427: Chapter 427 Shi Le's Provocation

Shi Le had the archers of his Shiyang Tribe give a demonstration.

The performance area was properly set up, and the first event was shooting at static targets.

Archery in actual combat is very different from modern archery competitions.

On the battlefield, one doesn't care if an arrow is accurate to the millimeter, nor does one seek to make arrows curve, let alone think about hitting three different targets with three arrows at once.

Because the kinetic energy of a bow and arrow is limited, if three arrows are shot at once, the kinetic energy will be dispersed and weakened.

Most knights wear leather armor; once the kinetic energy is weakened, the arrows might not penetrate the leather armor, failing to kill the enemy.

But if only one arrow is shot, all the kinetic energy is concentrated on that single arrow, and the power is vastly different.

Especially with a 1.8-meter Powerful Bow, the power of the arrow shot is incredibly fierce; it can truly pin a person to the ground!

For an archer, what matters is the rate of fire!

What the archers of the Shiyang Tribe were about to demonstrate was their rate of fire.

Each of them was seen pre-drawing seven arrows from their Quivers and gripping them tightly in their left hands.

Then, they drew their bows and notched their arrows.

With a command, the archers quickly drew back their Powerful Bows until they were shaped like a full moon; with arrows on the strings, they were ready to fire.

With a "swish," the first arrow shot out like lightning, piercing straight through the first target; the arrowhead buried itself deep into the ground behind the target, leaving only the fletching vibrating slightly in the air.

Immediately after, without hesitation, he quickly notched a second arrow onto the bowstring and released it again; with another "swish," the second arrow accurately pierced the second target.

The third target!

The fourth target!

...

In one smooth motion, he fired seven arrows in succession, each one steadily piercing a target, demonstrating an extremely high rate of fire and precision.

The surrounding members of the Shiyang Tribe cheered and applauded one after another, the atmosphere exceptionally lively.

Seeing this, Xiao Zhuang couldn't help but clap and praise, "Impressive! To maintain such precision during rapid fire is truly admirable."

Hearing Xiao Zhuang's praise, a smug smile appeared on Shi Le's face, his eyes full of pride in his tribe's military prowess, as if declaring to the Great Qin that the Shiyang Tribe was by no means a lamb to be slaughtered.

Next, the archers of the Shiyang Tribe prepared to demonstrate shooting at moving targets.

Shi Le intentionally had people use frames to prop up the armor of Great Qin soldiers; such an act was full of provocation, as if openly challenging the Great Qin.

Shi Le, with an arrogant expression, loudly gave orders to the archers: "Listen up! When the men start running with the frames, you must hit the helmet on the frame, and it must go through the eye slits of the Visor! Let the people of Great Qin see the prowess of our Shiyang Tribe's Divine Archers!"

The archers nodded one after another, their eyes revealing confidence and determination.

An archer stepped forward; he had a vigorous posture and piercing eyes, staring intently at the target that was about to start moving not far away.

With a command, the person holding the frame began to run with hurried steps, the frame wobbling slightly as he ran.

The archer quickly notched an arrow; his movement of drawing the bow was seamless, and the bowstring was pulled to its limit, emitting a buzzing vibration.

His gaze was focused, locking onto the target; as the frame moved, his body also turned slightly, always maintaining the optimal shooting angle.

At that critical moment, he released the bowstring; with a "swish," the sharp arrow flew off the string like a bolt of black lightning, hurtling toward the target.

Everyone stared tensely at the arrow as it traced a perfect arc in the air, flying toward the helmet on the frame at extreme speed.

In the blink of an eye, the sharp arrow accurately hit the helmet, and it just so happened to enter through the eye slits of the Visor; the shaft of the arrow was firmly lodged inside the helmet, with the fletching still vibrating slightly.

"Bravo!"

Seeing this, the members of the Shiyang Tribe erupted into a burst of enthusiastic cheers.

Shi Le was even more triumphant, turning to look at Xiao Zhuang with eyes full of provocation.
