121: Chapter 121 The Strategist Sima Bei

Inside the Wuhu Special Ability Store, Sima Bei flipped his fan over, fanned himself slightly, and said with an air of one who has everything under control, "Secondly, there was only one nuclear bomb used to blast you this time. Why weren't there ten or a hundred?"

"It's obvious that the humans of Earth today are not united in wanting to fight a nuclear war with you. I think you might not understand the global situation of our Earth. Before the arrival of the Great Ball Chief, the various countries of our Earth were actually on the verge of a full-scale outbreak of war."

"Believe me, I was born in the East, and I've been a military blogger for ten years. I understand their thoughts all too well. They simply want to warn you, to tell you not to mess with them, rather than wanting to fight a full-scale war with Planet Wuhu."

A-Zu raised his right hand and stroked his chin, lost in thought. The more he thought about it, the more he felt Sima Bei's words made sense. If he only attacked the United States, would the East and Russia step in to help?

"So what you're saying is?"

Sima Bei flicked his wrist, and the fan snapped open again. The four characters for 'Master of Win-ology' reflected slightly under the cold light. "Lord A-Zu, you are not the Ball Chief. The Ball Chief's civilization can shut down even a sun; he could wipe out Earth's civilization without firing a single shot."

"In his eyes, humanity is just a cricket. The more arrogant the cricket is, the happier he is, because the fight becomes more exciting that way."

"So he can let humans mess around as they please, even allowing them to form the Human Renaissance Alliance, because the Guga Civilization doesn't care!"

He glanced sideways toward the United Nations Building. "But you are different. If you want to conquer humanity while your strength is temporarily insufficient,"

He closed the fan and lightly tapped his temple with the handle. "Then you need wisdom to make up for it."

A-Zu fell silent. He suddenly thought of his father. As a child, he had witnessed his father slay dozens of A-rank Espers; even when they joined forces, they were no match for his father in a single exchange.

If his father were still here, forget a hundred nuclear bombs—even several times that amount wouldn't have been able to do anything to him.

At that thought, his eyes dimmed. It was a pity that even a father as powerful as that had been easily captured alive by the Guga Civilization's fleet. He heard that his father's life now was worse than that of a dog on Earth.

Suddenly, Sima Bei tucked his fan into his waist, lifted the hem of his suit jacket with his left hand, and knelt on one knee before A-Zu.

He said solemnly, "Lord A-Zu, this humble one is untalented, but I have studied the art of war since childhood and have been a military blogger for ten years. I believe I understand the politics of Earth's nations better than many of their foreign ministers."

"If Lord A-Zu does not mind, I am willing to assist you in achieving your great undertaking."

A-Zu's eyes turned slightly red as he stared intently at the position of Sima Bei's heart. He asked suspiciously, "You are clearly an Earthling, yet you kneel before me and say you want to help me rule your race."

"Give me a reason—a reason to believe you won't stab me in the back."

Sima Bei looked up, meeting A-Zu's gaze with a calm expression. "Lord A-Zu, there are two reasons."

"The first reason is for the survival of our Earth civilization. No one knows better than I how fragile the civilization on this planet is."

"I can guarantee you that even without me, Sima Bei, there will surely be a steady stream of Earthlings surrendering to you in the future."

"In fact, before our civilization was pierced by external threats, it was already shattered from within."

"Among those who will eventually swarm before you to beg for recruitment, some will sell out their neighbors to survive, some will sell out their compatriots to become officials, and some may even order the massacre of millions just to snatch a position higher than their rivals within your ruling system."

He knelt on both knees and kowtowed to A-Zu. "Rather than letting those despicable people take the lead, it's better that I do it. At least I won't let Earth's civilization go extinct."

"Although I will help you conquer Earth, I also want to leave a way for our civilization to survive within your ruling system."

Kara was almost dazed listening to this. It was clearly a betrayal of his own race, but the way Sima Bei put it, it seemed like what he was doing was actually right.

"The second reason," Sima Bei continued, "is my personal reason. I spent several years taking exams for government positions in the East, but I never passed. Several times in a row, either my scores weren't high enough or I was filtered out during the interview."

His tone became agitated. "I've been a military blogger for a full ten years. My fans even call me the 'Civilian National Defense University Professor,' but they wouldn't even give me a single grassroots position in a city."

He looked up directly at A-Zu, his eyes full of resentment. "So I want to use this opportunity to prove one thing: I, Sima Bei, can also stir up the world's winds and clouds."

"I want those who once looked down on me to see clearly that their fate is decided by me from this day forward. Whether their civilization can survive depends on my whim."

After he finished, he straightened his back and folded his hands over his knees, waiting for A-Zu's response.

The red light in A-Zu's eyes slowly faded. He could clearly see that Sima Bei was not lying.

"Rise."

A-Zu tilted his chin toward Karl, who was standing nearby. "Give him a Superpower Serum and help him awaken his Special Ability."

The flame in Karl's palm flickered. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but Kara had already walked past him. She pulled a bottle of genuine awakening potion from the bottom shelf of the counter and placed it in Sima Bei's palm.

"Thank you for the reward, Lord A-Zu!" Sima Bei took the potion, unscrewed the cap, and downed it in one go. Before he could even taste it, he suddenly felt an itch in his throat, as if countless extremely fine needle tips were stabbing outward from the inner wall of his trachea at once, followed by a twisting sensation.

He bent over and coughed several times before he started to feel a bit better.

Afterward, he moved his shoulders, felt his knees, and even touched the shoe-print tattoo on his face with his hand. Nothing had changed.

"Lord A-Zu," he lowered his hand, his voice tinged with disappointment, "what's going on? Did the awakening fail?"

Kara suddenly took a step forward, the tips of her antennae curving slightly as she scrutinized Sima Bei's pupils for several seconds.

"What you awakened should be some kind of mental-type Special Ability." Kara retracted her antennae, her tone maintaining its usual professional coolness. "Try it. Command Karl to get you a glass of water."

Sima Bei turned to Karl and said, "Lord Karl, please get me a glass of water, thank you."

Karl snapped his head toward the water dispenser, then quickly looked back at Sima Bei, saying in shock, "It's actually the Special Ability: Bewitchment! This was the skill of the State Preceptor back then!"

"Hahaha!" A-Zu leaned against the counter and suddenly laughed out loud.

He really hadn't expected that this seemingly exceptionally shameless Earthling would have such amazing talent for Special Abilities.

Although it was currently only F-rank and could only bewitch someone for a second, given time, the upper limit of this ability would be terrifying.

He completely lowered his right hand from his chest, took a step forward, and patted Sima Bei's shoulder with that hand.

"Alright, my strategist. What should we do next?"
