55: Chapter 55 Mountain City Racing Car Circle

After annexing the Circus Convoy, the Dawn Convoy finished their consolidation and rest.

With about one hundred and fifty people in total, they were considered a fairly large group in the wilderness.

However, within the vast Mountain City Convoy Circle, they were only mid-sized and not worth mentioning.

As the Dawn Convoy's fleet of hovering vehicles slowly lifted off and headed into the East Bank sector, the entire encampment fell silent for a moment.

The survivors and Transcendent individuals from the twelve local convoys stationed on the East Bank all turned their heads in unison to look over, their gazes filled with astonishment, curiosity, and wariness.

Throughout the three major peripheral sectors of Mountain City, all convoys used modified ground vehicles and off-road trucks.

At most, they would add bulletproof reinforcement or fine-tune the engine, obediently driving along the ground.

Hovering vehicles?

This was a configuration none of them had ever heard of or seen before!

In this region, the only vehicles capable of leaving the ground and flying at low altitudes were those belonging to the legendary, high-and-mighty Mechanical City!

This strange, newly emerged convoy before them was actually fully equipped with hovering vehicles.

Their formation was orderly, their aura piercing, as they slowly swept across the horizon!

In an instant, countless whispers quietly erupted across the various camps.

"Hovering vehicles! My god! What is the background of this convoy?"

"Never seen it before. It's definitely not a group from around our Mountain City. They must be a new convoy from far away!"

"Uniform flying vehicles—this is such a grand display!"

"Don't provoke them! Absolutely do not provoke them!

Aside from the three top-tier factions, I've never seen such an arrogant and powerful convoy. They are definitely not to be trifled with!"

In just a few moments, before the Dawn Convoy had even landed and set up camp, all the local convoys on the East Bank had silently labeled them as [Top-tier Faction, Do Not Provoke].

No one could gauge the depth of this convoy; no one dared to test them, and even fewer dared to provoke them.

Zhou Che took in everyone's reactions, a faint smile curling at the corner of his lips.

Being a bit high-profile was fine; having enough presence to deter others could save them from a lot of unnecessary trouble.

The Convoy chose an open area with a wide view and elevated terrain, quickly landing to set up camp.

Tents were quickly erected, vehicles were parked in an orderly fashion, and guards immediately took up their posts.

The entire process was smooth and fluid, displaying the demeanor of an elite force, which left the surrounding convoys secretly alarmed.

As soon as the camp was settled, Zhou Che once again activated his Tier 2 Guide Sequence to scan the surrounding environment in all directions.

The next second, his expression grew slightly solemn.

Dense, cold, and bone-chilling eerie auras were coiled like a rising tide all around the entire convoy circle.

In the forests, ruins, on the river, and in shadowed corners—they were everywhere!

The number was absurdly high, far exceeding the density of anomalies in the wilderness. Any random corner hidden countless sinister monsters.

Yet, strangely, these bloodthirsty, life-craving anomalies were all lying dormant.

They stared fixedly at the dense crowd of living people below, their greedy aura almost solidifying into substance.

They were restless, yet were consistently suppressed by an invisible force; not a single one dared to rashly rush out and attack.

Captain Liu Ruyan also sensed that something was wrong; her pretty face turned slightly pale, and her heart felt a wave of numbness.

She had experienced anomalies too many times and knew their habits all too well.

Anomalies were drawn to life; wherever the aura of living people was strong, that place would be subjected to frenzied sieges.

At this moment, the aura of life throughout the entire convoy circle was at its peak, and anomalies were densely packed all around.

By all logic, a large-scale chaotic tide of anomalies should have erupted long ago.

How could they be so well-behaved?

"It's too abnormal," Captain Liu Ruyan said in a low voice.

"All the anomalies are holding back and not moving, as if they are waiting for something, or as if they are being forcibly suppressed by something."

Zhou Che nodded slightly, rubbing his chin with his fingertips, his eyes filled with contemplation.

