52: Chapter 52 The Unforgivable Crimes of Boss Ma

Yet they had been oppressed for too long and had long since been scared out of their wits; even though Boss Ma had already become a prisoner,

they were still filled with fear, not daring to look up and meet Boss Ma's eyes, let alone make any disrespectful gestures.

They were terrified that Boss Ma might still have a chance to turn the tables, and it would be them who suffered in the end.

Zhou Che took all of this in, and it became increasingly clear to him just how heinous and wicked this Boss Ma truly was!

Even after being captured, the fact that these ordinary people were still so terrified was proof enough of how horrifying his daily atrocities must have been!

Zhou Che walked to the front of the crowd and spoke aloud, his voice booming and carrying across the entire camp:

"Everyone, look closely! The villain Boss Ma has been completely subdued by us!"

"I know that many of you here have suffered greatly under the persecution of him and his subordinates.

Families torn apart, lives worse than death!

Today, our Dawn Convoy is here to publicly execute this heinous criminal and give everyone an answer!"

"Our Dawn Convoy only does three things: benefit The Convoy, benefit The Convoy, and goddamn benefit The Convoy.

We hate nothing more than such inhumane, evil beasts, and we will never let you be bullied again!"

As his words fell, the survivors of the two convoys instantly erupted!

Cheers, applause, and curses rose one after another; everyone was clamoring to execute Boss Ma immediately, refusing to give this villain any chance to turn the tables!

Following Zhou Che's order, the wicked Boss Ma was executed on the spot!

Watching Boss Ma meet his end, the survivors of The Circus could no longer suppress their emotions.

Cheers, relieved laughter, and bitter cries intertwined and echoed throughout the camp.

Since the outbreak of the apocalypse, this was the first time they dared to express their emotions so openly, no longer needing to fear or endure!

They knelt before Zhou Che one after another, kowtowing repeatedly, treating him as a savior and thanking him for rescuing them from the depths of misery!

Many had lost lovers and relatives and had suffered torture at the hands of Boss Ma; now that their great revenge had been taken, they could finally comfort their departed loved ones.

After handling Boss Ma's affairs, Zhou Che calmed down and absorbed the Sequence powers of those six Transcendents from The Circus.

Upon absorbing them, Zhou Che's eyes lit up!

He discovered that Boss Ma was actually a dual-Sequence Transcendent!

No wonder they could pull off so many dirty deeds and still successfully escape from Shancheng.

This Boss Ma actually had some ability, but unfortunately, he didn't use it for the right path!

After absorbing all the Sequences, Zhou Che immediately opened the system panel to check his Sequence levels:

[Boxer Sequence: Tier 3]

[Qi Controller Sequence: Tier 3]

[Lord of the Blood Moon Sequence: Tier 2]

[Metal Forger Sequence: Tier 2]

[Shapeshifter Sequence: Tier 2]

[Mechanic Sequence: Tier 2]

[Pathfinder Sequence: Tier 2]

[Rune Sequence: Tier 1]

[Physician Sequence: Tier 1]

[Illusionist Sequence: Tier 1]

[Beastman Sequence: Tier 1]

[Guardian Sequence: Tier 1]

[Prophet Sequence: Tier 1]

[Perceiver Sequence: Tier 1]

[Botanist Sequence: Tier 1]

With a dense array of Sequences upon him, capable of fighting, tanking, supporting, and sensing, he was developing in all directions without any shortcomings!

Furthermore, after this battle, Lin Wan's Lord of the Blood Moon Sequence successfully upgraded to Tier 2.

Even his own Lord of the Blood Moon Sequence had unknowingly upgraded to Tier 2 along with it!

Even more surprisingly, the system detected that he possessed two Tier 3 Sequences and immediately issued a notification, completing the upgrade directly!

But after reading the contents of the system upgrade, Zhou Che froze, speechless, and couldn't help but curse in his heart.

System upgrade, and that's it?

It was just that the number of people each Sequence could be bestowed upon was multiplied by 4; other than that, there was no other ability improvement!

So, after all that hard work, he just got a few more slots to bestow Sequences, and nothing else changed?

This isn't a system upgrade; at most, it's a system repair—the most perfunctory it could possibly be!

Zhou Che looked helpless. Complaining was complaining, but having something was better than having nothing; more slots could also strengthen The Convoy's power.

This shitty system couldn't be relied on for much; he'd just have to make do.

Calming down, Zhou Che recalled the chase just now and discovered a fatal weakness in The Convoy.

Their hovercars had decent performance, but the speed was too slow—at least far inferior to Boss Ma's modified jeep!

This time, they were lucky to intercept Boss Ma. If they encountered a strong enemy next time and couldn't outrun them, wouldn't they just be lambs to the slaughter?

He had to find a way to improve the speed of the hovercars and optimize the vehicle performance as soon as possible!

Otherwise, if they encountered danger in the future, they wouldn't even have an advantage in fleeing; they would be too passive!

Having just finished liquidating Boss Ma and his gang of inhumane scum,

Zhou Che didn't rush to rest; instead, he squatted in the open space of the camp, staring at Boss Ma's beat-up jeep with a grim expression.

The frustration from the earlier chase was still fresh in his memory.

He had assumed his own convoy had the advantage of hovering and should be faster than other convoys.

But compared to Boss Ma's modified car, they were left in the dust!

What is most precious in the apocalypse? Besides one's own Transcendent strength, it's the speed to escape with one's life!

If the power difference was this huge, if they really encountered a powerful anomaly or a ruthless force they couldn't handle,

and they couldn't run away, what would be the difference between that and sticking their necks out waiting for death?

The more Zhou Che thought about it, the more annoyed he became, pacing around Boss Ma's jeep circle after circle.

His fingertips impatiently tapped against the car body; he was determined to get to the bottom of the vehicle's power source.

He wanted to see what kind of mystery this beat-up car was hiding that allowed it to outclass his hovercars.

After pondering for a moment, Zhou Che reached out, unlatched the hood, and yanked it open.

But the moment the hood was opened, Zhou Che froze in place, completely bewildered.

The engine compartment was empty. Not to mention conventional engines or transmission kits, there weren't even many extra wires; it was ridiculously clean.

Zhou Che cursed on the spot, his face full of disbelief: "What the hell? What kind of trick is this?"

"A car without an engine, what are you using to run? Driving by goddamn willpower?"

Refusing to believe it, he bent down and climbed into the car, his eyes fixed on the area beneath the base. He searched back and forth for a long time but didn't see a shadow of a fuel tank.

Zhou Che's eyes widened, his mind filled with expletives:

"Impressive! You don't even need to burn fuel, yet you can run faster than me? Has this beat-up car become a spirit or seen a ghost?"

Still unwilling to give up, he carefully searched every nook and cranny of the car and finally, under the seat, found a small, modified iron box.

He pulled back the cover to look and saw it was a micro fuel tank, pitifully small, with only a handful of fuel stored inside.

Zhou Che rubbed his chin and instantly figured out the trick behind it.

This amount of fuel couldn't possibly drive the vehicle forward, because there was also a generator next to the fuel tank.

So this was at most for supplying electricity to the car, running the air conditioning, and turning on the headlights.
