16: Chapter 16 Lin Wan is a Superhuman

In the instant blood splattered on the spot, the entire scene fell into dead silence.

Lin Wan retracted her fist, her hand stained with specks of blood, her gaze cold enough to freeze someone to death.

The people from the opposing The Convoy shrank their necks one by one, not daring to make a sound anymore, even lightening their breathing for fear of bringing trouble upon themselves.

Lin Feng froze in place, his face as pale as paper, his whole body trembling slightly.

Just a moment ago, he had been ordering Lin Wan around, feeling so smug as an assistant to The Convoy leader. But now he realized that the woman before him was actually a Transcendent!

A Transcendent who could smash a person's head with one punch!

A layer of cold sweat instantly broke out on Lin Feng's back, and the more he thought about it, the more terrified he became. He had given Lin Wan attitude that morning; if she really held a grudge, he would have died eight hundred times over by now.

What made him even more frustrated was that Lin Wan was clearly a Transcendent, yet she chose to be someone's assistant—it was an absurd waste of talent!

Who the hell acts as someone's assistant when they are a Transcendent!

He muttered to himself: "Is this woman stupid? If it were me, and I became a Transcendent, I would have already become someone superior; who would still serve others?"

In contrast, on the side of Dawn Convoy, everyone widened their eyes, their faces full of disbelief.

Everyone knew that just a few days ago, Lin Wan was just like them, a survivor as ordinary as could be, struggling at the bottom just like them.

But now? She had directly awakened into a Transcendent, her strength ridiculously powerful, taking down a person with a single punch!

The people in The Convoy whispered to each other privately, their eyes full of envy and awe.

"Damn! Lin Wan is actually a Transcendent? She hid it way too well!"

"Just a few days ago she was moving things just like us, and now she's this fierce? This is too absurd!"

Zhou Che sat to the side with his arms crossed, a faint smile playing on the corners of his mouth. He raised his hand and patted Lin Wan on the shoulder, signaling her to step forward and speak.

Lin Wan understood, stepped forward, swept her gaze over the people from the opposing The Convoy, and spoke in a serious and chilly tone.

"Listen up!"

"Last night, your Transcendent snuck in to attack us, and what was the result? The dead are dead, and the runaways have fled!"

"Now I'm giving you two choices: either get out and find your own place to survive, or obediently merge The Convoy and come under Mr. Zhou's jurisdiction!"

"Those who are sensible stay; those who aren't, the three people from just now will be your fate!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the people from the opposing The Convoy panicked instantly, looking at each other, no longer daring to have any thoughts of resistance.

After Lin Wan's cold and firm statement, the hundred or so people on the scene didn't dare to utter a single word of opposition.

Everyone knew in their hearts that in this apocalypse where supernatural entities ran rampant, without a Transcendent backing them, they were just lambs waiting to be slaughtered; if they left alone, they wouldn't last two days before being torn apart by supernatural entities.

Seeing that the whole scene was silent and there was no further objection, Lin Wan turned and walked back to Zhou Che's side, bowed slightly, and said respectfully: "Mr. Zhou, do you have any other instructions?"

Zhou Che raised his eyes, spoke indifferently, his tone casual: "Go pick someone from our The Convoy; I want to put her to good use."

As he spoke, he gave Lin Wan a subtle wink.

Lin Wan understood instantly, a flash of realization crossing her eyes.

Mr. Zhou's meaning was that he wanted to choose another sensible, "capable" person, someone as intimate as she was.

She didn't hesitate, walked to the front of her own The Convoy's crowd, swept her gaze over everyone, and said in a deep voice: "Captain Liu Ruyan, come out."

As soon as these words were spoken, Captain Liu Ruyan in the crowd shuddered instantly, her face turning pale as a sheet.

She had never expected that Lin Wan would call her name at this critical juncture.

Although the two were best friends before, in the apocalypse, human hearts were sinister, and so-called best-friendship was long ago a fragile, plastic bond that couldn't be relied upon at all.

