153: Chapter 153 Does the US Want to Land on the Moon and Snatch People?

Lunar orbit, in the shadow zone.

This is a blind spot where sunlight cannot reach, and it is the darkest, coldest corner of the entire Earth-Moon system.

A spaceship, coated entirely in radar-absorbent material and shaped like a black bat, was gliding silently over the craters.

This was not a research vessel made public by NASA.

This was the top-secret trump card of the Eagle's Space Force—the "Shadow" assault landing craft.

Inside the cabin, there were no scientists wearing bulky spacesuits.

Instead, there were six elite special forces soldiers fully armed and wearing powered exoskeletons. The weapons in their hands were not sampling shovels, but kinetic rifles modified specifically for the vacuum environment.

"Captain, is the target confirmed?"

A team member's hushed inquiry came over the communication channel.

Captain Steve stared intently through the porthole at the alien ruins illuminated by the searchlights below. On his helmet display, a blurry high-definition satellite photo was magnified countless times.

In the photo, a silver-haired little girl was sitting on the ruins, gnawing on a piece of metal.

"Confirmed beyond a doubt."

Steve's voice was cold and greedy, his eyes flashing with the unique glint of a hunter:

"Although those idiots at the intelligence agency are stupid, their intel this time is correct."

"The Dragon Country people really did dig up something incredible on the Far Side of the Moon. That girl… is definitely not human."

"She is living 'alien technology'! She is a priceless treasure!"

He tightened his grip on his gun, a cruel smile curling the corners of his mouth:

"Listen up, the mission is simple."

"While that Jiang Chen is still busy with infrastructure and his guard is down, we'll drop straight down."

"No need for negotiations, no need for warnings."

"Charge in, take out any Dragon Country people who resist, grab that girl, shove her into a stasis pod, and get out of here!"

"As long as we pull this off, we can turn that so-called 'Nantianmen Project' of the Dragon Country into a joke! The future of technological hegemony will still belong to us, the Eagle!"

"Understood!"

The team members responded in unison, their eyes filled with fanaticism.

In their view, this was simply a perfect "zero-dollar shopping" spree.

Although the Dragon Country had that massive warship, it was too large, which meant it was slow to react. And their "Shadow" possessed the top-tier stealth technology and maneuverability.

As long as they moved fast enough, they could completely sneak in unnoticed, grab the person, and run!

"Prepare to land!" Steve ordered. "Engage silent engines, turn off all active radar. We are going to be like ghosts, taking a dump on the necks of the Dragon Country people, and they won't even know who did it!"

"Hiss—" The stern of the landing craft emitted a faint blue ion stream, and like a bat swooping down on its prey, it dove rapidly toward the base below.

However.

Steve did not know.

From the moment they thought they were "stealthy," from the very second they cut into lunar orbit.

Their proud "Shadow" was already glowing like a 100-watt light bulb on Jiang Chen's radar screen.

Moon Base, temporary command center.

Jiang Chen leaned back in his chair, holding a cup of steaming instant coffee, looking speechless.

"Old Zhao."

He pointed to the small red dot on the screen that was sneaking around, trying to attack from behind, and sighed:

"Do you think these people are related to flies?"

"Wherever we go, they follow. They stole raincoats on Earth, and now they've come to the moon to steal a child?"

"Do they really think my radar is just for show? Or do they think there are no traffic police on the Far Side of the Moon, so they can just park illegally wherever they want?"

Zhao Gang stood to the side, his face livid. He stared at the red dot, his eyes filled with murderous intent, and the bolt of his gun clicked loudly as he racked it.

"Boss, these bastards are too arrogant!"

"This is an invasion! This is a naked act of war!"

"Since they don't want to live, then let's oblige them! The secondary battery of the luan bird is fully charged; just say the word, and I'll turn them into space junk!"

"Don't! Absolutely not!" Jiang Chen quickly stopped Zhao Gang, looking pained:

"This is the moon! The gravity is low, and there is no atmosphere to cushion the impact!"

"If you fire that shot, not only will the ship be gone, but the debris from the explosion will fly everywhere. What if it damages the gate to my ruins? What if it disturbs those deeper treasures underground?"

"And besides…" Jiang Chen pointed to the warehouses and living quarters outside that were just half-built:

"Our home is only half-renovated. If we get space junk everywhere, we'll have to pay people to clean it up. How cost-ineffective that would be."

"Then what do we do?" Zhao Gang was anxious, "We can't just watch them land, can we? They have guns!"

"Land?" Jiang Chen smiled.

He put down his coffee cup, stood up, and walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window.

Outside the window was the pitch-black universe and that gray-white wasteland. And on the tarmac not far away, a yellow figure wearing a special mini spacesuit was lying against the glass, boredly counting the stars.

"Since they are coming as guests, we must treat them with good wine and food."

Jiang Chen adjusted his collar, a hint of mischievous playfulness flashing in his eyes:

"Don't they want to engage in special operations? Don't they want to play at close-quarters raids?"

"Sure. Let's play along with them."

He turned his head and snapped his fingers at Zhao Gang:

"Old Zhao, go close the airlock."

"Retract all security systems and clear the way for them."

Zhao Gang was stunned: "Boss, are you planning… an empty city strategy?"

"What empty city strategy."

Jiang Chen's mouth curled up, pointing to the little yellow fellow outside who was yawning:

"This is called—Close the door and release Pikachu."

"That mouse has eaten too much lately, and it just needs to find some unlucky sucker to help it digest its food, and by the way… discharge some electricity."
