250: Chapter 251 Purchasing a "Causality Weapon": If I say you lose, you lose.

"I knew it, this crappy store should have been updated a long time ago."

Jiang Chen sat in the command chair of the luan niao starship, looking at those few icons shimmering with dark golden light, and tapped his finger lightly on the screen.

The style of the store had completely changed.

It was no longer filled with "low-end civilian goods" like Lithography Machine blueprints or exoskeleton armor, but had jumped straight into the realm of "mystical physics."

Every item emitted a strange fluctuation that caused the surrounding magnetic field to become chaotic.

"Causality Weapon."

Jiang Chen fixed his gaze on the first option, a cold smile curling at the corner of his lips, "This name sounds pretty imposing. Perfect, doesn't the mothership of The Sweepers always like to appear and disappear mysteriously?"

"It's the perfect time to let them taste what it means to have 'unexplained bad luck.'"

He clicked the purchase button.

"Ding!"

[Consumed 200,000,000 Energy Points.]

[Causality Weapon has been received and placed in your personal inventory.]

As the crisp prompt sound rang out, an object appeared out of thin air in Jiang Chen's hand.

He was stunned.

This thing... it looked so familiar.

It was a rusty remote control that looked like it had been salvaged from a television set decades ago. The casing was severely worn, two of the buttons were even sunken in, and a half-torn paper label was stuck on it, reading "TV Signal Switch."

"System, are you sure this thing can be used for war?"

Holding this remote control, which was full of cheap plastic vibes, Jiang Chen felt his intelligence had been insulted, "This looks even more broken than the TV remote belonging to the old gatekeeper at my apartment complex."

"It is the carrier of the Law of Causality."

The system's calm, mechanical voice resonated in his mind:

"The Law of Causality is superior to physical laws."

"The moment this remote is activated, the logical foundation of the target civilization will be forcibly modified."

"No matter how many dimensions the civilization has, as long as it is still bound by the chain of causality, its fate is yours to control."

Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow, feeling that this explanation was quite compelling.

In plain English: I press a button, you say you're strong, then you have to become weak for me; you say you're invincible, and the next second your reactor will explode.

This was unreasonable.

This was blatant bullying.

Meanwhile, in the distant cosmic starry sky, that massive mothership of The Sweepers had completed its turn.

Its hull, as massive as a mountain, was slowly pressing towards the direction of the Solar System.

Even from hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, that shudder-inducing will to erase all carbon-based life on Earth had already been precisely transmitted to the luan niao starship through some kind of sinister gravitational wave.

"Boss, they've started charging!"

Zhao Gang stared fixedly at the radar, his voice somewhat hoarse, "That thing's energy readings are skyrocketing! At this intensity... they're probably planning to split the Moon in half with a single shot!"

The atmosphere in the command room instantly dropped to freezing.

Several engineers had even closed their eyes, preparing to welcome that irresistible dimensional strike.

Although Academician Chen Shuyin was still operating the shields, the hand holding the data pad was visibly trembling violently.

After all, the opponent was a higher-dimensional civilization.

That difference in levels could not be bridged by ordinary laser cannons and missiles.

"Don't panic."

Jiang Chen stood up, straightened his hem, holding that rusty "remote control" in his hand, and smiled brilliantly, "Don't they want to show off their military might?"

"Then I'll let them see what 'unexplained bad luck' really means."

Jiang Chen strode to the main screen of the command center and aimed the camera at that alien mothership, which was flaunting its power.

He didn't activate the shields, nor did he sound the battle alarm.

He just faced the screen, as if he were facing a disobedient, mischievous child, and made an extremely casual motion of pressing a button.

"I say..."

Jiang Chen whispered softly, his voice clearly resonating in everyone's ears through the command room's broadcast system:

"Since you want to clean up the Solar System so badly, why don't you clean up your own reactor first."

"I'll just press this once."

"You lose."

"Click."

He pressed that sunken red button.

Although there was no deafening loud noise.

Although there were no sky-high fire effects.

But in that instant, a miracle occurred.

In the distant dark matter void, the mothership of The Sweepers, which had originally been in its highest energy output state, suddenly emitted a piercing metallic grinding sound.

Inside it, that core power system, which the aliens regarded as divine and could even operate with ease on the edge of a black hole, experienced an "accident" without any warning.

It was a prank of probability.

An extremely tiny metal part, due to some incredible thermal expansion and contraction effect, happened to get stuck in the thruster's bearing.

The probability of this was about one in a billion.

But under the influence of the "Law of Causality," it happened.

"Boom—!!!"

The power system went haywire, and a muffled sound like a volcanic eruption erupted from within the mothership.

Following that was a chain reaction.

The entire mothership began to spin wildly in the void, like a dragonfly with broken wings, crashing straight towards an abandoned planet.

Back in the command room, Jiang Chen watched this scene, revealing an extremely dark-bellied yet elegant smile.

He casually tossed the rusty remote control into a trash can nearby, then clapped his hands, turned around, and looked at the group of researchers who were completely stunned:

"Did you see that?"

"So much for physical laws and civilization levels."

"As long as you master this logic."

"This universe."

"Whoever I want to win, wins; whoever I want to lose, has to lose."

Jiang Chen shrugged, looking at the warship outside the window that was spinning wildly in Mars orbit and even starting to spew parts, his tone carrying a kind of almost arrogant humble-brag:

"It was just making them have a stomach ache, get into a car accident, or have their reactor go on strike."

"This is too simple."

"Next time, if I encounter something else that doesn't know when to quit, can you give me a slightly more difficult challenge?"

"This thing is just too boring."
