79: Chapter 79 The Evil Dragon's Tribulation

The The Convoy on the East Bank crowded the riverbank, each craning their necks to look at the opposite bank.

Sounds of battle cries, explosions, and screams drifted over with the wind, making one's scalp tingle.

The West Bank and North Bank had already descended into complete chaos.

The Convoys collided, Transcendents clashed with blades and swords, and the light of strange objects flashed chaotically.

For those two golden beams shooting into the sky, everyone had gone red-eyed, killing with abandon.

Someone snatched half a remnant book, only to be stabbed in the back by the person behind them the moment they turned.

Someone had just touched the edge of the beam of light when they were dragged into the shadows by a strange entity.

Those on the East Bank watched with a mix of envy and relief.

Envious that they had the chance to snatch a top-ten strange object, yet relieved that they didn't have to wade into those muddy waters.

"Damn it, if I had gone to the West Bank back then, maybe I would be the one holding a strange object right now!"

"Stop dreaming. With your level of strength, you'd just be serving yourself up as a meal if you went."

"Exactly. It's good enough just to be alive; it's not like strange objects are that easy to snatch."

Just as everyone was clamoring.

The ground beneath their feet suddenly began to tremble slightly.

"What's going on? An earthquake?"

Someone looked down at their feet in confusion.

The next second, the trembling became violent.

The murky water of the Yun River began to rise crazily.

The originally calm river surface churned up huge waves.

The waves slammed against the reefs on the bank, emitting a thunderous roar that made people's ears buzz.

"Something's wrong! There's something in the river!"

Zhou Che stood on top of the RV, his expression instantly darkening.

His Perceiver Sequence was operating at full capacity, allowing him to clearly sense it.

There was an aura of extreme terror at the bottom of the river, rising rapidly.

That aura was cold, brutal, and filled with a desire for destruction, a hundred or even a thousand times stronger than the Devourer of Calamity.

It was even dozens of times stronger than the Wraith Black Mist.

The sky also changed its face.

The originally scarlet blood moon was obscured by rapidly gathering dark clouds.

In just a short moment, the entire sky turned pitch black, so dark one couldn't see their own fingers.

Only the two golden beams on the opposite bank were still shining stubbornly.

"Look at the middle of the river! What is that?"

Someone pointed at the center of the river and screamed uncontrollably.

Everyone's gaze turned in unison toward the center of the river.

They saw a huge bulge rising on the surface of the river in the center.

It grew larger and higher.

Immediately after, a "small island" slowly emerged from the water.

"An island? Since when was there an island in the river?"

"No! That's not an island!"

Zhou Che's pupils constricted sharply.

That was absolutely not an island.

It was a massive spine.

The spine was covered in dense scales, dark green-black in color.

Like rotting tree bark, yet also like hard armor, layered upon one another, glistening with a disgusting, oily sheen.

As the spine fully emerged from the water.

A gigantic head slowly lifted up.

Two horns grew on its head.

To call them horns would be less accurate than calling them two massive, rotting, ulcerated tree trunks.

They were stuck crookedly on top of its head, draped with aquatic weeds and unknown scraps of flesh.

Two eyes, the size of washbasins, slowly opened.

The ink-green vertical pupils emitted a faint light in the darkness, illuminating most of the river surface.

It opened its huge mouth, revealing a maw full of sharp fangs.

It let out a deafening roar toward the sky.

That sound was not something a mortal creature could possibly emit.

It sounded like a cow's bellow, yet carried a bone-chilling venom.

It sounded like a tiger's roar, yet was sharp enough to pierce one's eardrums.

The roar spread throughout the entire Mountain City; even the high-rise buildings in the distance were trembling slightly.

The dark clouds in the sky churned even more violently.

A rumbling thunder exploded deep within the clouds.

Purple lightning wove through the dark clouds, illuminating one terrified face after another.

"It's a flood dragon! It's a flood dragon!"

Someone realized what it was and shouted in shock.

"It wants to transform into a dragon! It's undergoing a lightning tribulation!"

"No wonder! No wonder all the strange entities in Mountain City were suppressed! So it was because it was undergoing a tribulation!"

Everyone understood.

The strange calmness of this period was definitely not a good thing.

It was this old flood dragon coiled at the bottom of the Yun River, brewing its tribulation.

The pressure it emitted suppressed all the strange entities in the entire city.

Now that it was undergoing the tribulation, the pressure vanished, and those strange entities that had been suppressed for so long were about to go completely out of control!

As soon as the words fell.

"Boom!"

The first bolt of lightning struck down.

A purple bolt of lightning as thick as a dozen-story building, carrying the momentum to destroy heaven and earth, struck fiercely onto the back of the flood dragon.

Scales burst open, black-red blood splattered and fell onto the river surface, staining a large area of the river red.

The flood dragon felt the pain and let out an even more violent roar.

Not only did it not retreat, but it swung its massive tail and charged straight toward the sky.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

The second and third bolts of lightning struck in succession.

Each one was thicker and fiercer than the last.

The flood dragon's body was already covered in wounds, with black blood flowing down its scales.

But it still did not stop, struggling to charge toward the top of the clouds.

Just at this moment.

Countless shrill roars suddenly resounded throughout the entire Mountain City.

From all directions, countless strange entities crawled out from ruins, from shadows, and from underground.

Dense and packed like a tide, they surged toward the The Convoy circle.

They had been suppressed for too long and were now completely berserk.

Their eyes held only slaughter and devouring; they wanted to swallow all living beings to strengthen themselves.

"Not good! The strange entities are rioting!"

"Run! Evacuate immediately!"

The East Bank The Convoy instantly fell into chaos.

Everyone panicked, running back to their vehicles like madmen, starting their engines, wanting to escape this hell.

Cries, engine roars, and the shrieks of strange entities intertwined, turning everything into a mess.

Zhou Che had long been prepared.

The order he had previously given to be ready to evacuate at any time had saved everyone now.

The people of the Dawn Convoy did not panic in the slightest.

Supplies had long been loaded, and vehicles had long been started.

"Go!"

Zhou Che gave the order.

Three hovercars took off first, accelerating to their limit, and rushed toward the outskirts of the Mountain City.

Seeing that the Dawn Convoy had moved, other The Convoys also followed behind, forming a long evacuation line.

No one was thinking about the strange objects on the opposite bank anymore.

Whatever top-ten strange objects, whatever opportunities—none were as important as their own lives.

The fifth bolt of lightning struck down.

This bolt of lightning was thicker and brighter than the previous four combined.

The entire sky was illuminated in purple.

"Roar!"

The flood dragon let out a dull and pained roar.

Its massive body fell heavily from the sky.

"Boom!"

It crashed into the city center of the North Bank, and the earth shook three times.

Immediately after, it swung its massive tail.

"Snap!"

It whipped its tail against a nearby high-rise building.

A dozens-of-stories high building was snapped in half by the blow and collapsed with a roar.

It opened its huge mouth and inhaled fiercely toward the North Bank The Convoy.

A massive suction force arrived.

Vehicles, buildings, Transcendents, strange entities...

Everything was sucked into its mouth, becoming nutrients for it to recover from its wounds.

The North Bank instantly turned into a living hell.

The screams came to an abrupt end.

The entire North Bank was almost swallowed clean in one gulp.

Watching this scene, Zhou Che's scalp tingled and his heart pounded wildly.

Too terrifying!

Is this the strength of a top-tier strange entity?

A casual flick of its tail could collapse a building, and one mouthful could swallow a whole district of people.
