567: Chapter 567 Sharma's Fear

Rajesh Singh Delrosia's aide, Shankara Sharma, was also filled with horror; his eyes were wide, brimming with terror and disbelief.

Everything happening before him was like a nightmare, something he could never have imagined in his wildest dreams.

This terrifying enemy before them—he truly was like a superhuman!

In a desperate situation where he was heavily besieged and isolated, he had actually managed to carve out a path of blood through his own strength alone.

Sharma's gaze followed Xiang Yu's figure; he clearly saw the other man's intention, which was to recklessly charge down the city wall to open the gates.

At this thought, Shankara Sharma couldn't help but shudder, as if an invisible chill had surged from the soles of his feet straight to his heart.

He instinctively glanced outside the city walls at the massive cavalry army pressing forward like a black torrent; they were like a pack of hungry wolves, waiting for the moment the gates opened to surge into the city like a tide.

If the gates were truly opened, these predatory cavalrymen would surely charge into the city as if entering an uninhabited land, and Delrosia City, which they were defending, would instantly fall into an abyss of ruin; the consequences were simply unthinkable!

No!

This must not happen!

Shankara Sharma didn't dare imagine what kind of scene would unfold.

Judging by Xiang Yu's bloodthirsty state, it was clear how he would deal with them once he entered the city.

"Governor!"

Shankara Sharma's face was filled with anxiety, large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. He looked at Rajesh Singh Delrosia in terror, his voice slightly cracking from tension.

"We must stop him! If he opens the gates, the consequences will be catastrophic!"

"I know!"

Rajesh Singh Delrosia's expression was extremely grim, like the somber sky before a storm.

He gritted his teeth, his lips turning white from the strain, and gripped his battle-axe so tightly that his knuckles turned white as well.

This battle-axe was a weapon he had used in battle for many years; the head was forged from heavy iron, having undergone countless rounds of quenching and tempering, and it gleamed with a cold metallic luster.

Due to numerous battles, the edge of the axe had many notches, making it look like shark teeth.

Rajesh Singh Delrosia had intentionally kept these shark-tooth-like notches; in combat, these "teeth" could more easily tear into an enemy's skin, causing them to bleed out quickly.

Exquisite patterns were carved on both sides of the axe, symbols of the Delrosia Family's glory.

Rajesh Singh Delrosia was well aware of the dire situation; it was precisely because he wasn't absolutely certain of his chances against Xiang Yu that he kept sending his subordinates to wear down Xiang Yu's stamina.

However, at this moment, Xiang Yu was like a raging lion charging frantically toward the city gates. He knew he would have to make a move sooner or later.

But not now; he wanted to deplete Xiang Yu's energy as much as possible.

He had the numbers; there was no need to risk his life against Xiang Yu so soon.

Once Xiang Yu's stamina was nearly exhausted, perhaps he wouldn't even need to step in personally; his men might be able to cut Xiang Yu down themselves.

"Kill!"

"Kill him!"

Rajesh Singh Delrosia roared hoarsely, still ordering his men to wear down Xiang Yu's strength.

Meanwhile, he held his battle-axe and, leading a squad of archers, stood guard in front of the city gates.

His eyes were filled with killing intent; if Xiang Yu wanted to open the gates, he would have to get past him first!
