122: Chapter 122 Liberating All Mankind
Inside the Wuhu Ability Shop, Sima Bei waved his folding fan at a leisurely pace, the shoe-print tattoo on his face flickering in and out of view under the cold lights in rhythm with the fan's movement.
He said slowly, "The most urgent task is to immediately go to the United Nations and hold a press conference!"
"Hold a press conference?" A-Zu was a bit confused. "But I killed over a hundred people on Fifth Avenue this morning, and this afternoon I told the whole world in a live broadcast from the White House that Blue Star must surrender unconditionally and that you are a slave race."
"What do you want me to say at a press conference?"
"Lord A-Zu asks a good question." Sima Bei snapped his fan shut and tapped his palm with the handle. "This is exactly the key point I want to address. As the saying goes, if the name is not right, the words will not be proper, and if the words are not proper, then nothing can be accomplished."
"Today you did two things: destroyed the White House and demanded that humanity surrender. In the eyes of humans, what are these two things now? They are aggression. They are terrorist attacks. They are a unilateral declaration of war by an alien civilization."
"But what we need to do is simple: package these two events as acts of justice."
Kara flicked her antennae slightly and asked in confusion, "Acts of justice? How do we package that? Should we still say the United States provoked us first? Say their military attacked first?"
"No, no, no. That is too low-level, and it can only be called self-defense; it has absolutely nothing to do with justice."
Sima Bei shook his head, the four words "Master of Winning" written in black on a white background swaying slightly under the light. "That kind of excuse sounds like a routine losers use to justify themselves."
"But true winners do not need excuses; winners rewrite the script directly. We can simply say that the United States government is evil, and thus, Lord A-Zu, who strikes against it, is naturally righteous."
The shop fell silent. The three of them were completely mentally stalled; they understood every word Sima Bei said, but when put together, they had no idea what it meant.
They were clearly the ones who attacked without declaring war, yet they were somehow the righteous ones? How was that possible?
"We can first declare that the United States government," Sima Bei continued waving his fan at a leisurely pace, "has long oppressed its people internally and waged wars externally, capitalists monopolize wealth, and politicians manipulate elections, trapping the lower classes in medical bills and student loans forever, unable to ever rise again."
"These reasons are not made up by me; they are what their own media reports every day. They are absolutely authentic and credible."
He closed his fan. "And Lord A-Zu, although an alien, possesses a heart of justice."
"After Lord A-Zu descended upon Blue Star, he saw the suffering of the people of the United States, the decay of capitalism, and saw those politicians in the White House turning the hard-earned money of ordinary people into contracts for arms dealers, and the future of young people into bets on Wall Street."
"Lord A-Zu thought it over, couldn't sleep at night, and finally decided to single-handedly destroy the evil White House, breaking the shackles of capitalism that were around the necks of the people of the United States."
A-Zu, who had been leaning against the counter, slowly straightened his back. His antennae flicked slightly on top of his head.
Kara paused for a beat before responding, her voice tinged with confusion. "So we aren't invading; we are helping the people of Blue Star liberate themselves?"
"Exactly." Sima Bei flipped his fan upward, the surface tracing a short arc in the air. "And Lord A-Zu's live broadcast from the White House this afternoon was not a demand for humanity to surrender; it was Lord A-Zu announcing the liberation of all humanity."
"The reason words like 'surrender' and 'slave' appeared was purely due to the intentional smearing by some villains."
"In reality, Lord A-Zu's original intention was to lead all of humanity into a new era where everyone is equal."
A flame flickered in Kara's palm. "But what does slavery have to do with equality?"
Sima Bei smiled slightly. "If everyone on Blue Star becomes Lord A-Zu's slave, hasn't equality for all been achieved?"
He turned back and opened his fan toward A-Zu. "As for Mary and those people protesting on Fifth Avenue, as well as the Human Renaissance Alliance, they have instead become sinners who hinder human progress."
"Lord A-Zu, you want to liberate all of humanity, yet they incite the public to boycott your serum. Lord A-Zu, you are advancing the great cause of equal exchange between humanity and alien civilization, yet they use demonstrations to disrupt interstellar trade order."
"Their actions are actually in defense of the evil United States government."
"As for the nuclear bomb issue, that is even easier to handle. Just say their video is forged. The truth is that after Lord A-Zu destroyed the White House for the cause of human liberation, faced with the Human Renaissance Alliance using people's lives as threats, you bore the humiliation and voluntarily retreated to New York in order not to harm the innocent."
Kara remained silent for a long time. She could find logical flaws in every single sentence Sima Bei said if taken individually, but taken together, she found that she didn't know where to start refuting them.
Finally, she could only choke out: "This is just too outrageous! Will humans believe it?"
"Lord Kara asks a good question." Sima Bei held his fan horizontally across his chest. "Whether they believe it or not is not important. What is important is that they never trusted each other to begin with."
"Just as I said earlier, the human race has never been a monolithic block. Americans hate other Americans, the United States hates other countries, and different social classes within the same country hate each other."
"During the White House live broadcast, you all saw it too. Lord A-Zu had already taken control of the White House, yet those people were still cursing at each other."
"Lord A-Zu, what you need to do is stir up their internal conflicts—pull one group in, and strike another."
"Once these people gradually form a momentum, you only need to call out, and those who have been won over will naturally solve the rest for you."
A-Zu and Kara exchanged a glance, and A-Zu asked, "Then what is the first step?"
Sima Bei pointed his fan at A-Zu and smiled. "The first step, naturally, is to package Lord A-Zu's image. After all, a good image is always the first step to gaining people's trust."
The deep blue halo of the Time Mirror swirled slowly in the top-floor office of the United Nations, like a pond suspended in mid-air, clearly reflecting every frame from inside the Wuhu shop on Fifth Avenue in New York.
Chen Mu leaned back into the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, holding a cup of steaming coffee in his hand.
Chen Mu took a sip of coffee, placed the cup on the sofa armrest, and hummed softly toward the mirror. "Sure enough, he suffered a loss."
He had actually anticipated this long ago. After all, when the character A-Zu was created in the system, he was set as Quasi-A Rank.
There is a huge chasm between Quasi-A Rank and True A Rank. With human civilization backed by a complete industrial and intelligence system, once they truly make up their minds to cut off their own arm to save their life and throw nuclear bombs without restraint, let alone A-Zu being Quasi-A Rank, even if he were upgraded to Quasi-S Rank, he would still not escape the fate of meeting his doom in the end.
After all, being able to withstand one doesn't mean you can withstand a hundred; and being able to withstand a hundred doesn't mean you can withstand a thousand or ten thousand.
Only by reaching true S Rank can one completely destroy human civilization.
However, what he didn't expect was Sima Bei. After all, A-Zu and his group were his creations; their personalities, memories, etc., were all personally tuned by him, and Chen Mu could predict their behavior to some extent.
If A-Zu were a nuclear bomb, previously he could only rely on his own energy to level a city, but now that there is precision guidance alongside the nuclear bomb, the power has increased by several times over.
He placed the coffee cup on the windowsill and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window.
Outside the window, the night in New York had grown deep, but the neon lights of Times Square were still flickering.
"I'd like to see how much of a storm these two people combined can stir up in this Guga Era."
