187: Chapter 187 Jiang Chen: Taste My Electromagnetic Railgun

Inside the machine room, the smell of burning was pungent.

That once arrogant "Skynet" mainframe had now turned into a lump of scrap metal that twitched from time to time.

"Let's go."

Jiang Chen tucked Pikachu back into his pocket, brushed the dust off his sleeves, and looked disgusted:

"The smell here is too strong; it's not just foul, it's irritating to the eyes."

Jiang Wanqiu carried that blood-dripping alloy greatsword and followed docilely behind him. She looked back at the electrocuted giant eyeball, her eyes filled with disbelief.

The mechanical catastrophe that had plagued Dawn City for hundreds of years and nearly wiped out humanity.

Just like that... it was gone?

Destroyed by a mouse?

"Father God, are we just going to let it go?"

Jiang Wanqiu was a bit confused, "Although its brain is fried, this base still remains. As long as those production lines are restarted, it can produce a new army very quickly."

"Let it go?"

Jiang Chen stopped and stood at the entrance of the ruined base.

The cold wind howled.

He raised his head and looked at the gray sky obscured by smoke above, a cruel yet elegant arc curling at the corners of his mouth:

"I have a habit when it comes to doing things."

"And that is—"

"Cutting the grass requires pulling out the roots."

"Bzzt—"

The communicator connected.

"Old Chen, have you locked onto the coordinates?"

Academician Chen Shuyin's calm yet slightly excited voice came through the earpiece:

"Lock complete. The margin of error is no more than three centimeters."

"The luan niao starship's planet-killing electromagnetic railgun main cannon, charging progress at 100%."

"Ammunition type: High-density tungsten-hafnium alloy kinetic projectile."

"Ready to fire at any time."

Jiang Chen nodded.

He turned around and looked at the massive, hideous, steel fortress-like intelligent machine base behind him.

"Then let's give this bunch of iron scrap a final big gift."

"Let them taste..."

Jiang Chen reached out and made a downward pressing gesture:

"Justice — from the Divine Realm."

"Vroom—!!!"

High above in the heavens, the clouds suddenly broke apart.

That silver giant ship hovering in low earth orbit finally bared its most hideous fangs.

Beneath the bow, the armor plates slid open layer by layer.

A massive cannon barrel, suffocatingly thick and over a hundred meters long, slowly extended.

Around the muzzle, blue electric arcs danced wildly, and the surrounding space distorted visibly due to the terrifying accumulation of energy.

A world-destroying pressure instantly enveloped the entire Wasteland.

On the ground.

The Dragon Country soldiers who were cleaning up the battlefield and the surviving Wasteland warriors simultaneously stopped what they were doing.

They looked up, staring at the sky in terror.

The light there was even more dazzling than the sun.

"Father God..."

Jiang Wanqiu looked at the anomaly in the sky, the light of destruction reflected in her red pupils, her body instinctively tensing up.

Even though she was a genetically modified super soldier.

In the face of this power capable of shattering stars, she also felt a shudder deep in her soul.

"Don't be afraid."

A large, warm hand suddenly reached out.

Jiang Chen didn't look at the sky; instead, he turned to the side and gently, tenderly covered Jiang Wanqiu's ears.

His movements were very slow and gentle.

It was as if he were cherishing a fragile piece of porcelain.

Jiang Wanqiu was stunned.

She looked at the man in front of her.

Behind her was the destructive heavenly fire about to descend, while in front of her was his face with a faint smile.

"It's a bit loud."

Jiang Chen leaned close to her forehead and whispered:

"Close your eyes."

"Count to three, and that's it."

Jiang Wanqiu's face instantly turned bright red.

She obediently closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling, her heart beating louder than war drums.

In this moment filled with death and destruction.

She only felt... an unprecedented sense of security.

"Three."

"Two."

"One."

"Boom—!!!"

The heavens and earth lost their voice.

A crimson beam of light, connecting heaven and earth, erupted from the muzzle of the luan niao starship.

It was a solid metal projectile weighing several tons, accelerated to dozens of times the speed of sound by an electromagnetic field.

It carried world-destroying kinetic energy, and the high temperature generated by friction with the air made it look like a falling sun.

In an instant.

It pierced through heaven and earth.

There was no explosion of fire, because it was moving too fast for an explosion to even occur.

There was only pure, ultimate physical destruction.

"Pfft—"

That incredibly sturdy intelligent machine base, capable of withstanding nuclear strikes, was like a block of butter sliced by a hot knife.

The moment the beam of light touched the ground.

It vaporized.

Whether it was the steel walls, the production lines buried deep underground, or those robots still trying to reboot.

All of them, in that instant, turned into the most basic atomic dust.

Immediately after.

Came the delayed shockwave.

The earth heaved violently, like a carpet being shaken.

A massive mushroom cloud, several kilometers high, rose from the impact point, only to be forcibly pressed down by the subsequent kinetic energy, forming a ring-shaped shockwave that spread in all directions.

Within a radius of ten miles, everything was razed to the ground.

The world went quiet.

Who knows how much time had passed.

The dust and smoke gradually dissipated.

The place where the intelligent machine base had originally stood was gone.

In its place was a bottomless, massive crater with glazed edges.

At the bottom of the crater, one could even see red magma flowing.

"It's over."

Jiang Chen let go of his hands covering Jiang Wanqiu's ears.

He turned around and looked at the scorched land before him, and at those Wasteland survivors in the distance who were slowly poking their heads out from behind cover, their faces blank.

The wind whipped his trench coat, making it snap loudly.

At this moment.

He was no longer that grinning merchant.

He was the only King of this Wasteland.

"Listen up!"

Jiang Chen's voice echoed over the ruins through the loudspeaker, majestic and cold:

"The war is over."

"From today on, this land bears the surname Jiang."

"Whether you are human, ghost, or mutant beast."

"As long as you are breathing on this land..."

Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the faces of every survivor, enunciating each word:

"You must follow my rules."

"Those who submit to me will prosper."

"Those who oppose me..."

He pointed to the giant crater behind him that was still emitting smoke:

"This is the fate that awaits!"