For a moment, he couldn't fathom the mystery behind it.

Was there a top-tier anomaly dormant deep within the main city, deliberately gathering strength?

Or did the strange object about to manifest carry special rules that suppressed all evil spirits?

Just as the two were secretly pondering the situation, several figures walked quickly toward the Dawn Convoy camp.

They were the captains of the various local convoys on the East Bank; hearing that top-tier newcomers had arrived, they had come to probe the truth, pay their respects, and get acquainted.

Captain Liu Ruyan took the initiative to meet them, standing tall with a detached and aloof demeanor, radiating the aura of a powerhouse.

The individuals who came had different backgrounds; there was a captain of a campus convoy formed by university students from before the apocalypse.

There was a captain of a Trainee Convoy formed by entertainment industry trainees who had banded together to survive, as well as leaders of small convoys formed by scattered individuals.

Everyone's attitude was polite yet cautious, their eyes always carrying a hint of wariness.

Their gazes would occasionally sweep over the parked hovering vehicles, filled with envy, but no one dared to rashly pry or inquire about secrets.

Having roamed the apocalypse for many years, these people were all sharp; they knew full well that the strong always had hidden cards, and prying was not a good thing.

"Greetings, captains," Captain Liu Ruyan said in a calm, neither humble nor arrogant tone, introducing herself,

"I am the captain of the Dawn Convoy, Captain Liu Ruyan."

Transcendent individuals, having been baptized by the apocalypse, would undergo a complete transformation in temperament, physique, and mindset; coldness and aloofness were the norm.

Everyone was long used to this and didn't think Captain Liu Ruyan was arrogant; on the contrary, they became increasingly in awe of the Dawn Convoy's foundation.

After some simple pleasantries, the captains took the initiative to speak, unreservedly briefing Captain Liu Ruyan on the overall power structure of Mountain City.

"Captain Liu, the Mountain City Convoy Circle is clearly divided."

"The North Bank sector has thirteen convoys stationed there; the West Bank sector is the strongest, with a full fifteen convoys;

Our East Bank is the weakest, originally with twelve convoys; now, with your Dawn Convoy, it makes exactly thirteen."

Someone then took the opportunity to mention the three top-tier factions hanging over all the local convoys.

"Currently, the only ones controlling the entire peripheral landscape are the three giants: the Human Alliance, the The Tribunal, and the Mechanical City."

"The Human Alliance and the The Tribunal were the first top-tier factions to arrive in Mountain City. Upon arrival, they immediately demarcated their territories, took root, and established a firm foothold.

The Human Alliance is permanently stationed on our East Bank, while the The Tribunal occupies the North Bank; they do not interfere with each other."

When mentioning the Mechanical City, everyone's faces showed expressions of lament and wariness.

"The Mechanical City is the most exaggerated; at first, they also entered from our East Bank.

That scene was truly magnificent and shocking—a steel behemoth floating through the air, its pressure covering a hundred miles; anyone who saw it was stunned!"

"They originally intended to skirt along the riverbank to explore the entire terrain of Mountain City, but when they tried to forcibly cross the Yun River, a major incident suddenly occurred!"

"No one knows what terrifying thing is hidden at the bottom of the river; we only know that the Mechanical City suffered a huge loss and was forcibly compelled to change course.

They gave up on the detour exploration, retreated in a sorry state to the West Bank, and never dared to cross boundaries at will again!"

"Now, the three top-tier factions all play the same way; their main forces have all withdrawn from the Mountain City territory.

They only leave behind elite squads to station themselves for exploration, intelligence gathering, and guarding opportunities, waiting for the strange object to manifest."

"The squad left behind by the Human Alliance has been exploring deep into the center of the main city these past few days; it's estimated they will return to camp tonight.

After they return, they will likely summon all The Convoy captains for a meeting to brief everyone on the intelligence."

Captain Liu Ruyan listened quietly, secretly shocked in her heart.
