201: Chapter 201 Capturing an Alien as a Pet, Live-Streaming the Taming Process Online

The vast deep space was deathly silent.

As that arrogant fleet of "The Sweepers" tucked their tails like frightened rabbits and fled into the wormhole, the lunar orbit returned to its former tranquility.

Only a few pieces of biological warship debris floating in space silently recounted the "attempted" invasion that had just occurred.

"They're running away already? How boring."

Jiang Chen, wearing his signature tactical trench coat and magnetic boots, leaped forward in the low-gravity environment of the lunar surface.

He carried a crowbar in his hand, followed by two "attachments"—Pikachu perched on his left shoulder and Xier hanging onto his right trouser leg.

"Daddy, the meat is running away."

Xier looked up, her little face filled with regret in her purple eyes, and there was even a drop of crystalline liquid at the corner of her mouth. "That big octopus... it really looked delicious. Its biological armor is high-protein, and it must have a lot of cartilage."

"Alright, stop thinking about eating."

Jiang Chen tapped her little head and sighed helplessly. "They are an advanced civilization, at least, so give them some face. Besides, we don't have that much wasabi."

He stopped and locked his gaze on a crater not far ahead.

There, a silver-gray object, looking like a large capsule, was half-buried in the lunar soil, its surface still flashing with a faint red distress light.

This was the escape pod ejected by the "Tentacle" scout ship before it self-destructed.

"Old Zhao, stay alert."

Jiang Chen instructed over the communication channel, then walked over with the crowbar.

"Received, Boss."

In the distance, Zhao Gang set up his laser sniper rifle, though he felt it was a bit redundant—after all, even the mothership had been scared off, and what remained was just a stray fish.

Jiang Chen walked up to the escape pod.

The material of this thing was very strange; it felt soft to the touch, like living skin, but its hardness was comparable to an alloy.

"Time to open the can."

Jiang Chen chuckled and shoved the crowbar in his hand hard into the gap of the cabin door.

With his genetically enhanced terrifying strength, he exerted force, and accompanied by a teeth-grinding "rip" sound, the sealed biological cabin door was forcibly torn open.

"Pfft—"

A puff of pale green gas gushed out.

Immediately after, a creature the size of a palm, pink and slippery, rolled out from inside.

It looked... how should I put it.

It looked like an octopus shrunk countless times, but with three large, terrified eyes on its head and six short, wriggling tentacles on its lower body.

At this moment, this "alien cub" was huddled in the corner, trembling all over, its three eyes filled with despair for this terrifying planet.

"Slurp."

Xier let go of Jiang Chen's thigh and instantly teleported in front of the little octopus, reaching out her small hand to grab it:

"Daddy! There's another one here! Although it's a bit small, it can be made into takoyaki!"

"Squeak—!!!"

The little octopus was so scared it let out a sharp ultrasonic scream, its six tentacles waving frantically as it tried to dig a hole to burrow into the center of the moon.

"Stop!"

Jiang Chen was quick to react, grabbing Xier by the back of her collar and pulling the foodie back, who wanted to eat anything living she saw.

"You only think about eating! This is a living specimen! It is a precious... ahem, alien friend!"

Jiang Chen squatted down, looking at the little octopus that was about to be scared to pee by Xier, rubbed his chin, and a glint of mischievousness flashed in his eyes.

This thing... looks quite unique.

Killing it is definitely out of the question, that would be too wasteful. Eating it is also off the table, it doesn't look like it has much meat.

Since that's the case...

"I've got it."

Jiang Chen snapped his fingers, took out his phone, and skillfully opened the live broadcast room.

"Since none of you have seen a real alien, today we'll have a live broadcast for the entire network—[Immersive Domestication of Alien Creatures]."

...

Earth, major live streaming platforms.

Although it was late at night, because of the "alien fleet retreat" incident just now, billions of people were still awake, waiting in front of their screens for the latest news.

Suddenly, the black screen lit up.

That familiar, handsome face that people both loved and hated appeared on the screen again.

"Hello, family."

Jiang Chen waved at the camera, with the desolate lunar surface and the brilliant starry sky in the background:

"That delivery from just now... no, those alien friends left in such a hurry that they dropped something."

"I figured it would be a waste to throw it away, so I picked it up."

He turned to the side and pointed the camera at the trembling little octopus on the ground:

"Ta-da! Look at this!"

"A wild, living, unopened alien cub!"

The bullet comments exploded instantly.

