118: Chapter 118 Jiang Chen: I've already told you to be careful with electricity.

The official livestream channel of Chenxing Technology saw its popularity break the server's capacity limits again tonight.

There was no pre-hype and no product posters.

There was only a simple and blunt title: "A Few Statements Regarding Last Night's 'Mousetrap' Electric Leakage Injury Incident."

Eight o'clock in the evening sharp.

The screen lit up.

The background was still that familiar villa living room, full of the atmosphere of daily life (though, in reality, it was an atmosphere of luxury). Jiang Chen was wearing loose loungewear, sitting cross-legged on the sofa, holding a yellow ball of fluff that was currently gnawing on an apple.

That ball of fluff was furry and round, its two pointed ears twitching from time to time, and those large, dark, glistening eyes were filled with innocence and cuteness.

While chewing on the apple, it gently swept its signature lightning-shaped tail against Jiang Chen's arm.

It looked just like a slightly chubby, dyed marmot.

Harmless to humans and animals, and one even wanted to pet it.

"Hello there, everyone."

Jiang Chen waved at the camera, while his other hand extremely naturally rubbed the head of the S-rank ferocious beast in his arms. "Good evening, everyone. I am Jiang Chen, and this here is my new pet, named… Pikachu."

The livestream chat exploded instantly.

[Holy shit! Is this the "Mousetrap" that electrocuted five agents?]

[It's so cute! This appearance is cheating! No wonder it electrocuted the agents; if it were me, I'd want to steal it too!]

[Wake up, person above! That is a mobile high-voltage transmission tower! Whoever touches it dies!]

[God Jiang, are you sure this thing is safe? I think its tail is still sparking?]

Jiang Chen glanced at the chat and sighed helplessly.

He lifted Pikachu up, shaking it at the camera as if he were showing off an ordinary kitten or puppy:

"Everyone, don't believe everything you hear."

"What biological weapon? What high-voltage transmission tower? This is just an ordinary little animal, just with a little… hmm, special ability."

"Regarding what happened last night, I must clarify."

Jiang Chen pressed Pikachu back into his arms, his expression instantly becoming sorrowful, even squeezing out a few crocodile tears:

"As you all know, it is winter now, and the weather is dry."

"This little animal has a lot of fur, and when it rubs against the carpet, generating some static electricity is very consistent with the laws of physics, right?"

"Plus, my courtyard has anti-theft nets and surveillance, so the magnetic field might be a little strong."

He paused, his tone filled with "sympathy" for the "deceased":

"Those foreign friends, not sleeping in the middle of the night, insisted on climbing over the wall."

"If you're going to come, just come, but you didn't wear insulated suits or insulated gloves."

"Isn't that the equivalent of touching a high-voltage line with bare feet?"

"With a zap, they were gone."

Jiang Chen spread his hands, looking innocent and regretful:

"Regarding this, I express my deepest sorrow."

"Really, it's too tragic. They were electrocuted until they were charred, and I still have to get people to re-lay the lawn. This lawn is very expensive."

In the livestream, tens of millions of viewers were stunned.

What the hell kind of static electricity is that!

What the hell kind of dry winter weather is that!

Whose static electricity can instantly electrocute five people into charcoal? Is the static electricity in your house rubbed together by Thor?

But Jiang Chen said it so seriously, and the Pikachu in his arms cooperated extremely well by yawning, casually rubbing its cheek against Jiang Chen's chest and letting out a soft, sweet "Pika…", looking incredibly well-behaved.

This strong visual contrast made everyone have a misconception:

Perhaps… maybe… probably… it really was an accident?

"Of course."

Jiang Chen changed the subject, and the previous playful expression vanished instantly.

He didn't look at the camera but lowered his head, slowly and methodically grooming the soft fur on Pikachu's back. His voice became low and cold, revealing a warning that made people's spines chill:

"I also want to remind certain… people who have ill intentions toward me."

"My pet here is a bit shy with strangers."

"And its temper isn't very good; it has severe morning grouchiness and territorial awareness."

"Except for me, and my family."

Jiang Chen lifted his head, a cold light flashing in his deep eyes as he stared directly into the camera, as if looking across the ocean at those greedy eyes on the other side:

"Whoever dares to reach out without permission again…"

"Next time, it might not be as simple as 'static electricity'."

"After all, its diet has been good lately, and its voltage… seems to have gone up again."

"Pika!!!"

As if to cooperate with its master's intimidation, the Pikachu in his arms suddenly turned its head sharply, baring its row of fine, small white teeth at the camera.

The red pouches on its cheeks suddenly lit up.

"Zzzzzzt—!"

Two visible blue electric arcs instantly exploded in front of the camera, emitting a heart-stopping, crackling sound.

The livestream image was even interfered with, shaking violently and showing a patch of static.

Although it was only for a short second.

But the terrifying sense of oppression that could be felt through the screen made countless viewers watching the livestream almost drop their phones in fear.

This was a warning.

A naked display of force.

"Alright, alright, don't scare the little ones."

Jiang Chen nonchalantly patted Pikachu's head, pressing down that impending thunder, and put that harmless smile back on his face:

"In short, the same words as before."

"There are thousands of roads, but safety is the first one."

"Theft is not standard procedure, and your loved ones will shed tears."

"That's it for today's livestream. Good night, everyone. Remember to be careful with electricity."

After saying this, he decisively cut the signal.

In the villa living room, the light became soft again.

Jiang Chen put Pikachu on the sofa, tossed it a new high-energy battery as a snack, and then stretched long and hard.

"This group of people should be able to quiet down for a few days, right?"

He rubbed his temples, feeling a bit tired.

Ever since he brought back that Nobel Prize, all kinds of monsters and demons had emerged. Although he had a privilege certificate for protection and Pikachu to guard the house, this feeling of being watched all the time was still very unpleasant.

"Boss."

Zhao Gang, who had been guarding by the side, walked over with a newly printed document in his hand, his expression rarely carrying a trace of excitement.

"Just now, during the livestream, Academician Chen called."

"Oh? What's up with that crazy woman again?"

Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow. "Does she want to dissect Pikachu, or does she want to dissect me?"

"Neither."

Zhao Gang shook his head and handed the document to Jiang Chen, his tone carrying an irrepressible excitement:

"It's good news."

"Huge, wonderful news."

"The technology you previously had her reverse-engineer… the Anti-gravity Engine technology taken from the Wasteland mech, also known as the 'Individual Flight Device' project."

"Just now, the first batch of prototypes…"

"Mass production was successful!"

Jiang Chen's hand paused abruptly.

He took the document, looked at the sci-fi-looking backpack design drawing on it that resembled steel wings, and his eyes instantly lit up.

Individual Flight Device!

That is every man's ultimate dream!

And this wasn't some oversized drone that could only fly for a few minutes; it was a divine artifact that truly utilized Anti-gravity Engine technology and could allow people to soar freely in the sky like birds!

"Finally, it's done…"

Jiang Chen muttered to himself, the corners of his mouth curling into a wild arc.

He slapped the document onto the table, his eyes flashing with a light called "making trouble":

"Old Zhao!"

"Pass the word down!"

"For tomorrow's company annual meeting, there's no need to do those flashy, useless lucky draws."

"Cash, gold bars—they're all too tacky!"

"Bring this batch of flight devices to the scene for me!"

"I want my employees to know…"

Jiang Chen stood up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and pointed at the vast starry sky outside:

"If you follow me, God Jiang."

"I can not only bring them money."

"I can also take them… to the sky!"
