, and several Secret Service agents instinctively raised their hands to shield their eyes.
By the time they opened their eyes again, A-Zu had turned into a black dot in the sky, disappearing instantly above the clouds.
The runway was deathly silent.
The Secretary of State's hand was still raised in mid-air, his expression frozen. The Secretary of Defense's mouth was slightly agape, and the President was also extremely shocked.
Everyone's gaze slowly turned to the remaining nineteen people from Planet Wuhu, meaning: Why aren't you flying?
Those green-skinned visitors remained standing where they were, their antennae swaying slightly, all standing there awkwardly.
Eventually, eyes landed on a person from Planet Wuhu who was half a head shorter than A-Zu.
His antennae were slightly thinner than his companions', but his eyes were sharper, clearly making him the leader of this group besides A-Zu.
His name was Karl.
Facing everyone's scrutinizing gaze, Karl frowned fiercely and cursed: "What are you looking at? We can't fly!"
He strode toward the nearest car and bent down to climb inside directly, his movements crisp and neat, giving no one time to react.
The remaining eighteen people from Planet Wuhu then moved. They lined up, walked silently toward the motorcade, and climbed into different vehicles.
Not until the last car door closed did the Secret Service agents wake from their daze and return to their respective positions.
Chen Mu had long since sat in his vehicle. He didn't stand there dazed like the others; even at the moment A-Zu took off, his expression didn't change, as if all of this was within his expectations.
Just as he was about to close the car door, a large hand suddenly reached in from outside and gripped the door frame tightly.
The President bent over, his face piled with that highly performative, ingratiating smile: "Ball Chief, do you mind if I catch a ride?"
Without waiting for Chen Mu's answer, the President had already squeezed into the front passenger seat, his movements with an agility completely inconsistent with his age and build.
While fastening his seatbelt, he turned back and smiled at Chen Mu, a smile filled with an almost shameless sycophancy.
Chen Mu, in the back seat, leaned against the seat, glanced at him, and nodded slightly.
The driver was a Secret Service agent. He glanced at Chen Mu's expression through the rearview mirror and then silently started the engine.
The motorcade slowly drove out of the airport and merged onto the highway leading to Manhattan.
The car was silent for a few seconds. The President turned his head from time to time to observe Chen Mu's expression, his thumbs rubbing continuously on his knees.
Finally, he couldn't hold back. His face piled up with that smile again, and he asked in a low voice: "Ball Chief, what exactly is the background of those aliens?"
He extended his index finger and gestured on his forehead: "Look at how they're dressed, wearing linen clothes and straw sandals; they look exactly like primitives who ran out of some mountain ravine."
"But these primitives can suddenly fly into the sky; what kind of logic is that?"
Chen Mu did not answer immediately. He looked at the scenery passing by outside the car window. At this moment, there were almost no civilian vehicles on the highway, clearly because the road had been cleared for their motorcade.
On both sides of the road, a police officer stood every few dozen meters, facing away from the highway and toward the distance.
After a long while, he spoke: "Mr. President, do not underestimate this civilization. They are called the Wuhu Civilization. In our Guga Civilization's analysis, they once belonged to a Level 1 civilization."
"And they are one of the few civilizations that have a record of direct engagement with our Guga fleet."
"Ah!" Maya in the back row couldn't help but exclaim: "Direct engagement? Can't you shut down the sun?"
Her voice carried undisguised shock. In her understanding, a civilization capable of remotely shutting down a star was almost like a god-like existence.
The President's eyes widened even further, the wrinkles on his face bunching up. He said incredulously: "Just based on them? Ball Chief, it's not that I'm boasting, but I feel they might not necessarily be able to beat our human civilization."
As the President of the United States, he was very clear about the war potential of human civilization. It could be said that as long as it was a battle within the planet, humans, relying on a large number of nuclear weapons, were already in an invincible position; at most, it would be mutual destruction.
Chen Mu chuckled, as if reminiscing: "Back then, we analyzed it the same way, so we thought that with a little deterrence, they would surrender just like you all."
Maya asked nervously: "And then?"
The smile on Chen Mu's face slowly receded, replaced by a serious expression: "To our surprise, their king turned out to be an S-rank Esper who could traverse the universe in his physical body to fight."
"He single-handedly slaughtered his way into space, destroying four of our small motherships and hundreds of individual aircraft."
The car fell into a brief, deathly silence.
The President was so shocked his jaw almost dropped. He had his mouth agape, his eyes wide like copper bells, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down several times, yet he couldn't say a single word.
Traversing the universe in a physical body?
The impact of this concept far exceeded the scene he saw at the airport when A-Zu shot into the sky.
One person, without a spaceship, without a protective suit, relying solely on their own body, could survive and fight in the vacuum of space.
On this point, their human civilization, even with the help of technology, could absolutely not do it; otherwise, they might have tried entering space to engage the Guga fleet back then.
"Then... then how did you defeat him?" Maya's voice was trembling slightly.