[Holy crap! God Jiang, are you really picking up junk? You even picked up this thing?]

[What is this? Squidward? Why does it look kind of cute?]

[Can it be eaten? Can it be eaten? Greetings from netizens in Guangdong!]

[Don't just think about eating, you upstairs! This is an intelligent alien creature! Suggest handing it over to the country for dissection!]

Jiang Chen looked at the bullet comments and laughed:

"Eating it is impossible, this little thing looks quite pitiful, and the meat is probably too tough."

"Dissection is also unnecessary, it's too cruel."

"I've decided to recruit it as a pet; it just so happens that Pikachu needs a lackey."

As he spoke, Jiang Chen took out a... tactical stun baton flickering with blue electric arcs from his pocket.

That was his "physical persuader" used for self-defense.

"Come here, little guy."

Jiang Chen gently poked the little octopus's tentacles with the stun baton, a nuclear-friendly smile on his face:

"We Earthlings are the most hospitable."

"Nice to meet you, how about a handshake?"

"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

The little octopus obviously didn't understand Chinese, but it understood the power of the stun baton. It waved its tentacles in horror, trying to attack this terrifying carbon-based monkey.

"Snap!"

Jiang Chen flicked his wrist, and the stun baton accurately tapped one of its tentacles.

"Zzz—"

A burst of numbing current flashed by.

The little octopus trembled all over, its three eyes instantly turned into mosquito coils, and that tentacle hung down limply.

"Tsk, disobedient."

Jiang Chen sighed and shrugged at the camera:

"Did you see that, family? Our alien friend is a bit shy and also a bit wary of strangers. We have to be patient."

"Come on, let's shake hands again."

"Snap!"

Another hit.

"Shake hands!"

"Snap!"

"Shake hands!"

After experiencing three rounds of "physical persuasion" and Xier's death stare while drooling nearby.

This alien cub from an advanced civilization, possessing some primary intelligence, finally understood.

With humiliating tears in its eyes, it tremblingly stretched out a tentacle, gently placed it on Jiang Chen's finger, and shook it up and down.

The action was standard, the posture humble.

"That's right!"

Jiang Chen put away the stun baton with satisfaction and stroked its slippery head:

"Good boy."

"From now on, your name is 'Octopus'. In this family, you're number four; ahead of you are Big Sister Xier, and Second Brother Pikachu, and I am your daddy."

In the live broadcast room, hundreds of millions of viewers laughed like crazy.

[What the hell, 'Octopus'! God Jiang is officially confirmed to be terrible at naming things!]

[Alien: I've never suffered such grievances in my life! I'd rather be made into sashimi!]

[Is this Earth's hospitality? Handshakes rely entirely on electricity? I've learned it, I've learned it!]

[The family hierarchy is clear at a glance! Aliens are not as good as rats, rats are not as good as lolis, and lolis are not as good as God Jiang!]

Just as Jiang Chen was about to throw this newly recruited lackey to Pikachu for training.

"Jiang Chen!"

A rush of hurried footsteps came from the airlock behind him.

Academician Chen Shuyin was wearing a heavy protective suit, running over like a clumsy penguin. She held up a black metal box that was still sparking, her voice so excited it even cracked:

"Stop playing with the octopus!"

"Look at this! This was dismantled from under that escape pod!"

"Black box?"

Jiang Chen was stunned for a moment and casually tossed "Octopus" aside.

Pikachu caught the new lackey with extreme precision in mid-air, then skillfully rolled it into a ball and sat on it like a cushion.

"Yes! It's a black box!"

Academician Chen Shuyin rushed to Jiang Chen, and through her visor, her eyes were frighteningly bright:

"Ikaros just decrypted the underlying data inside."

"This isn't an ordinary flight log."

"Inside... inside this are the core engine technology blueprints of the Sweeper Civilization!"

Jiang Chen's pupils suddenly constricted.

Engine technology?

The Sweeper Civilization is a tough character capable of interstellar travel!

If we can get their engine technology...

That wouldn't just mean wandering around the Solar System.

That means—

Those fifty billion tons of gold in Centaurus, and that ocean of Helium-3.

Finally, it's no longer a "pie in the sky" that we can see but can't touch!

"Quick!"

Jiang Chen grabbed Academician Chen Shuyin's arm, forgetting to even turn off the live stream:

"Back to base!"

"Have Ikaros analyze it at full power!"

"I want this thing... replicated within three days!"