The three troublemakers from just now, whose heads had been smashed by Lin Wan's punch, their bloody and mangled state was still vivid in her mind.

Captain Liu Ruyan's legs couldn't stop trembling, her heart pounded wildly, and fear instantly gripped her.

She didn't want to die; she still wanted to survive in the apocalypse!

Her brain raced, desperately trying to recall where she had offended Lin Wan, but she couldn't figure it out no matter what.

Ever since Lin Wan became Zhou Che's assistant, she had even specially prepared perfume to curry favor and flatter her, going along with Lin Wan in everything.

Could it be that Lin Wan wanted to cut the weeds and eliminate the roots, not even sparing her, her best friend?

Thinking that she might also end up with a flowering head, Captain Liu Ruyan felt her whole body go weak, almost unable to stand, her heart full of despair and panic.

Seeing Captain Liu Ruyan frozen in the crowd for a long time without moving, Lin Wan knitted her brows and called out again in a cold voice: "Captain Liu Ruyan, come out!"

Only then did Captain Liu Ruyan snap back to reality, shaking like a sieve, her gaze darting around, and she squeezed out of the crowd hesitantly.

The entire crowd's gazes instantly fell upon her, sizing her up non-stop.

This woman was covered in dirt and grime, her figure was gaunt with nothing to look at, and her clothes were tattered and ragged, full of dust stains and holes; only her buttocks looked somewhat perky, and other than that, there wasn't a single eye-catching feature.

Everyone was muttering to themselves, thinking that Lin Wan was going to make an example of someone again. Seeing Captain Liu Ruyan's miserable state, looking like she was about to cry from fear, they were full of sympathy but no one dared to make a sound.

Captain Liu Ruyan's legs were weak, and she moved step by step to the front. Raising her head to meet Lin Wan's scrutinizing gaze, her heart sank straight to the bottom.

She felt that in the next second, her head would be smashed, and she didn't even have the strength to beg for mercy, her whole body cold and stiff.

The crowd below also held their breath, not daring to breathe loudly, waiting for what would happen next.

But the bloody scene they expected didn't occur.

Lin Wan just glanced at her indifferently, and then spoke coldly to the whole crowd: "Dismissed, everyone get back to work!"

Everyone was confused, scattering one after another, whispering and guessing privately.

Could it be that this Captain Liu Ruyan only committed a minor mistake, and she wasn't planning to settle it on the spot, but wanted to keep it for private punishment?

The crowd dispersed, but Captain Liu Ruyan stood in place, her heart tightening even more, beating wildly, her fear not diminished in the slightest; she couldn't fathom Lin Wan's and Zhou Che's intentions at all.

Lin Wan didn't pay attention to her panic, directly signaled her to follow, and led her to Zhou Che.

Zhou Che raised his eyes, scanned Captain Liu Ruyan up and down, and frowned imperceptibly.

He pondered to himself: "This girl looks unremarkable, and other than her perky buttocks, there's nothing else to look at; she has no other highlights."

Could it be that Lin Wan misunderstood his intention and chose the wrong person?

Lin Wan saw through Zhou Che's thoughts at a glance, knowing he hadn't realized that Captain Liu Ruyan had deliberately disguised her appearance.

She didn't say much more, and directly said softly to Captain Liu Ruyan: "Ruyan, go clean yourself up; don't cover yourself up and hide anymore."

Captain Liu Ruyan was still trapped in fear; hearing Lin Wan's kind tone, her heart, which had been hanging in her throat, instantly settled down by more than half. She nodded quickly and turned to go tidy herself up.

Zhou Che, who was on the side, immediately came to his senses, understanding in his heart.

So this girl was a master of disguise, deliberately making herself look sloppy. It seemed her appearance definitely wouldn't be bad; Lin Wan had understood his meaning after all.

Zhou Che didn't wait long, took Lin Wan back to the car first, and incidentally instructed Ruan Xiaoxiao to go back and focus on treating her cousin Luo Xi.
